Have bought 4 cars over the last 15 years at this dealership. Always have gone there for service, even though 2 other Honda dealers are closer to me. NEVER again. My last service visit I was charged dealership. Always have gone there for service, even though 2 other Honda dealers are closer to me. NEVER again. My last service visit I was charged $150 to tell me what was wrong with my car. This charge was NOT applied to the repair charge. I was told this was a "new thing". A new way to rip off customers. Then charged me 4 hours at 150/hr to repair the filler neck on my gas tank. Way too much time and $$$ for this repair. Bill was over $1000 to replace a filler neck to my gas tank. A repair that should never need done unless there was an accident. I am done with Pearson Honda and any Pearson dealership. There are too many other choices out there. More
I tried to buy a car from them years ago, and was quoted $5k over another dealer so I walked out. They didn't care to earn my business 3 years ago. Today, I called to inquire about a part for my Honda. $5k over another dealer so I walked out. They didn't care to earn my business 3 years ago. Today, I called to inquire about a part for my Honda. I was given a price ($100), and asked for the part number relating to the part so I could confirm fitment to my car. I was told "We don't give those out." I'm sorry, you don't give out the part number to a Honda part? I asked why, and the parts person told me its "company policy." Honda Part numbers are NO secret, or proprietary information. I asked why; and he told me it was "to not help customers shop around and get a better price." I asked on parts? and he was dismissive and rude, and told me to feel free to all another dealer. Looking now, I see why; they quoted me "Around $100" for the part, whereas online its $65 from other dealerships online. Ridiculous. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PEARSON. More
I dropped off my car a 2011 Honda CRV at this dealership for a rear differential assessment. My car is making noise when driven over 45 miles and the rear differential is making noise as teeth slipping. I d for a rear differential assessment. My car is making noise when driven over 45 miles and the rear differential is making noise as teeth slipping. I dropped off my car at a Honda dealership because I bought a powertrain warranty when I bought this car. For my surprise, they are requiring me to replace differential fluid first for them to assess the rear differential. Why should I replace the fluid in a part that will certainly be replaced and I will have to add fluid again. So much waste of money. This is not the kind of counseling people should get from a Honda dealership. More
I would have left NO stars if that option had been available. I will NEVER let Pearson Honda do ANY service work on my vehicle. Nor, due to their dishonest tactics in the service dept., would I ever p available. I will NEVER let Pearson Honda do ANY service work on my vehicle. Nor, due to their dishonest tactics in the service dept., would I ever purchase a vehicle from them. The service dept. knew just the right key words to say to the warranty people, so that they would not agree to fix my engine. This was a problem that had a class action suit against Honda and then an extended warranty to fix the problem - all before I purchased my Odyssey. The service dept. simply did not want to do the work, after they told me that the Warranty people would not pay for it, they never asked if I wanted to pay to fix the problem, because they didn't want to do it. Period. Plus it took an hour to read the codes and they charged me $66.50, just to read the codes. Ridiculous. Any one else would have read the codes for free. More
Been coming to Pearson Honda for over a decade since they were still on Midlothian and now Hull St. Service has deteriorating for the last couple of years. Yesterday brought our 2015 Pilot for scheduled 8 am were still on Midlothian and now Hull St. Service has deteriorating for the last couple of years. Yesterday brought our 2015 Pilot for scheduled 8 am oil change and asked to add air to tire as tire sensor was on. Oil change took about 2 hours. Service advisor hands me inspection checklist and told me tires require immediate attention. She told me that she will call me with tire options and that I can go ahead and pay for the oil change. Started my vehicle and tire sensor was still on. As I was driving home, noticed that service noted leaking shock and that it needed immediate attention. This was not mentioned by the service advisor (she said later she was new). My past experience with Pearson is that they will usually recommend repair the same time if it needed immediate attention. But this leaking wasn't mentioned. Called service department but no one was picking up. Left message, sent on line request for appointment. Finally someone picked up and asked appointment for leak to be fixed. Was told they would have to speak with service advisor. Service advisor calls and says I can drop off vehicle Sunday evening and they can work on it Monday. I clarified the date and she confirmed. Later that day someone calls and tells me that my appointment was Monday a week later. Told caller this wasn't what the service advisor told me and they couldn't work me in for something they found "required immediate attention". Experience was very frustrating. I expected more from their customer service but I shouldn't be surprised since their quality of service, like I said, has been declining. In the past, they would ask how can we make it right if there was service that was unsatisfactory and they often do a good job fixing it. But not this time and those days maybe gone. More

