I bought an Acadia from this dealership December 2022. Curtis was the salesperson who was nice and seemed to have my best interest. He said if anything were wrong with the vehicle before 30 days, bring the vehicle back, and they wouldn't charge me for whatever the issue was. About two weeks after buying the vehicle, when I turned the wheel, there was a bad grinding noise. I took it back to Parks and explained the situation. They took it to their service center, and shortly after someone came out and said the axel needed to be replaced and it would cost me $600. I explained what Curtis said and explained I'd only had the car for two weeks. He said he would speak to the manager. He came back and said they would give me a break and only charge $200. I explained what Curtis said again, and he went to speak with manager again. He came back and said it would take a long time to fix the issue, they couldn't offer a rental, but it wouldn't be a charge for me. I accepted and they fixed it. Six months into owning the vehicle, it started jerking and shaking when on the interstate. I didn't feel good about taking it to Parks again and took it to another local mechanic. They said the vehicle had never gotten a tune up (it was at 90-100,000 miles), but the issue was there was a huge hole in the exhaust pipe and it also needed an update from a GMC dealer since they're the only ones with the tool. The mechanic said he didn't think in the amount of time I had the vehicle that it just appeared, and I needed to limit driving the vehicle (this is my only vehicle). I called Parks and was told I could bring the vehicle in by appointment in a week. I came to the dealership immediately and was irate. They immediately put me in a rental car and took my vehicle to the service center. I was called two days later and told there was a huge hole in the exhaust and the motor mount was broken. I asked how I could have done that kind of damage/wear on the car in six months, and they said at times their service people will miss some things or not inspect the vehicles that come in well. I was told the service person who "inspected" my vehicle no longer worked for the company. I was also told I was to pay $1200 for the repairs. When I picked up the vehicle, I asked the service person who checked me out how I could have done that much wear/damage, and he said no way I could have. I asked why I was having to pay for the repairs, then, and was told the warranty doesn't cover these specific issues. I spoke with Curtis while waiting, and he echoed what the service person told me saying the salesmen trust their service department to inspect the vehicles when they come in, but unfortunately this happens, though, the one who "inspected" my car no longer works for the company. A little over a year owning the vehicle, the issue of shaking and jerking hasn't stopped and have now found from a reputable mechanic that the issue is the torque converter and I am now having to pay $2000 to get the issue finally resolved. I cannot stress enough how draining both monetarily and mentally my experience has been with this specific dealership. I would highly recommend bypassing this business, they may be nice, but they are not trustworthy at all. I won't be contacting Parks as I'm sure that will be their response here, so please save your energy. Unless it's to refund the $1200 in addition to fixing the torque converter as well at not cost, I'm not interested. More
Was unhappy I was handed over to someone other than the person I had been talking to. Sales staff smoking at the front door and the area was not clean. First impressions count. I've never dealt with a more unprofessional, crude, condescending sales manager as Steve McCarthy. Within two minutes of me entering the dealership, with a scheduled appointment, Steve had both called condescending sales manager as Steve McCarthy. Within two minutes of me entering the dealership, with a scheduled appointment, Steve had both called me a liar and requested I take my business elsewhere. Why? Because I questioned (POLITELY) the $14,000 price increase I was faced with between the advertised price on the internet and their admission of an error when I arrived. I understand mistakes. What I don't understand is the arrogant and hostile tone offered by Steve McCarthy. You can be assured, I will never step foot in a Parks owned dealership again. More
