I stopped by Peacock about a lil over a year ago after having a bad experience at Mullinax in Apopka. I was a customer at Mullinax for 20 years, and Thomas was so helpful, polite , and helped re-assure me having a bad experience at Mullinax in Apopka. Never Going Back BUYER BEWARE!!! I purchased my Ford F150 approx. 4 years ago from Don Reid Ford. I do not recall much about the purchase, so I’m assuming it wasn’t BUYER BEWARE!!! I purchased my Ford F150 approx. 4 years ago from Don Reid Ford. I do not recall much about the purchase, so I’m assuming it wasn’t a bad experience. I love my truck and have not experienced any issues with it up until last month. I noticed that I had to add more coolant to the radiator than normal and that the truck was shifting hard when I accelerated from a complete stop. My truck is currently at 73,000 miles. I purchased the extended warranty when I bought the truck. The extended warranty went up to 75,000 miles so that made me feel a little bit better about the issues. I also was in need of new tires. Prior to taking the truck in to be serviced, I called around for quotes on new tires. To my surprise, Don Reid Ford gave me the best quote. I spoke with David from services on the phone and he quoted me $679 for 4 new tires and install. It also came with a $70 mail in rebate and I was given the option for a second $70 rebate if I put the tires on credit. I then scheduled my car for service after getting off the phone with David. So later that day, I dropped my truck off and was assigned to Ryan in the service department. I spoke with him at the dealership and gave him the price quote I received on the tires and explained the issues I was having with the truck. He told me he would call me later on after the mechanics looked at the truck. Just as I was getting home, Ryan called. The truck had not been looked at yet, but he was calling in reference to the tires. He could not find any tires that met the description and price I gave him. I was told that I misinterpreted the information from the previous quote. I told him to speak to David and call me back. He decided to put me on hold while he talked to David. He gets back on the phone and proceeds to tell me that David did not recall talking to anyone about tires that day. So within a matter of 5 minutes, I’ve been called incompetent and a liar. At this point I tell him to forget about the tires. After the $200 rope a dope upsell and the exclusion of the rebate, every other quote I received was better than what Don Reid Ford offered. However, I still needed the other work done. I get a call the next morning. Ryan starts off by giving me price quotes. $550 to replace a few radiator hoses and flush the system and $250 to fix the shifting issue. I kindly remind him that my vehicle is under warranty. At this point he gets on his computer, looks up the info and tells me none of it is covered under warranty. So the extra money I paid on the extended warranty does not cover anything. I might understand if the vehicle was had been in an accident or if I mistreated it, but none of that has happened. Now I’m officially over Don Reid Ford’s service department and Ryan. I told him not to do anything with my truck. I will be calling another Ford dealership about the warranty and issues with my truck. If I get the run around by them, my next option will be calling Ford directly. If Ford will not my stand by their warranty, I will find my own mechanic. I will not give them another cent. As for my tires, Tires Plus will be getting my business for the 4 new tires. The bottom line is, I will never do business with Don Reid Ford again. Depending on what happens with the warranty and the truck’s current issues, I may never do business with Ford again. More
