Performance Honda responded

Mr. Beinkemper, On your initial visit, we followed Honda’s protocol and resurfaced the rotors at no charge. Since the vehicle had around 28,000 miles, it was unlikely that the rotors were defective. If there was a defect, it would have occurred much sooner. Also, we noticed that the vehicle has been regularly serviced by an aftermarket company, and that it had only been in our service department twice for the rotor concern. A frequent cause of rotors becoming warped is when the lug nuts are ‘over torqued’, and may to be blame on the facility that is doing your service work. It is a very real possibility that this is the cause of the problem. Since you purchased the vehicle from us, we still tried to help by splitting the cost with you. I’m sorry that the offer wasn’t to your satisfaction. Matt Lockwood General Manager 937-434-9500
