Three times over the course of a two month period they told me that they have fixed the problems occurring with my vehicle and three times the same exact issue occurred. This all begins towards the end of last year. Last December, my Honda, CR-V experienced brake issues. The brake pedal began feeling mushy and the brake lines kept losing pressure. I had to keep pumping the brakes to maintain functionality. I bring my car to Perry Motors Honda the closest Honda Service Center. The service advisor told me I needed a new master cylinder. The replacement costed $600. Two weeks later they began feeling mushy and the brake lines failed, again, to maintain pressure. I brought my car to a more local independent service shop. The owner says a new master cylinder is needed; I explain that it is not be possible for I just had it replaced. I bring my vehicle back to Perry motors, even accidentally ran a red light in the process, because my brakes could not slow my car enough. They claimed I had a dirty brake modulator. They said cleaned it out and that if the issue persists I should get it replaced. The repair worked for two weeks. My brake pedal turned into mush again. There was even less pressure than before. I explain the situation and what had happened to one of the managers at Perry Motors and received a full refund for the master cylinder work. I decide to get my car looked at by a second local service shop. At the local shop, I detailed the issues with my car and the work done. I give my theories based on research on the issue plaguing my car. The owner, with some convincing, explains that I still need a new master cylinder. I agree to get it replaced at this shop. After I picked the car up, the brakes were working perfectly and did not lose pressure after about two weeks of usage. The repaired brakes exposed another major issue. Three weeks after replacing the master cylinder locally. I was driving on US-395 South. I experience engine trouble as I am nearing Bishop. My car begins shaking and vibrating and the traction control and Vehicle Stability Control (VSA) error lights blink on. I lose acceleration, even while pushing the pedal further down. I start to smell burning transmission fluid and noticed that the engine was overheating. My car slows down to a snail's pace. I get towed to Perry Motors. They charge me over $800 parts and labor for several repaired and replaced parts. After one week; I pick it up on February 28. I question the quality of their replacements and validity of their diagnoses. One day later I am 1-hour into a 3-hour drive to Reno, the exact issues occur. This time, driving North on US-395 I begin to feel the same vibrating in the steering column, but it's more extreme. I feel like I am driving off road. Since I literally picked up my car the prior day and was told that it was fixed, I believe the issue was benign. The shaking happens on-and-off and subsides at lower speeds, but as we turn into downtown Reno, the "fixed" problems begin again. The same error lights come on. After several blocks, I lose almost all acceleration. Only 1 block from the destination, the car stops moving. With help, we push my car out of the street and the smell of burning transmission fluid is worse than before. I get towed to the nearest Honda service center. The car can drive across the lot while the engine is still cool, but he thinks the transmission is faulty. After hearing my story the service advisor is reluctant to say I need a new transmission. We agree to service it and flush the transmission fluid. The next day after a lengthy test drive, all the issues reoccurred. He tells me that I need a new transmission. An internal error prevented the transmission from lubricating as it should. I tell him about the recent repair work and he tells me that they would have done nothing with a faulty transmission. The cost of a new transmission was nearly as much as my car. I had to scrap it. I question whether they are taking advantage by taking my money for no real work, or are grossly incompetent. I thought, the service manager would provide a refund after hearing what happened one day after retrieving my car. He not only refuses to provide any refund, but also claims to have fixed the overheating issue and says, "The transmission was just fine before." He says I should have sold my car a long time ago and that he could not help it if the transmission decided to blow out the next day. I explained that these were literally the same exact symptoms and he may have misdiagnosed the issue. His point seemed most absurd. They seem like nice people, but Perry Motors preys on stranded motorists, vacationers, and out-of-towners. Three out of three times they "repaired" my car and the same issue persisted.
