Dishonest business that lacks integrity and respect. Brought our Toyota in for a transmission recall that exceeded the coverage date. Service did not follow service bulletin, “we don’t need to” and charged over $4,000, skipping steps outlined for repair. Car brought back when we noticed items were skipped on the repair, as well as loose bolts, a hanging protective cover, software not updated, magnets not installed. Told that they do not follow service bulletins but would fix the issues, update the software and install the transmission pan magnets. Car returned with on-going ratting noise from engine area when accelerating. Noticed that the car was possibly leaking fluid. Did not trust work at Penn Toyota so brought car to our mechanic who noted transmission fluid under the engine, confirmed rattling noise and a leak in the vicinity of transfer case. Recommended to come back to follow up to check the leak. Brought back to Penn Toyota for fluid leak and rattling noise. No rattling when Toyota test drove the car the next day. Told the transfer case was leaking oil and denied it was related to their work. (See Rav4 forums, damaged transfer case happens in this scenario, it gets damaged in the repair process if not repaired properly.) Brought the Rav4 back to my mechanic for inspection and follow up on leak. Confirmed transfer case leak said to return to Toyota or transmission shop. Brought to transmission shop (since Toyota would not admit fault) who said the transfer case is leaking from the repair at Penn Toyota. They said to contact Toyota Corporate to resolve. Called corporate who said we would get a call back from Penn in “one business day" to resolve the issue. Multiple calls to corporate to escalate with Penn, who they contacted. Never received a call back from Penn. Ultimately told dealers are independent. Reported to BBB, still no reply from Penn Toyota. At this point, tried to resolve: directly with Penn, through corporate and via BBB. Car taken to two mechanics – neither will repair – both say this is due to Toyota’s negligence; transmission/transfer case is damaged by Toyota and that for 4K+ transmission should have been rebuilt and repaired properly. At this point, we are in need of a new car due to Toyota’s negligence, lack of responsibility or ownership of their error and their dishonest and cowardly leadership. We tried numerous times to have this addressed only to be told they would “put in a good word” if we wanted to buy a new car. Zero stars would be too high of a rating. Our family has purchased multiple cars from this dealership, never again. Bring your car to service here with your eyes open and check your repairs. This dealership lacks pride in their work, their service and lacks any sense of respect or dignity in treatment of long-time customers. More

The actual buying experience went fine. Great even. However I have had issues with the car since day 1. This dealer has done nothing to fix it. The departments clearly don't communic Great even. The departments clearly don't communicate and my favorite was when I drove down there after being told there'd be a shuttle to take me home and there was not. So instead I waited two hours for them to fix the issue because I was told the part had come in just to be told the part hadn't come in. If I do buy a Toyota again it's definitely not this dealer.
