Well thanks to Peters I didn't even know this site even existed until now. A friend mentioned it to me and suggested since I am always pushing people to go there, I should share my comments with others. existed until now. A friend mentioned it to me and suggested since I am always pushing people to go there, I should share my comments with others. So, as of yesterday my family just bought our 3rd Honda from them this year (2 Civic's and a Pilot) and that's about the 10-11th car we've purchased from them total. Why Peters? -1- Best Staff and best pricing - Their staff is always friendly and approachable, always putting the customer first and you never feel like you or your weird questions about a car, features, financing, etc. are out of place. Generally speaking, I hate dealerships, but I have to admit the atmosphere at Peters is really one that is comfortable and I love working with the folks there. Step 1 to a good relationship is having a staff that people enjoy interacting with, they have that down pat. This is also reflected when it's buying time as well, it's nice. -2- Low pressure/no games - They only wanted to sell me a car that I wanted, and only if I wanted to buy it. It sounds weird, but I am sold on this philosophy. While they will still manage to sell you a car, it isn't "come in, sit down, lets write down all your info so I can THEN listen to what you want". I recently came to the conclusion that Peters is the only place that actually seems to empower YOU to make up your mind what it might be that you want to own. Don't get me wrong though, the last Civic I definitely needed some help with and (more on that later) they stepped up to the plate. I'd also like to use the term 'sales efficiency' here, as I feel like the bargain process over buying my cars from them has gotten significantly reduced...I believe this is because I don't have to deal with the typical "oh but this is the last car EVER and if you don't buy it TODAY the planet will implode!" type of jive, I express hey I want to buy a car and here are my terms - and we work together to come up with what works. It's a pretty cool method of doing business. -3- Great Service/Parts - I will admit, 98% of my experience with Peters was in the sales realm. This is only because I am an ethusiast and do all my own service work on them in my own shop via the factory manuals. However, I still like to give their parts dept. my business on OEM fluids/filters/parts when practical because they always seem to have it in stock or by tomorrow morning, and again are always friendly and helpful like the rest of the folks. The same goes for service, occasionally there are service bulletins or recalls that require a visit to the dealer. While dealing with the writers is always pleasant, I've never gotten home to find they forgot to tighten something or carelessly threw something back together to get it done in time. When I had a problem with TPMS once, we thought it was the tire really just being low and away I went until it occurred again. Upon the return visit without my prompting, the inspected and refreshed the TPMS on all 4 wheels as a good faith measure. Maybe I come across as anal retentive or something? but I appreciate they took the extra time to give me the peace of mind. Since this is a dealer rating site, I thought that I should mention that first in fairness. However I also thought I should throw an honorable mention in here for Gary Tulchinski aka 'Gary Tall' of Peters Honda. In searching for some leftover vehicles I was searching a few Honda dealerships (since you're always going to get the best deal with whats on the lot sometimes you can't choose). Since my former salesman at Peters had moved onward and upward I was introduced to Gary on a recent visit there. Meeting him, I was in my crux of what to get. I was bouncing between a new Ridgeline (what I currently had) or maybe stepping into an Accord or Civic as I am doing a lot more commuting these days. Let me just say it was clear by visits to other dealerships, they just wanted to sell me a car, didn't really matter what - but I should definitely buy it then, from them! Gary's approach to the equation was pretty much that he was willing to sell me all of them or none of them. Didn't matter when at all. Don't get me wrong, he also offered me his insights from his point of view, but I could clearly tell it wasn't in the 'yeah but the ridgeline has the most margin so that what you need' sort of way that some others had. Gary also insisted I drive them all on the same day so I could more immediately compare. I challenged this, so we did take an accord out. Normally I am 'decide and execute', but this time I knew I wanted a new car but wasn't sure which direction I should really turn in a real odd place for me. I'll just say that discussion with Gary was the first of many test drives and discussions to follow. I then horrified my wife that first night when we got in the car by telling her "well I am not really sure what I want, but I do know that I will come back to see him and we'll figure it out". Typically the sales folks are a means to an end for me, so that was a bit out of character for me and clearly my wife thought I would be coming home with all 3 cars now that I'm actually relying on a salesperson for help with this ;) Though I feel Gary really personifies most of that which I've found at Peters for years: A great salesperson who is really really well informed on his products, keeps in touch with his customers (in a sense that he had real world feedback on certain questions I had and in one case put me in touch with someone who owned the car I was really on the fence regarding - at their OK of course) and you can tell has been doing this awhile and I don't mean that in a bad way at all. A really great person that just happens to sell cars, and that is pretty much what I have come to expect at Peters. So sorry for the really long writeup, but I have been buying cars there since 2001 for myself and my family, and will continue to as long as they'll continue to take good care of me :) Thanks -Chris aka HondaAddict More
