Brake failure twice! Took my car in to replace the alternator and fix a brake issue. I get the car back only to discover that it now has now brakes and almost drove me int Took my car in to replace the alternator and fix a brake issue. I get the car back only to discover that it now has now brakes and almost drove me into oncoming traffic with no ability to safely stop. I immediately circled back to the dealership where I was assured the tech had driven the car and it was good to go. They looked and discovered that suddenly the master cylinder had mysteriously failed. Palmers volunteered to replace the master cylinder at their cost before I even said a word about who is going to pay for it. While that was a nice gesture, they still put me in a car that could have killed someone, a car that they claimed to have driven and didn't notice the brakes were gone (a tech drove around the building to bring the car out and didn't notice the pedal went to the floor). So after a few weeks of waiting on parts, the car is finally ready and I go pick it up. I get a couple miles down the road and I can feel the brakes getting soft and bleeding out. The pedal gets softer and has to be pumped to stiffen up. I pull into a parking lot and see a small puff of smoke from under the hood. Turns out they had left some rags under the master cylinder that had shifted and touched the heat wrap on my exhaust manifold. So now we go back to the dealership to find that the brake lines are leaking as well. This is the second time that I was assured a senior tech drove my car and performed the work. They also stripped one of the brake line fittings in the process that they replaced, again at their cost. Overall they handled the issues well but it doesn't discount the fact that I was provided a vehicle that was unsafe twice. Serious negligence issues there. More
