My car broke down with (apparently) no fuel getting to the engine. Tried to start it many times. It would turn over, but never start. It was too far to have it towed to my regular mechanic (I've long s the engine. Tried to start it many times. It would turn over, but never start. It was too far to have it towed to my regular mechanic (I've long since abandoned BMW dealers for after-warranty service as "money-hungry, parts-installing, couldn't-actually-repair-something-if-their-life-dependend-on-it prosperity pimps"). So, they took my car right away (that's why they didn't get a worse score than they did). Max was courteous and pleasant. They never diagnosed the root cause, but they determined that one of two ground wires in the main wiring harness had totally burned through and melted the harness (they freely admitted that they really didn't have a clue why there were two ground wires running through the main wiring harness). After several hours of work, they took apart the front turn indicator light assembly, looked under, around and through the car. They determined the fuel pump and the secondary air filter relay were dead, so they needed replacing (no parts on hand). So far so good. The following day, when the parts had arrived, I took possession of the car (for about $1,200). They never got to the root of the electrical problem so they installed a fuse in the main wiring harness hoping that if the same surge occurred again it would blow the fuse and not the computer or other electrical component. I asked what happens if the same damage occurs again? They said, "you'll be buying another fuel pump probably." Comforting. Here's where I get really pissed off. The following day, my car dies. No power, no dashboard lights, nothing. I look at the jury-rigged fuse and it's blown. I call P&W to ask for a little road-side guidance as they are the ones that "repaired" it. What advice did I get, you ask? "Tow it in (about 45 miles) and we'll have a look." This is code for: "we can't very well charge you for parts and labor you don't need, if we aren't holding your car hostage." So, I replace the fuse and try to start it. Nothing. A buddy comes and picks me up and takes me home. I leave my M3 in a Toys-R-Us parking lot for 2 days, and then call a tow truck to have it towed to my mechanic. Before the tow truck put my baby on the flatbed, I tell the driver I'm going to look at the battery in the trunk. THE FREAKIN' DEALERSHIP DIDN'T TIGHTEN THE CLAMP ON THE NEGATIVE BATTERY POST ! The resulting arc blew the fuse, and jiggled the clamp loose enough that there was no contact after that. So, with the truck driver standing there (no doubt thinking... you took this to P&W?... you must be high !), I tightened the clamp and thanked the truck driver for his time (he didn't charge me a penny, let alone $1,200). As if that weren't enough, a week later I discovered that the front turn indicator light assembly was not reinstalled properly (or they broke one of those flimsy plastic clips) and now it wiggles. Finally, I called the dealership to leave a voice message explaining my frustration (much more nicely than I'm doing here), and I didn't not so much as receive a call back to apologize, let alone try to make it right. Okay... so the moral of the story. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, REPAIR YOUR OUT-OF-WARRANTY BMW AT A BMW DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT, AND ARE ONLY TRYING TO FIND WAYS TO RUN UP THE BILL (and yes, this the worst example, but it is one of a long list of similar experiences I've had with BMW service departments). They have no concept of providing value for money. They are concerned about the money received, but not the value provided. Only when we take our business to competent, trained technicians who don't charge $110 per hour for their time, will the market forces prevail and BMW will get their xxxx together. More

It is unfortunate when service centers take full advantage of customers who know less about automobiles, but now I know better than to return to P&W Foreign Cars. Last August I gave my car for its advantage of customers who know less about automobiles, but now I know better than to return to P&W Foreign Cars. Last August I gave my car for its 30,000 mile service and asked for all services necessary at this mileage, including an oil change, brake fluid, etc. , and checks on various parameters of my car. A set rate was given for this service, amounting to around $400 including both parts and labor. I received my car and it seemed to be running okay. A few months later, around late november, my car wasn't running as well and my father checked the oil. He said that it was totally black. We had the car serviced at our normal service center in West Chester, PA, and learned that none of the services we had paid for back at P&W Subaru had been done. In fact, my car by this point was damaged and the brakes had to be replaced. I feel completely, utterly cheated by P&W Foreign Cars and do not plan to return to the facility for any more services. The only reason I have given higher ratings for friendliness and customer service is that the service center was very kind and polite about cheating me entirely. While I realize that I should be knowledgeable about my car, it is irresponsible for a service center to completely cheat a client and harm their car in the process. More
I had a written quote from the salesman on a pre-owned BMW, and he was to deliver the car to my mechanic on Monday to approve the car before the sale. On Monday, he gave me a story about P&W's mechanics h BMW, and he was to deliver the car to my mechanic on Monday to approve the car before the sale. On Monday, he gave me a story about P&W's mechanics had to check the car out before it could be taken to my mechanic, but that that would happen on Tuesday. On Tuesday he told me the car was sold to someone else Monday night. I believe that the dealership simply decided not to honor its deal with me, and/or found a buyer willing to pay more for the car, and they sold it out from under me. Either way, I find them to be very dishonorable, and went elsewhere to buy my car. I would not do business again with P&W BMW in Pittsburgh. More
