I have rated Thomas with all 5's due to his professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to help me choose the right vehicle. I had spoken with Thomas via e-mail prior to coming into the deal professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to help me choose the right vehicle. I had spoken with Thomas via e-mail prior to coming into the dealership where he was able to answer all of my initial questions. Upon greeting me he was extremely friendly and already had the vehicle we had discussed prepared and ready to be viewed/test driven. Thomas was able to answer all of my questions, as well as helped me to get the best deal on the vehicle that was right for me. I would highly recommend any who comes to this dealership to work with Thomas. More
Thomas Taunton was great to work with. He was honest, up front, and straight to the point. I would work with him again and suggest him to others. He took his time with me and I didn't feel like he was pushi front, and straight to the point. I would work with him again and suggest him to others. He took his time with me and I didn't feel like he was pushing me towards something that would not suit my needs. The only downside so far of working with Lustine is how long it took to get my license plates - almost two months. The loan process was also a little confusing. More
I have given Thomas a 5 star rating in all categories because he was honest from the get go. He was professional, courteous, and friendly to do business with. The over-all process of car buying went smoothly with little hassle. I didn't have to struggle to get the price I thought was fair for the vehicle we purchased. Typically, buying a new car has been an unpleasant experience of dealing with shady salesmen with dollar signs in their eyes. Dealing with Thomas changed my perception and I won't deal with any dealership that doesn't meet the standard of professionalism he set forth. More
My experience at the Lustine dealership in Woodbridge was amazing. My husband is in the Navy and is in training out in California, which means I had to handle buying a new car by myself. Since my husband nor amazing. My husband is in the Navy and is in training out in California, which means I had to handle buying a new car by myself. Since my husband normally handles the wheeling and dealing that comes along with buying a new car, I was not excited about taking on this task alone. My salesperson, Thomas was wonderful! I went in to the dealership on Sunday "just to look" and ended up getting a great deal on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thomas never pressured me and was honest which I really appreciated. Ultimately, I decided to buy the Jeep because it was a great deal and had great features. I decided to buy from Lustine because Thomas was so informative and helped me through the usually unpleasant experience of buying a car by making it hassle free! More
WOMEN BEWARE!!!!! And based on the other bad reviews....men too! Extremely unethical business practices appear to be systemic throughout this organization based on my experience! The bait and reviews....men too! Extremely unethical business practices appear to be systemic throughout this organization based on my experience! The bait and switch comments you see in many other complaints have proven to be absolutely true for me and my daughter!!!! Lustine will add costs to the "good deals" that entice you in to their dealership, but once you're in the door--the deals are not exactly the best! They tacked on a $995.00 fee to my daughters deal for what they claim is a standard fee to inspect and bring the vehicle to "sell-able" condition. My daughter purchased a vehicle in May 2013. The initial problem began when my daughter purchased a vehicle from Lustine Dodge in 2013 and Lustine did not disclose damage to the vehicle. It was raining the day she bought the vehicle so the paint issues were not noticed by her. Once the sun came out the next day--the damage was realized. My daughter notified her salesman immediately of the issue. They claim they didn't have prior knowledge of the damage but we obtained two estimates from two different dealerships (one which was recommended and used by another Dodge dealership) and the damage is real!!!!! Lustine claim there was a hairline scratch that was fixed with touch up paint (I have this in voicemail and in an e-mail). The first estimator stated that the vehicle had most likely been in an accident as there is body filler, a complete repaint of the driver’s side from the nose of the truck to 1/2 way down the bed. There is over-spray in the door jams and the rubber has been removed and replaced on the driver’s door. One estimate is over $2500.00 and the other one (from the Dodge recommended body shop) is over $3300.00. There are numerous pending claims with the Attorney General’s Office! My daughter also drove 6 hours to get the best deal based on the market based on an advertisement in Auto Trader that claimed the vehicle was in “excellent condition”! I believe this is called a “Fraudulent add”!!!! As I attempted to peacefully resolve the issue with one of the owners (Jim Giddings), immediately began criticizing my daughter’s character based on the testimony of his staff that Tiffany cursed" like a sailor! He stated he has reviewed the showroom video and was shocked at her outburst. I have experienced harassment to an extent that you cannot believe! I have documentation and am willing to send it to anyone who will listen! They will not make things right!!!! They use stalling tactics, will not return phone calls, lie about previous conversations, and “promises” that they never made despite the record of these conversations at Chrysler Corporate that these conversations took place. Told us to get a local estimate and will not honor it. In fact they gave the estimate I provided to them (in good faith) to their body shop and then told me that if their body shop determined that the repairs were less than the estimate we provided, they would the deal (meaning either returning the vehicle and my daughters trade in car to her or repairing the vehicle at their expense) be off and they would use their deep pockets to not only prosecute the shop who gave me the estimate and my daughter for bringing fraudulent charges up against the dealership and presenting fraudulent estimates. This came from the mouth of one of the owners! I have e-mails and documents of the harassment, lies, threats, intimidation, and stalling techniques in hopes we will just go away! Oh I almost forgot they will try to get your personal information from your insurance agency in order to process loans if you refuse to give them the information they need! I have documentation from our insurance company where they tried this on three separate occasions with the insurance company using three different banks to try and obtain a loan in her name under fraudulent conditions! I have documentation on all those instances too! There have been 9 credit inquires from banks in the last month from Lustine trying to get any bank on earth to