On March 1st my well now previous car had decided it pretty much had seen its last day. On my way to work that day the check engine light started blinking at me. She had seen better days. I took her int pretty much had seen its last day. On my way to work that day the check engine light started blinking at me. She had seen better days. I took her into a local mechanic who looked at me and said it was time. So I requested Tuesday off of work so I could go to dealership. I chose parkway becuase I had been there before and they had seemed nice. Willing to work with my low credit score. I tried my hardest to do as much as I could over the phone. I contacted Ted Harvey and I explained to him I would like a SUV becuase i have a large family (myself, husband, teenager-17 who is 6'3" 305#, daughter -6 and my youngest-2yr old boy), in my family 2 of the children are still required by law to be in car seats. With my size family a SUV is the best fit. I also told Ted that I am "spoiled" and the car had to have remote start. I did the credit application over the phone, Ted contacted me right away and said he knows he can help me. My only other option I could see at that moment was a buy here pay here lot who rips you off. Well at least there you KNOW you are being ripped off. So I got excited to say the least I can get a real car. One worth of the rediculous high interest I have to pay from the hit of my under 500 credit score (due to 2 divorces). I rush outside cleaned out my Buick and rushed to the dealership. Ted has me sit with the complimentary coffee they offer and sign some paperwork, get copy of all my paystubs, my id, taxes, etc.... He did mention a SUV probably isnt going to be able to hapen because of my credit score ( issue 1) After aprox 10 minutes or so Ted comes to get me and asks me to take this Chrysler 200 for a test drive. A little confused as it was NOTHING of what I had asked for I took the vehicle for a spin. It did remind me alot of my 2001 dodge stratus I had years ago (brand new from Galenas dodge-oh i loved that car). I did notice while on test drive the car was not cleaned. Pet hair all over seats, crumbs, smudge on window. I figured surely they would go have it cleaned. Upon my return the the dealership and speaking to my husband knowing it is nothing of what we wanted/needed unfortunatly it "is what it is". I have to be able to get to my job daily, as I am the bread winner in my family. To continue to bring in the bread I need a reliable car. We would figure out at a later time how we would transport our family all around (most likely always taking 2 cars, because have you ever tried to put a 6'3" 305 lb person in the back seat of a 200?). I told Ted upon my return I would prefer NEW, he advised that was not possible. I told Ted again I need remote start (yes I am spoiled). I also pointed out that it was dirty. Ted took me back the the cubby of doom and proceeded with now the negotiations.. what type of payment, how much down yada yada. I told Ted I have no money down and my trade in (which by the way I had already told him on the PHONE and earlier), I explained I could not go above $300 (and truthfully that was a stretch hence why i was trying to lease). Ted had me initial some hand written scribble something or another and went to the "office". I had to go to a doctor apointment and asked Ted if he could continue the loan approval process NOW with out me there. He scooted into the office and said sure it should be ok they would call me if there were any issues. But if I didnt hear back from them all was good and come back. After the doctor I returned back to the dealership. Ted greats me and says CONGRADULATIONS YOUR HAVE A CAR. hmmmmm Go into cubby of doom, and get all the info. Does the car have remote start? Ted: No but we can work that out.me: Was the car cleaned? ted: is it dirty? me: umm yea ted i told you that! ted: well when can you bring it back? I will get it cleaned (folk this is when I should have RANNNNNN). Me: Ted I work, my late night at snap on tools is your late night. I work in Rochester Hills Ted 8-5 most days thursdays 8-8 and saturdays 8-3. In comes Miss Priss Finance lady, ok lets do your paperwork (mind you I am on the phone with my car insurance still trying to get it all transfered but everyone in this dealership was worried about leaving at 6). So MISS PRISS takes me to her office and starts the paperwork process, and asked do you want a warranty? Oh well MISS PRISS TED states that I had one still for 2 years and drivetrain for 5 years. She advises no you have a few months and drive train for 2. BUT folks she can sell me the LIFE TIME warranty and it will take my payment from #351.42 (i think thats the exact) to $437.19 (OMG wow what a bargin. so lets break it down. 1 used car 2011 low miles 20987 2. 21.92% interest 3. payment already $52 more than I wanted 4. Lied to by TED on warranty 5. Still on the phone with my insurance company being rushed through this process because they want to go home I am sure. 6. get NO proof of purchase at time of the purchase. BUT CONGRATS YOU OWN IT. Meet with Ted and 1 of the used car office deal makers (not sure of tech title) they proudly give me the keys and say have a good night. Yeah no not at all! *I get into DIRTY vehilce b/c apparently the over paid sales guys cant run a vacumm *No proof of purchase but they tell me my plate is transfered (IDK that it is b/c i still have not recieved the registration, cant go to secratary of state to get one b/c i have no proof its MINE) *The gas light comes on-are you kidding me I text Ted and he pulls up in another car asking me to bring it back tomorrow, sure Ted b/c I dont have a JOB. *I put gas in the DIRTY car and I then notice that as I open and close the door that TED ever so carefully opened for me before for test drive rubs and pops out the fender. hmmm *I was suppose to get a carfax on vehicle -- NEGATIVE *NO remote start *Oil life light comes on prompting me to change my oil before I even GET home 6 miles away. *It starts to rain--turn on the wipers and they are stripped and wethered (this is a joke) *All the tires are LOW on air. The very next day I obviously complain- 3/5/2014 Manager George calls me back, wow hes wonderful he is going to look at the car and "make it right". After another morning on the phone I call my husband and i tell him. It is best that you (he is much calmer than myself) come and get this car and take it to see George. My husband drops his work, drives to Rochester hills MI to pick up my car and take it to Clinton Township Parkway. He goes in to see George and Ted whom both already have the laundry list of issues. They of course blow smoke up his behind, but they say they show in their magic book that they did a oil change on it previously. They changed the wipers and even gave him the old ones. and for the love of god someone there knows how to push a vacumm in a car because they cleaned it. They confirmed the door was messed up and had body shop throw a quick fix on it and throw touch up paint on it. (psst it still isnt totaly fixed). and then they discount the new install of remote start to $100. They filled the tank (wow thanks b/c I just put the last $30 I had in it so how much gas did you give me?) My husband Ok so I deciede she is mine I am going to love her. On 3/08/2014 Take car in for the remote start install and spend another $100, again because I am spoiled and like to be warm! TODAY 3/14/14 Change oil light remote start that was installed on 3/14 wont work tire light on to put air in tires again and of course the door that still pops. I am beyond disgusted with this dealership, lack of customer care and resolving the issue. I have a car with NO paperwork, that if memory serves me correctly as MISS PRISS rushed me thru process I paid 14,505 for @ 21.92% apr for 72 months. Can you say bendover sweatheart because this is going to hurt. And now we are not going to use lube either. However Dorian Ford could of put me in if my impatient self could have waited 2 more days.... 2014 ford focus lease 12,000 mile per year fully loaded with my trade in 0 down with my under 500 credit score ready................................................ $249.00 a month.
