Dear Tim123, We apologize if you were given inaccurate information regarding this service. According to the desktop estimate tool provided to our advisors, the estimate for a 60,000 mile service as per Hyundai’s recommendations for a 2011-2016 Elantra with an automatic transmission is just under $510.00 plus taxes, shop supplies & disposal fees. A large majority of the service’s cost is associated with changing the synthetic transmission fluid. While anyone can go online and find inferior aftermarket parts for less than original equipment parts made by the manufacturer, it is doubtful the transmission fluid you were sold meets Hyundai’s SP4-M synthetic specifications. The lowest price on the internet for the correct fluid alone would have exceed your $75.00, and that would not include your engine oil, oil filter, Hyundai’s recommended fuel additive, the cabin air filter & the engine air filter. The old adage remains true that “you get what you pay for.” Our services are extremely competitive, even against our aftermarket competition. Our semi-synthetic oil change is less expensive than the national “quick lube” center located directly across the street from us. We offer only factory original parts, factory trained technicians who know your vehicle better than anyone, complimentary loaner vehicles and a nationwide dealer network of warranty support. We provide more value for your dollar than anyone else in the industry and the Ourisman Automotive Group is a trusted family-run business serving the DC area for nearly one hundred years.

Dear Ms S., We apologize if this visit did not meet your expectations. Please allow us to respond to several points in your review. As to the complimentary service wash, one was not performed solely to conserve time and speed you on your way. At that point, you had been in service for just over 3 hours and we did not wish to delay you any further. You stated to your advisor that you were taking your vehicle right back to the other repair facility and he did offer to still perform a car wash for you at any time you are in the area during regular service hours as we do for all of our guests. Please allow us to clarify that the recommendation to replace the rear subframe was a worst case scenario. The eccentric adjusting bolts on the rear suspension that are used to make alignment adjustments are either at the maximum of their compensation limits or are stripped and not shifting the rear subframe as designed. The initial recommendation is to replace these adjusting bolts and if the vehicle will still not come into proper alignment, only then would replacement of the subframe be required. The alignment of your rear wheels is definitely out of specifications and we stand by this assessment and have the printed results of your vehicle upon its arrival and the specifications when it left our shop. We welcome you to have your vehicle re-evaluated by a neutral 3rd party and we are 100% confident they would support our findings. In particular, the driver’s side rear wheel will not adjust into proper alignment. Both our Hyundai Master certified shop foreman and another Master technician attempted to perform the adjustments needed to bring your vehicle into specifications without success. These two have literally performed hundreds, if not thousands of alignments on Hyundai vehicles over the course of their careers and are experts on the brand. Depending on the severity of the collision that your vehicle was involved in, this may be a direct result of the accident. We recommend contacting the insurance carrier that handled your claim and have one of their claims inspectors involved in the re-evaluation of your vehicle and determine if this is related to the accident and if it should be treated as consequential damage. In conclusion, we firmly stand behind the assessment that your vehicle is not properly aligned and cannot be corrected by normal means. We would be happy to remove the cabin air filter that we installed to show it is in brand new condition in your presence. We will also provide you with a copy of the before and after alignment specification printout which includes your vehicle identification number (VIN) and the date & time the alignment readings were taken. Ourisman Automotive is a trusted, family-run, dealership group in the DC area since 1921.