Luke was the most persistent, yet kind dealer we have ever met. He was really lloking out for our best interest in a vehicle and made our buying experience the best at Peter's Honda. Cheryl was helpfu ever met. He was really lloking out for our best interest in a vehicle and made our buying experience the best at Peter's Honda. Cheryl was helpful when the time came to make a deal for us. She assured us of the best deal possible, and came through. More
I am 22 years old, and when I decieded it was time to get a new car, my father said that there was "no way that I was going by myself, I would get walked all over." To both of our disbeliefs I had the exact a new car, my father said that there was "no way that I was going by myself, I would get walked all over." To both of our disbeliefs I had the exact opposite experience working with Gary. My dad went with me the first night, when I test drove (and fell in love with) the '09 Accord Coupe. After the drive, Gary spoke to ME, (and not to the man I was with, problems that an independent young woman NEVER wants to encounter), about the specifics of the car. I left that night knowing that I could not realisitcally afford the payments and decieded to go try a few other cars. On the drive home, my dad and I agreed that I would be perfectly "safe" going by myself due to Garys helpful, but NEVER pushy personality. I did test drive other cars, but Gary knew how badly I wanted the Accord that I first drove. He knew what I could afford, and worked it out so that I was able to get into that car. I could't be happier with the experience, or the car! I live an hour away from the dealership, but Gary communicated with timely emails to update me during the process of getting me the financing that I needed. I recommend this dealership and Gary to anyone who reads this! More
Without a doubt the most enjoyable car buying experience I have ever had. I am 52 years old and have been in some type of sales most of my life. I had done my homework before going into the dealership. I I have ever had. I am 52 years old and have been in some type of sales most of my life. I had done my homework before going into the dealership. I was treated with respect the entire time. My information I had read about the car I wanted, was accepted and put to good use. The car I wanted was not on the lot, it was found and brought to Peter's for me, in the color I wanted and the exact model I wanted. The dealer added accessories that I wanted, quickly with a clean install. As I started looking for a new car in the middle of the clunkers program I already knew I did not qualify. So I let Bob and Dan know that I was not in a big hurry and to take care of the rush from the program. I was kept updated as well as questions answered quickly via email (my prefered way to communicate. The pricing was fare all around. I left feeling like I and Peters both got a good deal, not something that happens very often with any type of purchase. More
The treatment that we received recently from Gary and Mike was top flight: low key, authentically friendly, timely and competent. On a day that he was under obvious pressure to satisfy other customers in Mike was top flight: low key, authentically friendly, timely and competent. On a day that he was under obvious pressure to satisfy other customers in addition to us, Gary remained attentive and courteous, and kept the process moving. His good humor helped to make the inevitable wait time more bearable, and he answered all of our questions clearly and candidly. The only reason we didn't give straight "5's" is because the price on our new Fit was non-negotiable. But, we acquired the car that we wanted without feeling that we were "taken" or manipulated. Overall, it was the best car buying experience that we've ever had, and we highly recommend Peters Honda, and Honda vehicles themselves. More

We just bought a 2010 Honda Pilot from Tony at Peters Nashua. He and the floor manager were great to work with and very expedious in their decision making. We were prepared to buy a Pilot from another Nashua. He and the floor manager were great to work with and very expedious in their decision making. We were prepared to buy a Pilot from another dealer, however, at the last minute the other dealer said it would be another 1 1/2 - 2 weeks before they had the car. I called Tony on a Friday evening and he confirmed that he had the model we were looking for in stock. We discussed general pricing over the phone since we live in Mass. and did not want to make the 45 minute drive to Nashua if we were far off. We were not far off in pricing and ended up getting a great price from Peters Nashua at slightly below invoice! Tony was prompt in meeting us at the dealership and had a friendly "can do" personality. he was very knowledgeable of the car and didn't hassle us with the typical sales pitch that others focus on which we really liked. The "negotiation" between us and Tony and the sales manager was quick and painless. We ended up buying the car on that night within 1 1/2 after arriving. We picked up the car Saturday morning after it was detailed and prepped. All in all it was a real easy and pleasant process working with Tony and the team at Peters Nashua. We had been to 9 other dealerships and this one was the best we dealt with. No games, great pricing and great to deal with!! I would definitely recomment Tony and Peters Nashua. More
We started looking for a CR-V in Nov '08 and didn't buy until Jul '09. From the beginning Peter's Honda was the price leader of the dozen dealerships within 60 miles. Through all of this, Matt Atherton w until Jul '09. From the beginning Peter's Honda was the price leader of the dozen dealerships within 60 miles. Through all of this, Matt Atherton was very friendly, quick to respond to emails, forthcoming with news of incentives and at times had the patience of a saint. I highly recommend this dealership and especially Matt. More
