BUYER BEWARE. Pioneer auto group in Marietta, Ohio. They sold my parents a minivan with an extended warranty and a lifetime power train warranty. My dad’s heal Pioneer auto group in Marietta, Ohio. They sold my parents a minivan with an extended warranty and a lifetime power train warranty. My dad’s health was failing, and the goal was for my mom to have one less stressor and to know the car would cause no major expenses. She’s been attentive to servicing on schedule. Last fall during the scheduled oil change, they “recommended” nearly $1K worth of fluid flushes. (I don’t know about you, but the van had 60K miles, and I’ve never done all that). No one ever told her it was necessary for the warranty. Fast forward 6 months, and the transmission has failed. It is a known weakness on that model van. Pioneer auto refuses to fix it, has given her a huge run around, and says the warranty is void because she didn’t follow the scheduled maintenance. They are growing at a rapid clip, and maybe they feel like they don’t need our business. If the business model is to take advantage of senior citizens on a fixed income, I hope they fail. I will never darken their door to buy a new vehicle. I’m sharing this with all our friends, family, and my coworkers and medical partners. Hopefully they’ll get the message if it hurts their bottom line a little. More

I saw a 2005 Cadillac sitting on Pioneers used car lot and I got out and looked it over. There was a plastic banner on the windshield saying something about their grand opening and there was a card appro and I got out and looked it over. There was a plastic banner on the windshield saying something about their grand opening and there was a card approximately 12x12 inches laying on the front seat with 8900.00 on it. This was on Sunday and they were closed so I called them on Monday morning and spoke to Mike Hogue. [salesman] I asked about the mileage which he answered and told him that I would be there within two hours. When I arrived and located Mr. Hogue he was very friendly and helpful. I looked the car over and we test drove it and I saw three things that were wrong with the car: front rotors were warped, door seals leaked slightly, and the traction light was on. Mike left and talked to Paul Chambers [manager] and came back and told me that they could correct these issues. He then asked me if I would make an offer which I did for 8000.00 cash--no financing. He told me the asking price was 10,900.00 and he would talk to Paul Chambers. They both came back and said that they would sell for 8950.00 if I would take care of the three issues that I found wrong. I told them that I could take care of the rotors and seals but they needed to find out why the traction control light was on so I would have an idea of how much fixing it would cost. They told me to drive the car home and come back the next day but I did not want to drive it if the light being on meant that something would break. Paul Chambers told me that he would personally take the car to their maintenance department and find the cause and call me that very same evening. I did not get a call and waited until 11:04 the following morning and then called Paul. He said that the problem was going to be fixed and to come to their location. I told him that I had an appointment that I had to go to and that I would be out of contact for a while but I would check my voicemail when I became available to make sure the light had been fixed. I checked my voicemail at 3:30 and he left a message that the light was fixed so I called him at 3:31 and he asked me to call back at 5:45 which I called and was put on hold for 5 minutes and 8 seconds with no response so I hung up and called back at 6:02 , was put on hold and then was cut off. I then called at 6:06 was on hold for about a minute then Paul Chambers answered and said that he was sorry but the car had been sold but if he had known that I wanted it he would have hidden it from the people who bought it. I told him that this was unacceptable to me and I felt as if I had been lied to because I told him and Mike Hogue on the previous afternoon at Mikes' desk that it would be a deal as soon as the light was fixed. Paul Chambers has several negative reviews, online, so I was deceived and someone else probably paid more for the car than I was going to. I certainly would not have wasted my time and phone calls if I had not wanted the car. This is truly low service? More
