Had some scratches and scrapes that needed to be touched up, etc. and Jim Moody and his Body Shop team did an excellent job making it look like new again. During the same visit they got the car over to the detailers for some stain cleanup on the seats. They got it all done in one day as promised. JIm also went out of his way insuring the courtesy van driver got to us in time to get back to the shop for payment and pickup. Absolutely pleased with the entire experience. More
Great Service Advisor Deserve 5, Horrible Technicans I traded my very loved 2012 Ford Fusion Sport purchased at Palmetto Ford new yesterday due to feeling unsafe in my vehicle. I went to the dealership I traded my very loved 2012 Ford Fusion Sport purchased at Palmetto Ford new yesterday due to feeling unsafe in my vehicle. I went to the dealership Dec. 2017 with the issue where when driving all electronics shut down. After having for a couple of days I was told nothing wrong except my battery which was less than 1 year old and being tested on three separate occasions during my travels over the holidays when issue started. They all stated no issue with my battery. I trusted the service department and purchased the battery only to bring it back for the same issue a few days later. I also had to pay for the analysis of $165, rental car and no mention missed time at work as dealership is not close to my home or work. I started experiencing it again after the snow, didn't happen earlier because I didn't drive it much over the snow days. I called John Mount, my service advisor, on Monday explaining the same issue was back and just that morning had done it seven times. He told me to get it there as soon as I could and he would get me into rental and drive if needed to figure it out. He let me vent about the ordeal and was very empathic and submitted check request for $165 for the analysis which I am still pending. This time they kept car for a couple of days and I was told it was the throttle and fixed. Great, I picked it up on Wednesday and on my way to work after picking up the "Fixed" car it completely shut down on a bridge with cars rights behind me and no where to go. Thankfully a wreck was avoided but needless to say I was nervous and terrified what might of happened. I immediately called John and told him I did not feel safe driving it. He helped me coordinate the tow truck to get it back to dealership, a rental nearby and this time actually drove it to experience the issue with my permission. He stayed in contact with the entire time and he knew I would not get back into my Ford until I was assured the problem was fixed. They hooked up to computer for a while and verdict was bad relay switch. He drove/tested it afterwards to ensure my safety. I picked it up on Saturday and it appears fixed. However on Monday trying to get out of my car the handle on the driver's side wasn't working. Seriously my car only has 94K miles on it. This is not the first service at Palmetto Ford I had to replace the AC fan twice, fix heated seat, then there was the electrical issue (bad relay switch) ordeal. Thank God I purchased the extended warranty. I called John back again. He got me an appointment first thing Saturday morning at 8am since I could miss anymore work due to this car and promised I would be there a max of two hours so I decided I would wait for it. It was his day off but he left me in the capable hands of Andy. When I arrived at 7:50am Andy, he said we will do our best to get it done today. I almost lost it as I had decided I was trading and arranged to get my new non-Ford car that afternoon. I explained everything to Andy and communicated with John Mount who wasn't there. These guys went above and beyond. I had my car back with new handle in less than an hour. So I am unsure of how I can give these service advisors a 5 and the service technicians/dealership a 1. I wish John worked for another dealership as I would use him again and again. He understands the customer and truly cares. More
Jim Moody and the body shop team ROCK Jim and the body shop team are AMAZING. My husband crashed the boat into the back of my explorer (don't ask) and we were supposed to take that car the Jim and the body shop team are AMAZING. My husband crashed the boat into the back of my explorer (don't ask) and we were supposed to take that car the following week on a family vacation to disney. Jim SAVED our trip! They got the parts in quickly, dealt with insurance, kept us informed, did an amazing job AND washed the car when all was said and done. Excellent experience with repairs from Jim Thorne My 2003 Ford Ranger was hit by a semi-truck while parked downtown. Through all the repairs (and believe me there were LOTS.. a semi truck!), the back and forth with the insurance agent & me, plus the over two-month period of resolution with the insurance company, Jim Thorne was extremely patient and communicative through the entire process. He REALLY helped me out every step of the way. Once the insurance company did their part and I was able to retrieve my vehicle, the staff was very helpful and kind (other than the young lady working at the service window, she was very unfriendly). I can't recall the name of the gentleman I spoke with there when I got my truck, but he was extremely patient with me in answering any questions I had (I believe he was the Service manager). Most importantly my truck looks great! More

I have worked with many service personnel there, Greg E. is one that's always done a fine job, really service minded. Jim Moody and his counterpart Jim in the body shop really set the standard when it comes to service. I have Jim Moody on my speed dial. If I have ANY issue I can call Jim or call Greg and I am in the next day or within two, they have always kept me up to date with what's happening with my car, when I can expect it and what's going on or what's wrong. I will buy another Ford I'm sure, I'm also pretty sure it's going to be from Palmetto, largely it's the service that keeps me coming back -these guys are experts and I'm also now proud to say friends. That's uncommon in the service field these days. More
Awesome customer service!! I took my Escape in first thing in the morning to have a minor repair done same day. Came back at the end of the day to pick it up. It wasn't ready, but John Mount was very apologetic. Offered for me to leave it overnight or bring it back the next day, Then, he left to bring it around to me (I chose to bring it back the next day). He asked for me to give him a minute, and very quickly, returned the car to me from the service bay with the minor repair completed by him! Totally unexpected! I was very surprised and pleased with his commitment to excellent customer service. Highly recommend Palmetto Ford and John to anyone seeking a favorable service experience. More

A bright helpful face at Palmetto Ford! Recently I purchased a new I-phone and the change resulted in all my favorite pre set contacts being deleted from my Blue Tooth system. At age 68 I am somewhat challenged by some of these easily accomplished tasks a 12 year old can do instantly so I brought my Lincoln MKX to your dealership for help. Your showroom directed me to Kelvin Ruffin. He was not only very helpful and instructed me how to reclaim my numbers but his interaction with me changed what had previously been a very negative experience for my family with Palmetto Ford. We are winter residents in Charleston and about six years ago my previous MKX was severely damaged in the middle of the night by a drunk driver while parked outside my son's home. The vehicle was towed to your dealership for a claims adjuster to evaluate and for repair. The insurance company promptly signed off on all work and my husband had to rent al all wheel drive vehicle to return to our other home in Blowing Rock, NC as we were preparing to leave on a cruise. Three weeks later Palmetto had made no effort to begin repairs on our vehicle. We contacted the owner of Boone Food, Alfred Glover, where we had purchased several Lincolns and asked if he knew anything about Palmetto. He did not but promised to look into it and see if he could help us. His research suggested that Palmetto had one of the worst service reputations for the Ford brand on the East Coast. We asked him if he would do the work and we had our car towed the 300 miles back to his dealership where we had always enjoyed excellent service. FYI- we have shared this story with dozens of friends over the years .. not good for Palmetto. Since then we have purchased three more Lincolns from Boone Ford. One ( a 2016 MKX was for our son, Morgan Herterich, who lives here full time in Charleston and I believe has had some experience with Palmetto.) Kelvin was the first person I have interacted with since our very negative experience with your service department six years ago and based upon the excellent one we shared I would be amenable to possibly purchasing a future Lincoln from him in the future. Perhaps, he should have been overseeing your Service Department. My companies are service oriented and I understand the value to the public of positive experiences. Selling vehicles is one thing, servicing them and enjoying a positive income stream is quite another! Bravo to Kelvin for being such a valuable representative of your company. Suggest you take good care of him - or one of your competitors will... PS: I was not permitted to submit this review without completing the first two questions on this survey. The first was number of stars for service and the second was whether I would recommend your service department to a friend.
