Three weeks ago, my compressor in my Acura stopped working. I called at least 5 service centers before going to Perro's. All the other service centers where too busy to get my car in at 2 o clock on a working. I called at least 5 service centers before going to Perro's. All the other service centers where too busy to get my car in at 2 o clock on a Thursday afternoon, but Perro's said they would. From the start, I had a great experience. The price for diagnosing the problem was 40 dollars less than all other competitors. Being a woman in my 20's, I have NO CLUE about anything having to do with cars, but Johnny actually showed me the process of diagnosing the vehicle. Unfortunate for me, the compressor has siezed, and I immediately know this was going to be an expensive job. I immediately got on my Blackberry to find out the price of a used compressor, which was about 325.00- But Perro's was actually able to get me one for 225.00. I was told the because the compressor was a used part, it would not be warrantied by the company it was being purchased from, but I still agreed and I moved forward with getting my car repaired. About 2 weeks later, I began experiencing 'hot spots' on the AC and my car began making funny noises. I took it back to Perro’s and I was told to bring it back in another day when I had more time. By the time I got back into the shop, my AC was completely out, and my car was making horrible noises. I left my car there, only to find out a few hours later that my AC Compressor had literally blown up. At this point I was horrified, and expected to hear the worst- that I would have to buy a whole new one... but instead, Perro's made the situation right actually BOUGHT A NEW COMPRESSOR OUT OF POCKET, and has assisted me by issuing me a credit so I will come back. Being a woman, it can be intimidating going into a mechanical shop, and having to worry that I might be taken advantage of, but at Perro's not only was I shown exactly what was going to happen to my car, but I was treated fairly and honestly. I have to say that throughout this process not only did i receive superb customer service, but I learned a bit about cars! Perro's did everything to make the situation right- although they didn't have to, because I WAS TOLD about the part not being warranties- BUT they ended up taking care of everything. I will definetly recommend Perro’s again and again, and specially to my clueless girlfriends who have no clue about cars (like myself) THANKS!!! More
Perro's has been in business for at least 20 years, that says alot. I purchased my first vehicle from them and the car ran great. I did have a minor problem which they fixed immediately for nothing. I als says alot. I purchased my first vehicle from them and the car ran great. I did have a minor problem which they fixed immediately for nothing. I also recently had a minor cosmetic issue that needed to be repaired. I stopped by Perros before they were officially opened. Mr.Perro came outside to look at me car and told me he would take care of it. Within 24 hrs my car was was fixed and painted to perfection. As busy as he was he took the time to do a minor job in a quick period of time. I don't know the Perro's personally but I do know it's a family owned business. In this day and age of big business, I like family owned. I will do business with them again. Linda Cantwell More
I've read the two other ratings and I have to tell you it sounds like a completely different opertion than what I have experienced. I have been doing business with the Perro family for years and have never sounds like a completely different opertion than what I have experienced. I have been doing business with the Perro family for years and have never once been dissatisfied with their used car offerings or their service. Not to say that there have never been issues, but when they tell you that they'll take care of something if it breaks, you can trust that they will absolutely follow-thru. Several cars purchased over the years and service performed on my Dodge Ram pickup (purchased before I knew the family from another dealer), Mercedes S430 (purchased from Perro's), my daughter's Ford Taurus (gift to her from a friend). Service has included engine, transmission, exhaust, suspension, electrical & body work. I've recommended them to other and have heard others recommend them as well. No issues here!! So, overall, a very versatile sales and service organzation, with fair pricing and a very hospitable, friendly and trustworthy family running the show. More
Five months ago, I bought a vehicle from Perro's. It had a 30 day warranty. After driving it for a week or so, the alternator seized up and ruined the serpentine belt. Perro's agreed to replace the alternat a 30 day warranty. After driving it for a week or so, the alternator seized up and ruined the serpentine belt. Perro's agreed to replace the alternator but refused to change the belt, which wasn't broken, but it was badly burned and cracked from the friction of the alternator. They had the car in their shop for about four days! After getting it back, I had the vehicle inspected. It FAILED due to headlight, ball joint, steering and a couple other little issues. I brought it back to Perro's. They had the car for about a week and said they made all the repairs. It re-inspected successfully. Yesterday, my wife was about to get on Rt 146 when the ball joint that they had worked on, let go and the wheel fell off. I had the car towed to a repair shop (not Perro's) and was told that the wheel hub assembly, axle and wheel bearing were all badly damaged when the wheel fell off. Obviously the broken ball joints also need to be replaced. Had this happened on the highway, she could have involved in a very serious accident. It will cost a minimum of $1200.00 to make the repairs. I feel that Perro's sales is sleazy and their mechanics are incompetent. I won't bring the car to them for repair and after five months I doubt they're obligated to cover any of the damages to my car anyway, but I CAN discourage anyone in the market for a used car from doing business with them. Hopefully this review turns atleast a few prospective customers away from Perro's. More
I had the worst experience ever there. They told me that the car i bought from them was covered under a 30 day warrenty, then when the tranismision went 3 weeks later they said that it wasn't covered under the car i bought from them was covered under a 30 day warrenty, then when the tranismision went 3 weeks later they said that it wasn't covered under any warranty. The car i bought was twice as much as it was it's value was, and i tryed to trade it for a different one but the only one they had was one for half of what i paid. They never returned my calls, and when i did called someone had said that the perosn i was looking for wasn't there, so i called later and the person i was looking for said they had been waiting all day for me to call. Alot of things kept breaking on my car and when i got my car back after they fixed it something else would break. They would tell me something one day and the next day they would tell something competley differnert and denie what they said the day before. More
