I've been looking around for the past couple of weeks at Volvos. By the time I went out to Patrick Volvo I knew exactly which year, model, and price point I was agreeable to AND was pre-qualified. I knew my Volvos. By the time I went out to Patrick Volvo I knew exactly which year, model, and price point I was agreeable to AND was pre-qualified. I knew my numbers, I knew where I needed to be for the payment I want. When I found a car out there that fit all of my qualifications I drove from downtown after work to go kick the tires and make the deal. Keep in mind, I've been going to dealerships for the past couple of weeks and gotten, within reason, pretty much the same offers all around. I started going through the figures with Richard, the sales rep, and not only did they low ball me on my trade by $2,000 less than the other 4 dealerships I've visited, he told me that EVEN THOUGH I WAS PRE-QUALIFIED I would have to come up with $3,500 OUT OF POCKET! He then went on to explain (out loud!) that the car I had chosen was a "loss leader" and that it was just there to lure people into the dealership. In this climate I just cannot believe that dealerships are still pulling this crap. Send a message to Patrick Volvo that consumers are smarter than this. We're educated and will not tolerate underhanded business practices. SHOP ELSEWHERE. More
I was in and out of the dealership quickly. They stayed around afterhours to finish up the transaction even though I walked in at closing time on a Saturday. Very pleasant and upfront from the salespers around afterhours to finish up the transaction even though I walked in at closing time on a Saturday. Very pleasant and upfront from the salesperson to the business manager. If you have an offer at another dealership, take it here...they'll match it and treat you better. More
When my fiancé and I first got in contact with Patrick Volvo we were very excited because of the friendliness and seemingly reliable service that our sales rep showed to us. We wanted a 2005 Volvo Patrick Volvo we were very excited because of the friendliness and seemingly reliable service that our sales rep showed to us. We wanted a 2005 Volvo S40 with all of the optional packages (DVD navigation/sports-performance package/new rims/premium package/audio package) and luckily (or so we thought) Patrick Volvo had 3 with all of our requirements coming in on a truck in 3-4 days. He quoted us our sales price and we were astounded because when we originally purchased a 2005 Volvo s40 (with only the audio package) from Brian Bemis in Sycamore it total over $38,000 (note: the deal fell through with Brian Bemis because of absolutely terrible service after the purchase which is why we went to Patrick Volvo). Patrick Volvo gave us the car, a longer more comprehensive warranty, and a few other things for just over $36,000 and as the previous poster said we were also cash-paid in full customers. We placed a hold of +$6000 on the car so they wouldn’t sell it from under us and we waited. The whole deal went smooth, with our sales rep returning our phone calls on time and as expected.

Moving along. The weekend pasted and we expected to pick up the S40 on Monday as promised. No deal, truck was delayed but we were compensated $500. Alright we were not to upset because he promised at the absolute LATEST the car would be here on Wednesday, after all we were in the midst of a large snow storm. If the car wasn’t there by Wed. it was another $2000 in compensation. Wednesday came and went, still no car. We were frustrated but the sales rep assured us that this was a fluke.

A full week pasted and the promptness of his phone calls was diminishing. He compensated us for the accessories that we ordered and agreed to discuss further compensation soon after if the car was delayed even more.

Somewhere around the 15th call placed to his cell phone and his office with messages left each time we decided he might be ignoring us. After all, nearly two full weeks had pasted since the expected ETA. We continued to call into the third week and had no luck reaching anyone. By that time we decided that if we got a hold of someone that we most definitely deserved to be compensated upwards of $10,000 for this mess.

Third week passed and my fiancé and I gave up on it. It wasn’t until the 5th-6th week (and nearly 4 weeks of zero contact with the sales rep) that we contacted our lawyer and had her retrieve the $6000 hold that they required to keep the car.

Overall this was worse than the service of Brian Bemis that I mentioned earlier. The sales rep. told us they were a high class dealership that took care of their customers no questions asked. What a crock! I would NEVER advise anyone to go to this dealership for a car! More
