Some of the Car Fax's of their inventory show this." Perfect Auto responds: CARFAX gathers information from state police, service and body shops. CARFAX unintentionally omits information that could be helpful to both dealers and consumers. There are many accident free vehicles on the road that are haunted by "bad CARFAX reports" simply because panicked motorists decided to report harmless, no damage fender benders to local police. Regardless of the information disclosed by CARFAX, we have a FULL DISCLOSURE POLICY. If we are aware of a prior incident that presumably resulted in frame/unibody/structural damage, we share the information with buyers. We do not shy away from tarnished CARFAX reports. Each and every CARFAX report is available on our website regardless of the content. We encourage people to purchase a vehicle as if we were in 1997. Years ago, people would revert to the basics - properly inspecting a vehicle to ensure that it is safe and sound. Like other dealers we properly recondition our vehicles to make them aesthetically acceptable. We do this as part of our sales strategy - not to hide, conceal and camouflage body work. flyer25 writes, "When I questioned the salesman why the bumper had been repainted, the reply was 'the bumper was scratched'. I later found that my credit union ran a different history report with AutoCheck and found it had body and frame damage." Perfect Auto writes, We explained to Flyer25 that the vehicle was previously involved in an accident or incident that resulted in paint work or body work. Flyer25 acknowledged the aforementioned statement with his own signature. Flyer25 is holding a copy of the written disclosure. We offered Flyer25 to use our financing to secure a lower rate but he declined. Flyer25 did not return the car for over one week and held the keys hostage for two weeks.

Do you mean to tell us the scratches and dents miraculously emerged over a period of time? The cosmetic imperfections are result of daily driving. There are two types of scratches, surface imperfections that have not completely penetrated the clear coat and blemishes embedded in the clear coat. Surfaces scratches can be removed with a high speed buffer while deep scratches can only be touched up. If the vehicle was scratched up you would have taken notice when you viewed it. Dings, dents and dimples can be removed with paintless dent removal (PDR). PDR is 100 percent permanent. On the contrary to your belief, there is no way that panels previously repaired with PDR could return to their original damaged state. Thank you for acknowledging that we do not let CARFAX dictate our buying patterns or overall business strategy. CARFAX is not an auction house or wholesaler. CARFAX did not previously own any of the vehicles advertised for sale. We are not legally or ideologically bound by the information that CARFAX gathers from its sources. Here's an experiement for you. Crash your vehicle into a guard rail, tree or post and immediately drive to a body shop. Do not inform local police of the incident. Check your CARFAX report in six months and it will show "no accidents." These occurences take place everyday and CARFAX has no way of collecting this information. Your next vehicle may as well be have a clean CARFAX report and bent frame. We acquire cars based on thorough expert inspection as opposed to a consumer tool. Wear and tear is expected over time. If you are annoyed by blemishes, you may be better off buying a brand new car. Nonetheless, you are more than welcome to visit us for an assessment of the vehicle's panels.
