Why choose Palmen Motors? This is what I experienced before, during and after I purchased my first new car. I learned that Palmen's Chrysler dealer had the car I wanted and wanted to get to know. Pleasantly greeted by Mr. Wayne Korf, he thanked me for coming to Palmen's, offered me a beverage then asked what he could do for me (THAT I LIKED... instead of being jumped on - talked to death - and leaving me soon after I told the salesperson, "I'm only looking right now".) I told Wayne the car I was thinking about purchasing, he gave me a brochure on the model. We sat down, chatted about my interests then discussed my car of interest. I left the dealership with a smile on my face, thinking-Hey, I wasn't treated like I was taking up his time! He treated me with respect! We shared our thoughts about various things of interest... no pressure to purchase or that "If you don't buy today it might not be here tomorrow." tactic. I decided on Palmen Motors and Wayne... all because of trust and respect. Purchasing my car... you know, the pricing, trade-in offering and such, is one of the most confusing, irritating and nerve crushing experiences of adulthood. No, I'm not going to say this was the easiest and most fun I ever had at a car dealer! Instead, Wayne made sure I was following every step on sales document, every dollar and every reason why what, was what. I asked many, many questions (enough to even drive ME crazy!!) and even if it was a confusing money question, that Wayne could respond to, he'd have a finance person come over to me (um, NOT me going over to that person), sit next to me casually and in a respectful and friendly tone... answered my questions. I was quite nervous during this procedure, but I signed the Sales Contract... knowing I DID NOT make a mistake, purchasing the car I chose and in choosing Palmen Motors. After that paper work session, Mr. Andy Palmen came over to me to see if I was happy with my purchasing experience. I could only reply with, "I was treated professionally, patiently and with respect!" Andy smiled, shook my hand and the deal... was sealed. I've known Andy Palmen for many years since then. But the part I like about him the most, is that he's been a very good friend... to the community of Kenosha. As a result of this first experience, I remain a member of the Palmen Motors family of satisfied customers. More
This is the second time we have been to Palmen Dodge/Chrysler in Kenosha. This time we leased a new Dart. Wasn't sure leasing was right option based on miles traveled each year, but the crew at Pa Dodge/Chrysler in Kenosha. This time we leased a new Dart. I was looking to trade in my ford focus that I owned for only 15 months. Due to the fact that my daughter has ALWAYS had great experiences with Shawn, I knew he was the one I had to go see. Long story short... Shawn took such good care of me in my car purchase that he is the one I will refer to anyone looking for a car purchase. I am 83 years old and bought my last car July 2001,which I intended to trade in for a newer used car. My wife and I had a few basic features-such as improved gas mileage, visibility,and ease of handling that were important, but we were not very knowledgeable of the vast amount of makes and models available. We visited 4 dealers in Kenosha and Racine and considered 2 other deals, but did not complete after salesman and his manager talked to us with their offer. We just didn't feel comfortable--like the sale wasn't that big a deal and the trade-in value was much lower than expected for our 1 owner, only 57000 miles, 2002 car..WE returned to Palmen Motors where Richard Smith had impressed us with a genuine take-your-time, I'm hereto help you .get something to make you happy feeling on our initial visit -he had found a car we might be interested in--and it was. After we took it for a test drive and went home for lunch, .A huge snow storm began so we returned slowly back to Palmen.It was a difficult weather day and Richard was just finishing with another customer,but we were treated to refreshments and didn't mind the wait. When the final offer was made, it was more than I could manage, but we really liked the car and Richard made several trips to see if we could work it out. We hit a compromise that I could handle and we were very happy. Additionally because of the heavy snowfall and our difficulty driving under the conditions, he offered us a ride home with a cohort following to take him back. He made the paperwork a breeze and there was NO PRESSURE. The support from the staff to help make the process of buying our new Jeep was evident; they were on top of everything and kept the flow going. This is the first time that I've ever had a pleasant experience buying a car from start to finish. Driving from Chicago to Kenosha for any car may seem odd, but it was well worth the trip. We were treated as friends more so than customers. We started out looking for a used vehicle and ended up purchasin but it was well worth the trip. We were treated as friends more so than customers. We started out looking for a used vehicle and ended up purchasing a new one. Ray went out of his way trying to help, knowing that our initial request was a used vehicle. After he checked all avenues to try and fulfill our request it was determined that we would be better satisfied with new. Now that a new path was chosen, Ray's eagerness was not diminished. Several days after the purchase we remembered that the city sticker was inadvertently left on the trade in. A call to Ray resulted in the sticker being removed and in my possession within 48 hours of the request. I think you would agree that price is very important, but being treated with respect is just as important. From start to finish the experience was pleasant and everyone involved with the process left us with the feeling they cared. More
