I showed up at Royal just for a test drive and ended up buying a brand new car. When I arrived, it was overcast and drizzling. Gabe was outside ready with a friendly smile and genuine interest in helping buying a brand new car. When I arrived, it was overcast and drizzling. Gabe was outside ready with a friendly smile and genuine interest in helping me, not just making a sale. I explained my new car goals and we took out an Equinox. Then the sky opened up. I'll tell ya, this is the best time for a test drive. I was about to see how the car really handled both in the construction of Broad St and on the open interstate of 64. Gabe made great conversation during the drive instead of allowing that awkward silence that normally accompanies a test drive with the salesperson. He offered helpful info about the vehicle and asked important questions to gauge what I was really looking for. Since I wanted to have my spouse check out the car, I was clear that I wouldn't be buying that afternoon, so Gabe gave me the keys and let me take it home for the night! have you ever had a dealer offer something like that?! It was great because my spouse was able to drive the vehicle home and get a feel for all the bells and whistles, and I was able to take it downtown to test out its drivability in tight spaces. I was hooked. When I got back to the dealership the next day, Gabe was just as cheerful and welcoming. When it came time to getting down to brass tacks, I can be a bit of a pill. I knew exactly what I wanted and what was reasonable to "demand". Never did Gabe or the finance manager, Dino ever once give me that exasperated sigh that I normally get when I'm being insistent. They were patient and addresses my needs with an eye to problem solving. In the end, we all left happy. I'll be sending all my friends over to Gabe and the folks at Royal. More

I had a great experience at Royal Chevrolet while buying a 2013 Camaro Convertible. Michael Yates first contacted me, and invited me to come down, but was unable to interest me on the type of cars that was a 2013 Camaro Convertible. It was a couple weeks before I came down and only did so after a deal fell thru at Heritage Chevrolet over the trade in value of $16,000 for my 2012 Camaro Coupe. I was in touch with Country Chevrolet, and another local dealer in Richmond, and on the way to see them when Gabe Cooper called. He had emailed me that morning so I did not hesitate asking him what he could do for me. Gabe flat out said he would get me the car I wanted, so we changed direction and arrived 45min later. After a warm greeting from Gabe, a price range was discussed. Gabe went to work finding me a car, he also offered to appraise my car. Gabe found a car that was in line with my budget and provided me and my wife a test drive in a comparable car. I was not able to test drive a convertible, but I was comfortable concluding a deal that day. The trade-in value of $18,000 was reasonable, but not as much as I was going to get by selling to a friend. At that time I really wanted to just say okay lets do it but $1,000 for waiting a week till my friend was able to buy my 2012 was on my mind and I told Gabe we would have to wait. Gabe said he understood, but asked me to speak with Bob the sales manager first before I left. Bob was very nice, so I said to him that I really wanted to make the deal that day, but just couldn't. We all laughed when he asked if we could meet in the middle with the price of my trade-in, so we returned to Gabe's office After doing all the paperwork with Dino we left and was very happy on the purchase. Gabe had said the car would arrive within 2 days from a nearby dealer, and would he call my wife to pick up since I would be out of town. Now is when Gabe really came thru because the car I bought was not available on Monday, as it turned out it was a special order and was promised to another customer at the nearby dealer. Gabe notified me, and went to work finding me a comparable car. Two hours later he had one in Delaware that was slightly more expensive due to a dual mode exhaust option, He said that Bob would still give me the same price if I would buy it. Although all the paperwork would have to be redone he would get the car on the lot before I signed them. We were able to pick up the car two days later. Gabe, Luke, Dino, Bob, and Mike all made it a smooth transaction. Gabe has made several much welcome calls inquiring about our new car experience and I always told him we love it,and get lots of complements. Thanks again, Robert, and Mary Bagwell More

I found the vehicle on-line in the dealer's website inventory, and found the site to be very user friendly and satisfactory. All of the individuals I dealt with at the dealership treated me with professionalism, respect, and presented a positive attitude, which I had not received from some other competing dealers. I would recommend this dealership to others at any time! More
