Bought a 2021 Blazer RS at Outten Chevrolet in November of 2022. After 6 months I started noticing a smell of antifreeze occassionally after turning the car off and getting out. Brought the issue up at my of 2022. After 6 months I started noticing a smell of antifreeze occassionally after turning the car off and getting out. Brought the issue up at my next service visit (around 25k miles). I was told that they didn't find anything and sent me on my way. The smell persisted, but I never noticed any antifreeze where I parked but continued to bring up the issue at service visits. Nothing was found to be the cause. October of this year I brought my Blazer in for an inspection and oil change (42k miles) and was told my radiator was leaking. Cost to replace, $1500 because it was conveniently out of the warrenty period. I explained that the smell of antifreeze was present for the last year and was brought up at each visit so obviously the problem with the radiator was present under warrenty. They did not budge on their stance of $1500, they even tried to sell me $2000 worth of tires. A quick search of the official chevy parts site shows the radiator cost is $308. That puts the cost to install at $1100. Customer care was also useless in trying to get this resolved. Will never purchase another GM vehicle from Outten and will look outside of the GM family for my next vehicle. More
Dealership that thinks everyone is dumb enough to believe them about anything that has to do with car repair when all they do is try and take money from people that don't know better. I have been black balle them about anything that has to do with car repair when all they do is try and take money from people that don't know better. I have been black balled by the dealership and told that they would not ever keep their end of the sale of free inspection for life of the car. All because they have soft people working there that can't take that someone would go back at them about trying to rip them.off. example I went for inspection on my wifes car and was failed for a tail light. They came in and said it would be 30 35 dollars to fix the light which in reality is a 5 dollar bulb. I told them they were crazy out of their mind and went and had it done at Mavis down the road for 10 dollars total. Just the audacity of these people to think that everyone is dumb enough to believe what they say is right and that you are wrong no matter what. So outten waited till I made a oil change for my wifes car to call me and say they would not except either my car or my wifes car there for anything. So all and all outten is not a good place. If I could give them negative stars I would’ve. I would also say they are like CIRCUS but that would be an insult to the circus industry. Fine until warranty runs out I don't like to give businesses a negative review unless they deserve it because of the way they do business. Last Wednesday I took my car in to Outte I don't like to give businesses a negative review unless they deserve it because of the way they do business. Last Wednesday I took my car in to Outten Chevrolet of Hamburg for an inspection. My car was driving fine and I did not expect anything to be wrong. However, it is at the end of the 5-year warranty. After sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, the service advisor came out with a long laundry list of things suggested to be done and failed the inspection because they said the rotors were rusty and needed to be replaced. Total was about $1,000. I sat another half hour while they wrote everything up! I'm not stupid so I took it to a local family-owned garage and scheduled an appointment for today. My bill today was $26 for reinspection--far cry from Outten's projected expenses. Outten's never steered me wrong before, but this time the things they wanted me to get done were not necessary at this time, including the rotors. I've heard negatives about Outten's before but this time they picked on the wrong person to try to get extra money from. I will NOT be taking my car back to Outten's again! Be careful when your car's warranty is running out--especially single women who they think they can hoodwink into paying for unnecessary repairs. More
Not honest from start I was sold a SUV and not been told it was a rental and had lots of problems with it the transmission and motor besides other problems it was never end I was sold a SUV and not been told it was a rental and had lots of problems with it the transmission and motor besides other problems it was never ending I bought the extended Warrenty but 3very time I took it to Outten they told me there was nothing wrong after 3 times for the transmission Outten telling me it was fine I took it to another dealership and it took 15 minutes for them to tell me I needed a new transmission one of many times outten told me that my car was fine it seemed it would take 3 appointments on average to fix anything I did research and wonder that it was a rental if it was in a flood because it was one problem after another and my seat brackets were rusted and they said that was normal I never had rusty brackets in any car I owned before .Another @nswer they gave me was I’m not used to a SUV because I also have a Audi A6 It wasn’t my first SUV I know when my vehicle isn’t right I’m not sure if they thought I was stupid about cars because ima women they took down my review on there website and called me a few hours after I posted it like it wasn’t honest and I said it’s very honest and to look at all the service records I would never buy a car there again very bad long stressful experience!!!!! More
