Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie responded

Dear Mr. Morse, We’re sorry this issue has not been resolved as of yet but we are confused by some of your comments. When you spoke to one of our service advisors last Friday and again this past Monday with a second advisor, both times you were advised that photos of your vehicle had already been forwarded to the District Manager for Hyundai Motor America (HMA) for review. In addition, you were advised that the District Manager has requested that we arrange for your vehicle to be at our facility for his inspection during his next visit. Furthermore, you were told on both occasions we do not have his next scheduled visit date set. His itinerary is only published one week in advance and his visits are 4-6 weeks apart. Our Service Director has your contact information on his desk top and will arrange the inspection appointment when we are notified of his next scheduled visit. Please advise if you wish for us to cancel this arrangement and you may pursue this through your selling dealer instead.

Dear Tim123, We apologize if you were given inaccurate information regarding this service. According to the desktop estimate tool provided to our advisors, the estimate for a 60,000 mile service as per Hyundai’s recommendations for a 2011-2016 Elantra with an automatic transmission is just under $510.00 plus taxes, shop supplies & disposal fees. A large majority of the service’s cost is associated with changing the synthetic transmission fluid. While anyone can go online and find inferior aftermarket parts for less than original equipment parts made by the manufacturer, it is doubtful the transmission fluid you were sold meets Hyundai’s SP4-M synthetic specifications. The lowest price on the internet for the correct fluid alone would have exceed your $75.00, and that would not include your engine oil, oil filter, Hyundai’s recommended fuel additive, the cabin air filter & the engine air filter. The old adage remains true that “you get what you pay for.” Our services are extremely competitive, even against our aftermarket competition. Our semi-synthetic oil change is less expensive than the national “quick lube” center located directly across the street from us. We offer only factory original parts, factory trained technicians who know your vehicle better than anyone, complimentary loaner vehicles and a nationwide dealer network of warranty support.