process a loan in my daughters' name. My daughter has stated repeatedly that she is willing to provide all her information to Lustine in order for them to obtain the loan legally and ethically once the problem with the vehicle is either resolved or the vehicle is repaired to “excellent condition” as their add stated. I asked them not to release her trade in car for resale until the issue was resolved and they released it! They also offered her more money for the trade than what they paid off as she had made two payments on it (during the dispute) while the car sat on their lot. They owe her 4,500.00 from the equity in her car and are now holding that captive! They released the car from their lot with temporary VA tags without securing a loan and now told me to contact a lawyer as they are no longer willing to work with us! I contacted a second corporate owner Lou Kairy's and he told me to get a lawyer. He said the reason for them not working with us is because my daughter screamed and cursed at the sales and offended them and other customers in the shop at the time including children. I want to know of anyone who wouldn't scream after they had just driven 6 hours, incurred costs to stay in a hotel, taken a day off of work to have only to find out Lustine was not going to honor their "promise" to allow her to return her vehicle! Now they are holding her money hostage and continuing to drag her through the ringer for screaming! I proudly served my country for twenty years and am an honorably retired US Air Force Member! My daughter is now proudly serving in the West Virginia Air National Guard! Lustine (from the sales manager to the owners) has treated their veterans and minority women customers very dishonorably. While Lustine touts their loyalty to military members--we were certainly not treated with dignity, let alone respect or loyalty. I am asking that anyone who has had these issues (and the reviews and attorney general’s office reports show there are many of us out there) come forward and fight for our consumer rights. We should not allow predatory business practices to occur in this great nation of ours! I urge anyone who has had bad experiences with Lustine to post their complaints here! I am fully committed to putting an end to corporations who exercise systemic business practices that include trying to intimidate the little (working) people, veterans, minority women, and proud West Virginians with their deep pockets. I tried unsuccessfully for over a month to try and resolve this issue peacefully with Lustine. They were never willing to provide reasonable terms to resolve. This ordeal has caused and continues to my daughter a great deal of stress and a net loss of approximately $4-5K (this includes the undisclosed damage to the vehicle, the unsuccessful trip back to VA to resolve the issue, hotel costs, and legal fees)! Buying a new vehicle or used should be an exciting thing, not a nightmare! Unfortunately this forum does not allow for a 0 (zero) rating as that's what both my daughter and I would have rated Lustine. Please help! I would hesitate to recommend this dealership, and that requires explanation. There were several people I dealt with who were great, and I would certainly recommend them, if not their place of employment. requires explanation. There were several people I dealt with who were great, and I would certainly recommend them, if not their place of employment. My salesman, Doug Coffman, was wonderful. He was understanding and accommodating, and made me feel like a friend rather than a customer. And there was another named Will Visbeck who wasn't my salesman but went out of his way to be awesome. The customer service otherwise, in my experience, was rather terrible. I couldn't get anyone to return my calls, ever. The only time I could speak to someone was when I was lucky enough to have the person I wanted answer the phone when I called. I called several different people, I emailed, and had gotten nothing what-so-ever in response from anyone. It had been almost three months since I got my Jeep, and I still didn't have plates, registration, or title. Every time I called because my temps were going to run out, I heard "I think we have what we need, we'll go ahead and send it in." And I was like 'really? that's what you said last time.' The DMV was threatening to impound my Jeep if I continued to drive, because it still wasn't registered. And when I finally got someone on the phone, I was told that my stuff had been sent in, TWO full months after I got my Jeep, almost to the day!! They had to have forgotten me or something. Repeatedly. They also told me that $5,000 in services were "free", and when I questioned it, "You're telling me all of that is free?" he said "yeah, free." Then when I got back home I had to spend hours on the phone with Chrysler fixing the $5,000 in add-on's that I had been expressly told were free. And in doing so found out that I had options that had never been offered to me. So once all was said and done, what was supposed to be well under msrp that they'd made well over msrp ended up costing msrp. And I could have gotten that at any dealership. But I had purposely driven 8 hours to buy a specific Jeep, for what was supposed to be a great price, from what I had hoped would be a great dealership. So my experience with Lustine was very mixed. My dealings with the finance department were without a doubt the worst I've experienced. The sales people were all great, which I would say is the best I've experienced. And after I wrote a review about it all here on DealerRater, Mike Engle called me personally to discuss everything. I have never had a GM call me to apologize and try to right a wrong. And I think it's important to say that Mr. Engle never once, in any way, asked me to change or delete my review here. But I have heard nothing since, even after a promised return call. So... So take my words into advisement, and if you go to Lustine, be aware and informed. But I would never recommend them to anyone, and will not consider them next time I'm in the market. More

The overall experience I had at Lustine Dodge was pretty amazing, I walked in there to get a piece for my Jeep and I left with my dream vehicle. The customer service was very pleasant, the employees were be amazing, I walked in there to get a piece for my Jeep and I left with my dream vehicle. The customer service was very pleasant, the employees were bending over backward to help get me out of there in a vehicle that I loved and wanted. Most of excellent customer service came from Ms. Sarah Byrd, whom being very friendly, professional and polite worked with me to make sure that I felt comfortable with before making my decision to purchase and expedited the process to get me out of there in a timely manner. If it had not been for her top notch quality of work and professionalism, I would not have made the decision to trade in my previous vehicle and drive out of there in my new truck. I would recommend this dealership to any of my friends or family and direct them to Ms. Byrd for any assistance. More
