My first dealing with Perry was to purchase my first car from a dealership. Jerry the salesman who had plenty of awards on his desk talked me into a black Ford Fusion. My then fiance asked if the car was a rental car and Jerry told him he didn't think so. Turns out the car was definitely a rental car complete with all of the problems that come with purchasing a used rental car. After owning the car for 5 years and spending a couple thousand dollars replacing parts and sensors that conveniently fell outside of the extended warranty I purchased with the car I decided to trade it in. Knowing I would not deal with Perry again I went elsewhere. I went back to Perry with the paperwork to receive a refund for the remaining funds from my extended warranty and gap insurance. I met with Mani Serani in the finance department to fill out the paperwork. I did not have the original service agreement so I was told to fax it to him the following day. After faxing the paperwork I sent an email asking him to confirm that he received it. After send two additional emails and leaving a voice message Mani emailed me almost a week later. The content of the email was condescending at best telling me the process was started. I was to expect the first check to arrive in the second week of April and the second after that. On the third week of April I emailed Mani to check in because it was a week past the expected date. True to form he has still not replied. I called the companies handling the claims and was told the funds had been sent to the dealership over 2 weeks ago. The other company (the one needing the follow up paperwork) had not received anything from Perry. I faxed the paperwork and claim form over and again tried to contact Mani, no call back. Today, April 22, I called the dealership and asked to speak with Mani's supervisor Walter Alfaro. This must be where Mani aquired his callback skills because he has not returned a call either. The service department issue at Perry happened when my husband took his car in for a service at 20,000 miles. When he went to pick the car up the dealership charged him for a 60,000 mile service considerably more because of extra work they supposedly did. Istead of a bill of less than $100 like we expected they charged over $600. We took the car to a mechanic because we suspected the work had not been done and wasn't needed. Of course it was obvious belts etc had not been changed. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and cannot wait until I never have to deal with them again. More
Excellent service starting with the new sales person Kenny Hutchenson,he made us feel so welcome and he was so friendly and down to earth we were very comfortable from the very beginning. Mr. Salce the Sales Manager was so wonderful he worked very hard to find us the very best deal and rate possible and last but not least Mani Sarani the Director of finance who has been so patient and explaining every detail to us and following through with all of the commitments he made to us. Each and every person we spoke to was very friendly and nice. We will definitely recommend Perry Ford Lincoln Mazda dealership to our friends and family. INEFFICIENT, UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST! The INEFFICIENT, UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST! The effeminate service manager was very inattentive - spent most of his time chatting with Hispanic customer INEFFICIENT, UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST! The effeminate service manager was very inattentive - spent most of his time chatting with Hispanic customers and visitors more than paying attention to relaying my service needs to the repair crew - while I was trying to ask him why it was taking so long to fix my car. When I did get his attention, he was very rude and snippy and gave me a dirty look! He was very unprofessional, to say the least. After I got home, I found out that the "repair" crew had stolen the splash guards off of my car (which took some doing as they were metal and were bolted onto my car), they left off 2 parts, which I had to call and request (meanwhile, the service manager completely denied the splash guards had been stolen)! On top of all this, they said I had to replace an expensive major part of my car, which did not help fix the horrible vibration and noise problem underneath my car. I gave up on them, and went to a local garage and the mechanic informed me that my muffler was detached - that was what was causing the vibration and noise - and that I didn't need to replace that major part the the Perry service manager and repair crew said I did. You are not going to believe this! I purchased a new SUV from Perry Ford Mazda and wanted to return it 4 days later for another model. I could not believe Tom Zimmerman said OK. Mani Sarani, Finance Direc from Perry Ford Mazda and wanted to return it 4 days later for another model. I could not believe Tom Zimmerman said OK. Mani Sarani, Finance Director, refunded my money and drew up new loan docs for a new XLT Escape. Leonardo Marques patiently helped me set up and sync my new Blue Tooth and sync the Sirius radio. Here comes the good part. I was about to drive off a very happy customer when Mani Sarani comes out and introduces me to his banker who was visiting from Wells Fargo Bank. He says they were able to lower my interest rate by 1 percent. Mani then went to the trouble to draw up loan docs again (3rd time) and make my payments even lower. Can you imagine a car dealership volunteering to lower your payments after you have already signed docs and are about ready to drive off. This is after they agreed to take back a 4 day old car without a penalty. These guys are good!!! More
I had been shopping for a while into I ran into Andrew Triant at Perry. We bought a new 2011 MKZ and were extremely satisfied with the level of service that we were given. Andrew had responded to an inquiry that we had sent to the dealership within 5 minutes of hitting the send button and was quite efficent in answering all the questions we had!!! We have had quite a few unpleasant experiences with dealers and that is why we were reluctant to come into the dealership before we got all the information we needed. After speaking with this pleasurable young man we felt confident in coming in. When we arrived Andrew had all the paperwork filled in and even had a couple cups of coffee for me and my wife just the way we had told him, one cream and sugar and one black. If it weren't for Andrew and his attention to detail, we may still be trying to find the right person to help with our needs. Thank you Andrew and Perry ford for all the help. We love our new car. I've been bugging these guys for years. Been slowly shopping around for a used or new Escape forever. I was actually in a hurry, so it was a lot of pressure for buying my first brand new car, but everyone was immensely helpful. They offered a very fair price for my trade-in without the usual "low-ball" opening offer. Also, Andrew and Jerry gave me the time to test drive several models until I found the right driving experience ( I am real picky). I am a "frequent-flyer" at the New Car Dealerships in the Santa Barbara and SOCAL area, and this was the best shopping experience in some years. My recommendation: give these guys a chance before heading South to the mega-dealers in LA - you might be pleasantly surprised with the deal, and the level of personal care, right here in Santa Barbara!!! Andrew, Spencer and Tom were fun to work with through our car buying process. They were attentive but didn't drive me crazy with too many phone calls. He was on vacation when we went back in to test drive the Mazda 3, so Spencer helped us.Once we decided to purchase the car, Tom worked with me to get a fair price. It was actually an enjoyable experience. My daughter and I laughed a lot with Spencer while waiting for the deal to be written up. I would definitely feel good about going back to Perry Mazda to purchase cars in the future. More
