Don't buy your used work vehicle here. I bought a RHD jeep from Pettyjohn's in late Jan. '15...to use as my primary work vehicle.... I'm a RCA for the USPS which means that I work mostly 1 I bought a RHD jeep from Pettyjohn's in late Jan. '15...to use as my primary work vehicle.... I'm a RCA for the USPS which means that I work mostly 1 day a week, vacations, sick time and more over the holidays, for a regular carrier. I wanted a vehicle that would last me for the next 6 years, without nickel and diming me to death like my 20 year old Cherokee backup vehicle. These folks implied I this vehicle would do that job for me. 2 weeks after I got it home...the engine light came on...I didn't have any problems with it....so figured it was the normal "idiot" light. Then I started having overheating...my mechanic reset everything...told me that dio. said transmission.? Second time it happened...it blew out the radiator...and my mechanic dug more into it...again it's pointing to transmission. The first reset lasted 3 weeks(one run a week), second lasted 2 weeks, this reset lasted a day...and the mechanic tells me no doubt the tranny needs to be replaced/rebuilt. I called Pettyjohn today... The last words that was said to me by the owner when we left with the vehicle was..."if you have any problems with it, let us know, and we'll try to help." well those words mean NOTHING! They obviously knew there were problems with the vehicle....and me only using it once a week ment that it would take longer for me to find out...and now they say I've had it to long for them to feel any responsibility to honor those words. Shame on me for trusting a dealer! Won't happen again...and I will be telling all those people who wanted to know where I got my vehicle what has happened since. Am thinking about getting a vinyl sticker made up to put above the "Pettyjohn" dealer sticker...that says...."SELLS CRAP!" I'll bet I can get ahold of the Carrier who previously owned this vehicle and find out if the dealer knew this vehicle had a tranny problem...before they put on their contract that there were no "known" problems. More

I can only offer my opinion but this is the absolute worst body shop I have ever had to deal with. I bought a brand new car from them, had a deer strike that required body work to repair and as I wanted (and was willing to pay for) all OEM parts I took it back to them. This place had my car for THREE MONTHS before admitting they simply didn't have staff capable of making a quality repair. The car is still a disaster and I will provide photos of just how bad it is to anyone that would like to see and judge for themselves. Trust me, you would be better off handing your car over to a room of trained chimps, at least you would have a reason to laugh. Avoid their body shop like the plague! Austin Myers Rural Denver, MO. I was cold called because the saleman knew me and that my vehicle was old. He provided good information about purchasing a car I'd researched for the future. Months later my car needed major work and I decided to buy a new vehicle and called the salesman. He listened to what I wanted and found it in another state. Pettijohn's has a reputation for honesty, good service and good deals in this area and after purchasing a new car from them I believe their reputation has been earned. My experience was only positive. Everyone I dealt with at Pettijohn's was professional and knowledgable. I am very satisfied with my new car. More
Traveled 870 miles to get our Truck from Pettijohn. Could not have had a better experience or worked with better people. Had everything ready to go when I arrived. Even had someone drive 1.5 hours each way to pick me up at Kansas City Airport. Great people, Great Products and Prices that let me travel 1/3 of the way across the country and STILL come out ahead! The dealership located the type of vehicle we wanted,brought it to the dealership, called us when it arrived so we could do the paperwork.
