I'd been looking for months to purchase a new car, calling every Hyundai dealership in San Diego because the car was a limited release. I was ecstatic when I finally heard that Pedder was expecting a shipment and the exact model and trim that I wanted was on the list. Immediately, my wife and I drove over to Pedder to work with a sales person and ultimately agreed to a deal, and put $500 to contract the vehicle, which we haven't even seen. Two days later, the sales person texted me with an expected arrival date for the vehicle and it was a month away. 3 days later, I'm at work and I receive a message from Pedder that that car had arrived and I would need to come in today to purchase the vehicle or they would void the contract and sell it to someone else. I informed them that I was very anxious to get the new car, but had a full day of work and that my wife had just traveled that morning to take care of a sick family member and would not be back for about 3 days. I requested to pick up the vehicle tomorrow so I had time to arrange my financing through the credit union and get a ride to Poway. The sales person informed me that they would offer me an option contract, where i would come in that day and put down $10k, which would allow a few days to sort out financing through my own bank and would allow for my wife to return from out of state. I agreed and had a coworker drive me to the dealership after work and drop me off. After about 30 minutes, the sales person informed me that the option contract that he offered me was not available and that he had given me the wrong information. I was told that since my wife was not present, I would need to purchase the vehicle without her on the loan, and now the original agreement we had in in place was void. I was told that I would need to finance through the dealership, without my wife, if I wanted to purchase the vehicle, and that all I was able to put as a down payment was what I had on me that day. This would have resulted in an increased interest rate, and a huge monthly payment. I requested to have the paperwork overnighted to her for signature or to have her sign electronically, but was denied. I then asked if I would be able to leave $10k down, return the next day with another $10k to put down on the car to keep the payments low. I wanted the agreement that we had already put in place! I was told that my wife wasn't there so that was off the table. I asked if I could give them $10k, and they could hold the car for 3 days until my wife returned. That's when I was approached by the Sales manager, Zain Khalaf, who took the keys off the table and told me to "get the F"@k out!" I was in shock. He proceeded to call me names and told me that he will sell the car to someone else in 5 minutes. Zain invaded my personal space, pointing his finger in my face, trying to intimidate me by being aggressive, vulgar, and calling me a liar. I was shaking! I've never in my life been spoken to this way. Terrible experience! Go elsewhere!!!! More

This dealership does not sell vehicles for their advertised prices, they only “make deals” if the vehicle for sale includes optional additions or gap and a service contract. I wanted to buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe from this dealership, I test drove it on a Wednesday, came back the next day to start the paperwork to purchase the vehicle, while working out the details I offered to buy it for the exact price it was listed for $17,112 plus tax, license, fees - this dealership REFUSED to sell the suv unless it included optional additions to the vehicle or optional other adds / either route would have added $2,500-3,000 to the cost of the suv. The salesperson had the audacity to say the cars already been discounted to a loser price and the dealership has to “make money on it someway”. How about don’t discount your vehicles to prices below what you’re willing to sell them for. I get dealer mark ups, dealerships have to make money just like any other business, I get it, I’ve also been a car salesman at a Honda dealership a few years ago so I understand that it’s not a requirement to get the “optional additions” or “optional protection plans”. So this dealership was lousy, salesperson was rather rude, and the experience was not good. I recommend you go anywhere else, any other dealership for your future vehicle purchases. Robert Gerlach is the Sales Manager, and at no point did I speak with him but the salesperson I spoke with and was working with did give me Roberts card. More

Advertised price on Peddler web site and all used car sites $13,932. I called the dealer about my interest in a new vehicle. I asked them about any "market adjustments" and required addons they had. I was told there were none. When I arrived, the test drive went well and the representative was very knowledgeable about the car. So far so good. I decided I liked the car (the same vehicle I called about the day before) and when we sat down to discuss price. I was given a paper that showed over $10k above sticker, between a simple markup of $8000 and approximately $2000 in scam add-ons, including $500 for nitrogen tires (the air you breathe is 80% nitrogen) and $800 for fabric protection. These add-ons are not optional and will do nothing except line the pockets of the dealer. DO NOT shop at this dealer, do not buy from them. They will rip you off and have no interest in an honest sales experience. More
I Just recently when to purchase a car from Pedder. I called on the phone and asked if they markup manufacture prices and they said NO. After test driving the car they presented a price sheet with a markup and over $2300 of overpriced extras to include Alarm ($995), Nitrogen filled tires ($495) , and paint/fabric protection ($895). They said these are all required to buy the car and NOT optional. This dealer will rip you off. They are NOT up front and honest. They are out to make as much money on the sale at your expense and sell you unnecessary items. More
