I've been to David Maus before and my expectations were already low. I saw a car I wanted and was actually searching for. I found it on cargurus.com. I inquired about the car and went to go see were already low. I saw a car I wanted and was actually searching for. I found it on cargurus.com. I inquired about the car and went to go see it. Samir was the person who contacted me through internet sales. I drove it, I liked it and I wanted it. I needed someone to cosign with me so I was going to get my dad to do so. He's busy and prefers me to work the numbers out and just sign his name to the title. I had my dad fill out the credit app like they asked me to online. I told Samir I forget to ask for the internet price and that I wanted that incorporated into the deal. He responds with, " I'm not worried about the price at this point, I'm just trying to secure the financing before Sunday and we'll incorporate the E-price." Okay, that doesn't give me an idea on what the price is. Sounds like a game was trying to be played. I told him I'd stop by today, but after nobody wanting to talk to me over the phone (because I am busy and didn't want to drive 30 mins to a dealership to waste my time) it kind of put me off. After taking care of necessary phones calls to my insurance company about my totaled car and if I'm clear to purchase another, I decided to drive and hour past Orlando to Deland to RC Hill Mitsu and listen to what they had to offer first. Hey, if somebody would have called me to talk numbers over the phone, I would have purchased the car if it worked out. If you can purchase a house over the phone and not a car, that's just plain stupid and you're wasting people's time. I ended up purchasing a Mitsubishi from RC Hill with an impeccable deal. I only pay $1 more a month for my new car compared to my wrecked car. Also came with an amazing warranty program that covers the entire car, even the tires, for 6 years! Think twice before you go to David Maus. His dealerships are not the greatest. If you're wanting a VW, go to Aristocrat. They've been in the business longer with VW. More
The following is expressed; In My Opinion. I was interested in purchasing a used 2008 Beetle. Unfortunately for me Harry Mapes from David Maus VW South was my sales person. Most of our contact was v interested in purchasing a used 2008 Beetle. Unfortunately for me Harry Mapes from David Maus VW South was my sales person. Most of our contact was via e-mails; either Harry would not or choose to ignore my questions on more that one occasion. When it was apparent to Harry that I would be unable to come into the dealership for several days; Harry became rude and sarcastically advised me that prior to arriving at the dealership I would need to fill out a credit application at the David Maus website, even tho I had been approved for a loan from another source and Harry was aware of this. This was a requirement of the dealership so that management could verify that they would be able to close a deal with me. Additionally a $500 or about that amount (It seemed that Harry was not exactly sure what amount would be required) would be needed to Hold the car for me. In questioning Harry why this dealership requires both the application and hold money; he was unable to give me a sincere answer and assured me that the money would be refunded if a deal was not closed. It appears the the Daid Maus TV commerical stating WE'll Do Whatever It Takes To Earn Your Business; or worlds to that effect are true and allows the David Maus Group the chance to possibly run a scam on unknowing people. This is of course; In My Opinion. I personally believe this shady customer service executed by the David Maus Group should be shared with everyone.. In ending; the phrase Buyer Beware definitely applies; in my opinion. More

From the signing of the paperwork, to the explanation of warranties, service was exceptional. I was especially thankful for all the time spent to familiarize me with dynamics of the car. I traveled a good distance home from the dealership and felt comfortable with my trip and all the new features. I would definitely recommend this dealership to others. As a matter of fact, my daughter drives an '06 Jetta and is seriously considering a newer model at this dealership. Thanks again to everyone at David Maus! More

Overall experience with David Maus was terrible. Their commercials state that they never lose business over price. However, in negotiating on a vehicle, they would not budge on a price of $160. I even w commercials state that they never lose business over price. However, in negotiating on a vehicle, they would not budge on a price of $160. I even went down to $100 and still nothing. I finally agreed to purchase the vehicle after a call from the General Manager, Jim and told that i would be at the dealership to pick up the vehicle in a few days and Jim agreed to put it on hold and have the vehicle ready. A day before, i got a call from the sales person stating that the vehicle had been sold by someone else. Apparently, Service took the sold sign off (not sure what the truh is) After a series of calls, the sales persons told me they would be working on finding me a similar vehicle and assured me there would be no additional discussions about price. At this point, communication from David Maus was a little diminished and I had to call for updates. After a few rounds, i was told they found another vehicle for me and had 11K miles mores and would give it to me for $200 cheaper. I declined. Then i was told they found another vehicle but after they ran it through the shop and did the certification, it would cost a bit more. I have to say that I felt no level of urgency from the dealers part to make amends despite my continously calling them to see I could get another vehicle. Needless to say, i went to another dealership and purchased a vehicle and paid a bit extra for the quicker service i received. However, i will say that the initial sales people were very friendly. That however was negated by the overall terrible experience at David Maus VW South. More
Where to start, probably the same question the service employees were asking themselves when they saw my wife walk in. They started with an oil change that cost $130 with a $25 tire rotation. They were ki employees were asking themselves when they saw my wife walk in. They started with an oil change that cost $130 with a $25 tire rotation. They were kind enough to offer a "free" $15 inspection that found $2000 in parts that needed to be replaced. They had plenty of time to do this, because it took over two hours to complete an oil change, WITH an appointment. David Maus is not a family of dealerships I will or plan on ever doing business with again. More
