These people are charlatans. They try to collect twice for the same labor and held my car hostage so I couldn't take it to another dealership for the recall repair. My car was t They try to collect twice for the same labor and held my car hostage so I couldn't take it to another dealership for the recall repair. My car was taken to this dealership by Cars to Go in Rockville a valet service center. As they are in Rockville I asked how my car ended up in Bethesda for work on the traction sensor rather than at DAR CARS VOLVO which was only a couple miles away, and my dealer of chose, that is when I found out that Car Care To Go is owned by Ourisman. RED flag number 1,Red flag number 2, I told the service department not to do the work, I would take my car to DAR, they said couldn't let my car go, because it is a safety violation. Red Flag number 3 I acquiesced but found they wanted to charge twice for the airbag recall labor, and again for the labor to replace the clock spring, the cause of the traction control light coming on. This part is just next to the airbag which was being replaced. I called 2 other dealerships service departments as was told that the spring would be replaced when air bag done with no additional labor, only part. I also requested cost for part from 2 other Volvo dealerships in the area, and both were in the $350 range imagine my surprise when Walt Clements in service told me my bill was in excess of $600 dollars, the price quoted by other dealerships for parts and 2 hours of labor. This is the height of thievery. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GROUP. THEY ARE THEIFS AND LIARS. If you have or want a Volvo or Volkswagen go elsewhere. That also applies to any other vehicle sold or serviced by OURISMAN. Finally DON'T fall for the platitudes offered by their review bot, it means nothing. More
This was without a doubt the worst, most ridiculous service center. My husband and I were having issues with our Volvo XC40 battery and other electrical issues. The Volvo service center in Bethesda wer service center. My husband and I were having issues with our Volvo XC40 battery and other electrical issues. The Volvo service center in Bethesda were unbelievably unclear about what was happening, they were shady about pricing, they kept our car for over 10 days, and it has still not been fixed. When my husband went to pick it up and disputed the bill, they called the police (not a joke). They called the police ON THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS. Then all of the service works brought other Volvos around our car and blocked my husband in with the cars. They were standing around the cars pointing and laughing at him (he has a video). This is 100% true. Brenda Green who we mainly communicated with at the Service Center had no straight answers for us, mumbled everything, was unclear about pricing. Brian Kostovic called the police after a rage-filled exchange with my husband who would not hand over the keys to the car while wanting to talk about the bill. This entire experience was terrible in every way. Do not use this service center for your Volvo. I wish we could give a lower rating. More

I don’t normally write reviews but this is different. I had a horrific experience at Volvo Bethesda in November 2022 during a tire replacement. I gave up because it wasn’t worth the time to call and leave messages and wait for callbacks because they weren’t happening (and it was implied I was lying and trying to scam them over). I only share my experience on here in the hopes of preventing others to go through the same thing that I went through. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. On Friday, November 11th, I got a flat tire on my way to work. Roadside Assistance put a spare on and I went searching for a place who had the tire in stock. I called Volvo Bethesda Friday afternoon and they had the tire so I made an appointment for Sunday afternoon to come in and have the tire put on. When I arrived on Sunday at 12:40pm, I was immediately told by the front desk person ( I believe the gentleman’s name was Prem) that they were short staffed, and may not be able to accommodate my appointment. I told him that I had spoken to someone on Friday and had confirmed that the tire was in stock and that it should be a pretty quick fix. He told me he would look into it and let me know. I told him I was fine with waiting so I sat in the waiting room and watched tv/worked. Around 2:30pm Prem found me and told me that they would be able to get the new tire on but I might take an hour. “Great“ I said and thanked him. Around 3:45pm, he told me the tire would be on in about 20 minutes and a little after 4pm he told me that the job was done and gave me the paperwork. I gave him my credit card, and I signed the receipt. It was going to cost about $400. (I was aware of the cost ahead of time and was fine with it). Before he walked away I asked him if they offered warranties on tires (I had just had a flat on a different tire 2 months earlier). I had never thought this was something companies offered, but he said they did. He told me if I bought a tire from them that it was covered for two years under a some type of “hazard” warranty. Surprised, I told him that on August 29th I had two tires replaced here, one of them being the flat I incurred on November 11th. He told me he would do a quick confirmation and refund my money. About 10 minutes later, he came back and told me that the tire they replaced was not the same tire that I had put on the end of August. I told him that was impossible. He said the tire “numbers didn’t match”. Since it was about 4:30pm I asked that he have his manager call me Monday morning and we would figure it out then. Monday morning came and went and I never received a call. No call Tuesday or Wednesday, either, so on Thursday, November 17th I called back and spoke to a “Danny”. Danny was a manager and had heard about my situation. He told me it would be an easy fix. I would receive an email the next day with a form that I would need to sign. I’d also get a phone call. He would just need to run it by his boss, and they would submit the refund to the manufacturer and all would be good. I think Danny and told him that he was very good at his job. Friday came and went and I never received an email or call. The following week was Thanksgiving so I gave them time and chalked it up to the holidays. I called back again a week or two later and this time spoke to a different manager. I was told Danny was off. I told my story to this new manager, who seem to vaguely recall my situation. This time I was met with skepticism and told (again) the tire numbers didn’t match. (The implication here being that I had that tire replaced between August 29th and November 11th and was trying to scam over Volvo Bethesda.). I asked this manager (Fred?) to have his boss call me by close of business Friday. Guess what? I never received a call. To this day, I still haven’t received a phone call and the issue remains unresolved. I’ve owned my Volvo for 2 1/2 years (love the car) and plan to keep it for a very long time. What could have been an easy fix to keep a customer and their business will now never happen. I can’t imagine the future money they will lose over 1 tire. Seems like a poor business model. More

