We were going to buy a pre-owned Civic, but Charlie gave such a good, low-keyed presentation of the 2010 Civic LX that my wife and I bought a new car instead of a pre-owned car. The price seemed reasonable, such a good, low-keyed presentation of the 2010 Civic LX that my wife and I bought a new car instead of a pre-owned car. The price seemed reasonable, and we were able to negotiate a bit on the final figure with no pressure. All in all it was a pleasurable experience, not like our memories of buying previous vehicles. It's not that Penske is bad - just that there are other Honda dealerships in the area that shine so much brighter. I bought a Honda at Penske a few years ago and they did not want to honor the interne Honda dealerships in the area that shine so much brighter. I bought a Honda at Penske a few years ago and they did not want to honor the internet price given to me through email. Then, they wanted to give me a LOT less money for my trade in than the trade-in kbb. Then, they didn't have the color I wanted and weren't willing to get it. I still ended up buying the car from them because I was pressed for time. They didn't really prepare the car right and get all the plastic wrapping off of it very well. It just wasn't a fun experience overall, and it took hours and hours even though I had an internet price. Since then, I have bought or helped family members buy three cars. Every time, we have gone to Penske to give them a shot. Every time, Penske has blown the sale with us. Once, because they wouldn't deal at all on their used cars. $500 off the sticker on your used car? That's not much of a deal, but they acted like it was killing them. I felt like we would get nowhere. Then, because they wouldn't get the color we wanted, although it was available. What was irritating in that situation was that they "checked in a database" and it said "there are none left in the color you want." I called two dealers on my cell phone and the second one I called had the color we wanted. They beat Penske's price, too. The other dealership said that the database isn't updated often enough to be sure of what color cars are where. A salesman who wanted to make us happy would have made a few phone calls, instead of trying to tell us that the database told it all, just so he could sell a car that was in stock. The third time, Penske was $1400 higher than quotes from two other dealers, and they were kind of rude about it when I told them what the other dealers had offered me. They are local, so I tried to give them a chance, but I felt like I was being accused of lying about the price at the other dealerships. I was honest and polite in my dealings with them, and I don't really feel like I got the same from them. I'm not going to bother with Penske for a fourth time. However, I have liked their service department in the past. After my experiences with car sales, I wonder about the service department, too. More
After being less than pleased with a few other dealerships, I chose to stop by Penske Honda to inquire about a new Honda Civic. The price quoted was the lowest I found around town and the custome dealerships, I chose to stop by Penske Honda to inquire about a new Honda Civic. The price quoted was the lowest I found around town and the customer service was excellent. Everyone I talked to was extremely helpful and not pushy. Truly a great car buying experience. Even the business manager was great. He simply went over the "extras" and said "you can decide what you want, whatever you don't want is fine too"...no pressure. I HIGHLY recommend this dealership. Great great service! More
What a wonderful job Penske Honda did. The prices where excellent but the customer service was even better. There were no hassels what so ever. Everything was explained in detail and they keep all promis excellent but the customer service was even better. There were no hassels what so ever. Everything was explained in detail and they keep all promises made. Before you buy your next car make sure you check these guys out. They take away that stereotypical car dealer atmosphere and made buying a car an enjoyable experience (a first in my lifetime). More
We have had a horrible experience with this dealer. The title application had 3 mistakes on it... our name was spelled wrong, our phone number was wrong, and the state that we live in was wrong. Unfortun title application had 3 mistakes on it... our name was spelled wrong, our phone number was wrong, and the state that we live in was wrong. Unfortunately this last mistake changed the registration process completely. When we tried to contact the dealer, it took 8 phone calls to get anyone to respond. I also contacted our sales person, who did not respond to us either. Chris Snow told us he would be overnighting the documents we needed, and we finally got paperwork from him 5 days later. However, the paperwork he sent us was not what he said he would send. After several more calls, we have not heard back from them, and have had to start looking elsewhere for people to help us with this paperwork nightmare created by Penske Honda. Do NOT use this dealer. More
