lack of internal communication The purchase was ok; nothing spectacular but nothing notable. My complaint centers on the staffs lack of communication with each other. You talk t The purchase was ok; nothing spectacular but nothing notable. My complaint centers on the staffs lack of communication with each other. You talk to "Joe" who doesn’t share the conversation with "Mike" even though the staff maintain a folder on you and your pending purchase. This lack of communication was exasperated when I was working with Andy from finance. Andy approached me while I was reviewing email on my phone waiting on the return of the sales person and my boyfriend who were in the parts department. Andy sticks his head in my face and says 'I hear you are waiting on me, I am Andy'. First, no one told me I was waiting on anyone and second I don't appreciate a stranger approaching me and placing their head in front of me unexpectedly. At Andy’s direction, I followed him into his office where I expressed my frustration with my purchase and a desire to expedite the fiscal process; we paid cash for our vehicle so the final checkout should be quick. Andy went right into a defense mood with “I had nothing to do with any of the past negative experience; this is the first time we met isn’t it.” This was not the first time a Pat O'Brien employee went on the defense about communication. I doubt the employees at Pat O’Brien have taken a communication/customer satisfaction class in the last decade. The response I anticipated was "I am sorry to hear that your experience has been negative but let me do my best to correct and resolve the situation'. Instead Andy aggravated me more. Andy was right he was not the reason I was annoyed when I arrived to take delivery of my vehicle but he represents a culture of unaccountability at Pat O’Brien. During the paper work process, Andy did not have knowledge of the final vehicle sale price, i.e. for tax calculation, he did not know the name the vehicle was to be titled in nor could he locate my family discount though it was in my file in front of him. The only positive thing I can state about my Andy experience was that he did not waste my time going over extended warranty offers. Buying a car for me is unpleasant because I hate to assume debt and feel that dealerships are often out to swindle you. I don't think O'Brien swindled me but they did not make me feel confident in there customer service approach. More