When I picked up my car it was a total shock to me with how they returned my car to me. I brought my car back in and they called me back on the 26th saying it was ready, but they did not accomplish anything. I talked to the manager, he told me to leave the car which I did, and the car sat in the shop until August 3rd. They called me to say the car was ready. The car once again had not been touched. On Tuesday, August 10th I did pick up my car still left damaged. I also called to ask for the ECM to be upgraded as I received a recall notice about it and was told that was taken care of, but I will talk more about this in the last part. August 19th, I got a phone call from Leo and Brian, and I was told by Leo and Brian that they would take care of it. Brian told me to bring it back on Saturday, September 25th. After picking up my car on the 25th of September, there remains a scratch on one of the trims and the work they have done is all falling apart again. For one of the trim pieces, they used super glue to hold it together. They said in a text that the scratch was buffed out the trim was replaced which is not true as it has been stated by other dealership technicians. When I took my car on the 25th I was first threatened by Kevin at the front door saying I am not welcome and that I cannot step foot here and that they will do nothing for me or for my car and that I should leave while pointing his finger in my face. Then on the 27th, he sent me a text asking for a survey 1-5 for the service experience I said 1 he sent a laughing emoji. His threatening behavior, bullying, harassment, and intimidation have all been documented and the police were notified later that night. I was unhappy with this service and asked my mom to go talk to Paul the general manager and co-owner of the dealership he said that there is no issues and then Brian got involved only for him to say the car will not be returned to day one and that this is the end of that and that I should contact Volkswagen and get a buyback since they are unable to return the car to the factory condition it was. However not being satisfied with the conclusion of Paul and Brian I asked my mom to go to another dealership on October 20th to inspect the vehicle and get advice. The service advisor said that the car was damaged along with every other Volkswagen dealership I have been to. They also ran the VIN and saw an open recall for the ECM but mind you that Ourisman had told me it was completed on August 10th. They took two hours to update the ECM properly. I decided to contact Volkswagen corporate for assistance. Volkswagen and I ultimately reached a settlement however with that being said if I want to put it towards a new car that I cannot afford it does not do much for me in that regard and it is not like I can get my car fixed at any other dealership as it is not covered by my warranty since Ourisman was the one who caused damages to the vehicle and no other dealership wants to touch it. As of 2022 Ourisman Volkswagen of Bethesda has given up on any attempts to repair my car or even acknowledge that my car is damaged. We have talked to Paul the co-owner and got no resolution. Leo left me on read and Brian has never followed up either. Please avoid this dealership at all costs unless you want a damaged vehicle in return with no option to get it fixed. Kevin and other service advisors told me I should have not received my car like that in the first place and they also failed to warn me verbally and in writing that this repair could potentially damage my vehicle which they all have said was their fault for not doing so. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed with Lindsay Service (Sterling, VA) as well as Ourisman Service Center(Bethesda, MD). Service Maintenance package is TOTAL SHAM. I bought 2019 Jetta from Ourisman Beth (Sterling, VA) as well as Ourisman Service Center(Bethesda, MD). Service Maintenance package is TOTAL SHAM. I bought 2019 Jetta from Ourisman Bethesda with external paint protection in Jan 2019 and Dec 2019 bought 8 years maintenance plan for a hefty price from the same dealer. I was told, you have paid for 8 maintenance services and external paint protection. I got my first years maintenance done at Stohlsman near my work place on Feb 14th, 2020 @12k mileage with VA Safety inspection. Experience was super smooth and helpful. I asked them about getting the car polished, they could not see anything on my account wrt Paint protection I bought along with the car. I thought that must have been glitch in the system. After the first service I hardly drove the car and procrastinated 2 year/20k Service little longer, mainly because of pandemic, low mileage (15.8K miles), work schedule and need to align with my wife's availability for pickup and drop off. Finally on 4/22 upon receiving a mail with option to schedule online, my stars aligned and I scheduled the service with Lindsay on 4/30 requesting a. VA Safety Inspection, b. Recall work and c. 20k maintenance Service. After going there to drop the car off, Lindsay service rep gave me a shocker that the 20k service has expired and cannot use it. Its been 14 months since the last service and I have to pay from the pocket, though it was fully paid years in advance. I declined the service and asked him to do inspection and recall work. Just when I was leaving, Service advisor came and told me that, car will be ready on Saturday 5/1. I said, that's fine, just perform inspection also tomorrow so that I get May sticker as opposed to April Sticker. Next day, I called Ourisman Service center, explained service rep in detail what happened to 20k service. He was first apologetic, said you can bring the car here 50 miles away in MD and can perform 20k service but obviously cannot do VA Safety inspection. He kept on saying, you bought it but did not consume it, whatever that means. I requested him to talk to Lindsay or someone in VW, after some more discussion, he put me on hold for 40 minutes with no response. I had other activities lined up, so I thought I will take it up later and instead decided to get the car back from Lindsay. On Saturday, I did not get a call as previously promised, then I started following up late Saturday night. After 2-3 texts, Monday 2pm, got the response that car is ready for pickup. When I picked up the car at 4pm, I noticed: - VA Safety Inspection was done on Friday with April sticker, though I requested to be done next day. - Invoice said, "Drive through Car wash" was performed. I saw car covered with layer of green pollens, no car wash was done. I saw other cars freshly washed but not my car. - Recall work was performed. - 20K service was not performed but under parts section 20k service was marked completed. This was a pathetic service. I feel Maintenance package is total RIP-OFF. Despite paying in advance, VW refuses to perform the service. Dealers are not responsive and seemed least bothered. I am very frustrated with the overall experience and attitude shown towards me, to the extent that I don't want to continue with VW, want my money back for the packages I bought. I would like to return the car as well, provided I get my hard earned money back. Hope someone from VW is listening. - Nadeem P. More
