This was our first visit to the service department since we purchased our Passport in December 2024. The scheduling was easy and convenient. She answered all our questions and helped us feel at ease during our first contact with service. She explained the process and advised us of the expected wait time. The service was completed as she described. This visit at Phil Hughes Honda Service Dept. was a pleasant surprise--not at all like previous experiences with our last dealer (not a Honda). Rebekah deserves a huge thank you for making our first visit comfortable. The atmosphere and dealer waiting area was pleasant and comfortable. Just purchased a used truck. Looked over good on Thursday, signed the deal. Came back picked up on Friday, had my sister drive it home, since I had a company loaner truck. Get home and the windshield broken, did not happen after we left the dealership. Wasn't that way on Thursday during test drive, salesperson even verified. Management refused to make it right. They ordered the car in the color and trim I wanted from factory, which other dealers said they could not do. Car arrived 4 months later with 5 miles off the truck. Red carpet pickup experience to boot! Would definitley buy another Honda here. More
I recently purchased a new Honda and the experience was not as good as it could have been. I say this form the position of previously buying 7 vehicles from this dealership, and the difference between thos not as good as it could have been. I say this form the position of previously buying 7 vehicles from this dealership, and the difference between those prior purchases and this one was significant. For starters, they now have a "policy" of adding a bunch of unnecessary stuff to the price of the car and this introduces a lot of unnecessary angst into the buying process. In the end, I got a fairer price by leveraging my past loyalty and negotiating the MSRP, but it was way harder than it needed to be. To be clear, this is not a sales personnel issue because the folks in that department are excellent as are folks in the business office, rather it reflects on the mindset of the dealership's owners to fleece their customers. Mandatory sealant packages, nitrogen in the tires, theft recovery packages, are not needed for the average car owner, but the dealership makes them mandatory for all purchases. The problem is that all the Honda dealerships in the area share the same non-negotiable "policy" regarding add-ons, which creates an atmosphere of collusion. They say the policy is in place due "market conditions", but even without the add-ons they are selling cars at much higher prices than before and their lots are brimming with new cars to sell. The CARS Act can and will rectify a lot of this non-sense if and when it eventually becomes law, but until then, buyer beware with this and all Honda dealerships in Georgia and know what you are getting into. More