Beware of the service department, the Pearson Honda dealership and the quality of "wearable" parts installed by the dealer. Purchased a new 2018 Honda CRV from Pearson Honda in November of 2017. On Oct 8th of 2020 the service department conducted scheduled maintenance and a VA state inspection on the vehicle. The rear tires were excessively worn down (1 32nds) and we were recommended to be replaced. These tires were new with the vehicle and were always used in normal driving conditions with 19,967 miles on the vehicle. Honda would not cover the replacement of the tires and charged my wife $299.98 to install 2 new tires, matching the original tires that were installed. Then charged $89.95 to align all 4 wheels. At no point was my wife given a choice of tires to install on the vehicle and no information regarding the brand/model/manufacturer of the tire was provided... no warranty information was provided. So to recap I just paid $389.93 for 2 new tires and an alignment on my new 2018 CRV with less than 20,000 miles. Keep in mind I have used this service department for all my vehicle maintenance since the vehicle is still under warranty and have followed all recommended maintenance. Furthermore the service department seemed to think there was no problem installing new tires on a vehicle that had front tires that were worn to 6 32nds on a vehicle that is all-wheel drive (this was even recommended). All of this is completely unacceptable and differs from most mechanical recommendations for all-wheel drive vehicles. When I asked if there was a mechanical issue with the car that could lead to the excessive wear on the rear tires (on the phone after the shop visit) I was told that they didn't check because no one told them to... I was understandably confused. We take our vehicle to the service department to have them recommend the best course of action to maintain the vehicle, as I am not a car mechanic and don't have the expertise to recommend or detect issues. later the service department "advisor" revised the statement to, we checked all the normal causes of this and nothing was wrong. So now I have two older tires that that are clearly poor quality, paid for 2 new bad quality tires to be installed 'to fix the problem'. All on a vehicle that is new, under warranty, and has less than 20,000 miles... I think the service department saw my wife and figured they could rack up a bill that would be paid with no complaint... I have called the service department and they seemed to think all of this is completely fine. However the parts department is going to call me in a few days, after contacting bridgestone to see if there is a warranty on the factory installed tires or even if there is anyways to reduce the cost of the new tires they just replaced (and I paid for in full). Keep in mind all of this is only because I called and was upset with the situation as is. My wife regretted going along with the recommendation but felt pressured to go along because the state inspection my not have passed... She was also there for 3 HOURS for a "scheduled appointment". This appointment was for an oil change and state inspection. I can't blame her for wanting to get out of there after waiting 3 hours. I will update my review if the situation changes Avoid the service department, and shop for your Honda at another dealership if you want the wearable parts (tires, brakes, etc.) on your vehicle to last longer than 20,000 without major service fees. Very happy with this service! I brought my car in for the 100,000 mile AC service. When I left, I felt very cold even with the settings in the same position I had left them! I real I brought my car in for the 100,000 mile AC service. When I left, I felt very cold even with the settings in the same position I had left them! I realized I had to keep turning the settings down because it was very cool air. The technician did a wonderful job, I just wished I had asked for his/her name. I am going to from now on! Working with Waylon is always such a pleasure!!! Even behind the mask, you can see the great smile. I trust him which I have only said of one other service representative in my 50 years of owning a car. Thank you! More
I was greeted by a pleasant gentleman when I pulled up. The sales person was great. The place clean. Warm beverages available. I'd rate Pearson Honda a 10 out of 10. The sales person was great. The place clean. Warm beverages available. I'd rate Pearson Honda a 10 out of 10. More
Refused to honor Honda prepaid service plan You better think twice before having your car serviced at Pearson Honda especially if you are from out of town and want to use your purchased service You better think twice before having your car serviced at Pearson Honda especially if you are from out of town and want to use your purchased service plan. Per the service manager, Pearson Honda WILL NOT honor a service plan purchased from a different Honda dealership . I purchased my Honda and a service plan from a dealership outside of the Richmond area, and went to have my Oil/filter change and tire rotation only to be informed they will not honor the coupon. It amazing how other Honda dealerships have accepted this PURCHASED service coupon without hesitation, but not Pearson Honda. I had been worn buy several local citizens to steer clear of Pearson Honda and now I know why. No worries on my end, as I will have my car serviced in Va Beach when I return home over the weekend. Out of state visitors beware. Bad business Pearson Honda. More