I hate car dealerships, and the feeling is mutual. But for some reason, Peter's Honda was an entirely different experience from the torture I normally associate with buying a new car. One thing to put for some reason, Peter's Honda was an entirely different experience from the torture I normally associate with buying a new car. One thing to put everything else in perspective is the following: I'm a dealership's worst nightmare. I come into a dealership with tons of research under my belt, a very specific maximum figure I'm willing to pay, and a bad attitude. I do believe that dealerships probably don't make money off of me; I'm more of a write-off, where they can raise their overall figures by selling me a car at a loss. So I end up getting treated worse than even the average prospective customer, because they generally know that I'm not really "commission material." But at Peter's, that didn't matter. They still treated me like royalty - okay, petty nobility, but still someone important. This may be a general trend at Peter's, but I attribute it mostly to two factors - Gary Tulchinksy, the salesman, and Zoey Lane, his boss, a kind of general manager for the floor. By the time I started talking to Gary, I had already talked to about a dozen Honda and Toyota dealerships in southern New Hampshire and Boston's "North Shore". Of course I wasn't eager to spend more Verizon Wireless peak-time minutes talking to another dealer. But it was a different experience with Gary at the outset. Part of this was his very personable and - believe it or not, in this industry - humble manner over the phone. Part of it was that he seemed like a real authority on cars in general, and the 2009 Honda Civic in particular, and he actually found ways of making the topic interesting. It's important to understand that I'm not a "car" guy, and in fact, I'm not much of a consumer in general. I had quickly gotten tired of hearing sleazy sales-guys in white shirts telling me that I'm really "excited" about their car, because I don't get excited about merchandise. But with Gary, the impossible happened: I got excited about a car, particularly the Honda Civic. Gary lined things up so that when I arrived at Peter's of Nashua, sometime close to closing time on a cold March (2009) evening, a spankin' new silver Civic LX was waiting for me, with the motor running, the heat on, and all of two miles on the odometer. Gary explained things about "aerodynamics" and "wind resistance", and suddenly I appreciated the sleek-ish space-age thinness of the Civic, and I could imagine those attributes working to save me money on gas. He also made me appreciate how comfortable the Civic was to sit in it - or lounge, really - and I suddenly saw this "for sale" item as kind of a minor masterpiece of engineering. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I appreciate cars now when I'm on the highway, although prior to meeting Gary, they seemed more like obstacles to my commute. It's like the 10th grade art teacher who suddenly turned you on to Michelangelo - only, admittedly, in this case, it's about cars. The best part, though, is Gary bent over backwards not just to get me exactly the price I wanted to pay, but also to get Honda financing for it. I consciously indulged in a slow, agonizing bidding-war-by-phone between Peter's and Auto Fair. Auto Fair got nasty over it almost immediately; between their nickel-and-diming, nominal drops in price at each turn, came invective about how "we will beat Peter's whatever it takes" and a fair bit of hostility and condescension towards me, with the standard head-gamey touch of pressure and ultimatum. [I never told Mr. AutoFair that "the other woman" was Peter's but somehow he figured it out.] Gary was entirely different - very mellow, and accepting of my self-serving exploitation of market forces. Moreover, he managed to make a quantum drop in the bidding process that made me no longer interested in playing the game; I just accepted his price, and was happy not to take any more calls from Vanity Fair - I mean Auto Fair. [It's worth noting that all the other "players" fell out of the bidding very quickly. Most entertaining was Commonwelath Motors - the so-called "Shop Us Last" people; they stopped talking about how they'll beat any price once I told them what Gary had settled on for a price, and suddenly the telemarketing campaign crashed to a halt.] I have to credit Gary's boss, Zoey Lane, as well, because she was very helpful in the process of settling on an excellent price and working on getting the financing I needed. Also, I met her and she was very friendly, as opposed to "Friendly!!" What she had in common with Gary, more than any thing else, was the feel of being actual human beings in an industry dominated by life-force-draining automatons. And Gary obviously had an excellent working relationship with her, in which they genuinely liked and respected each other. Gary told me in some detail about how much he liked working for Peter's, in contrast to his experience at other dealerships, and what a wonderful boss Zoey was. So I'm thrilled with Peter's Honda in general, and with Gary and Zoey in particular. Don't "shop [them] last" - shop them first, then go get abused and nickeled-and-dimed by the competition as much as you feel thoroughness or "fairness" requires - and then go back and close the deal with Peter's Honda. And if you can, make a point of asking for Gary. He won't mind if you pump him for information about the cars - even "other" cars like Toyotas - and you won't just get a good price; you'll get an education, and a surpringly good experience - in a car dealership, of all places. We got a great car for a great price. I feel that, being prepared, I bargained well, yet never felt as though anyone was offended. I never felt pressured and always felt that the salesperson and managers wa prepared, I bargained well, yet never felt as though anyone was offended. I never felt pressured and always felt that the salesperson and managers wanted a win-win situation, which we all got. I look forward to doing business with Peters Honda for many years to come. More
