The vehicle wasn’t the one posted on your site. It wasn’t the right model. It didn’t have the options that were listed on Cars for Sale. I didn’t purchase it or test drive it. Since the chip shortage with China, used car sales (other than service) are the only sources of real income. For every car dealership I contact only 10% respond. As a result, all dealerships have asked top than service) are the only sources of real income. For every car dealership I contact only 10% respond. As a result, all dealerships have asked top dollar for used cars. Before I made the long drive, I made counter offers to see if they are willing to negotiate. Never heard from anyone again. One thing that I learned that is invaluable are sites that show the Carfax report. Don't buy ANY car without reading the report first!!!! More
I contacted the dealership on 4/12/2021 and spoke to Brooker Draper who I told them I was interested in a 2007 Honda Element. I told them I lived out of state so would not able to see the car in person. Brooker Draper who I told them I was interested in a 2007 Honda Element. I told them I lived out of state so would not able to see the car in person. I wanted to confirm if rust was underneath the vehicle or not. They sent me a low quality video of underneath but I said that would like to purchase the vehicle. On 4/13/2021 I told her I would use an Escrow service (Escrow.com) and then have the vehicle transported. I was willing to pay the fees associated with this. They asked for a copy of drivers license which I provided. I was told they were going to overnight paperwork to me which in reality never came. I sent them the link for the deal through Escrow.com which they agreed to. On 4/14/201 they agreed to this transaction and on 4/15/2021 I wired the money ($30) from my bank and paid Escrow.com $172. Escrow.com confirmed they received the money after contacting them on 4/19/2021. Escrow.com told me they were waiting for the dealership to verify their account so I contacted them. They told me they didn't want to use Escrow anymore. They said they were afraid I would get the vehicle and find an issue. I explained if that did happen I would be responsible for shipping the vehicle back. They said they would use the Escrow if I agreed to have the vehicle inspected through LemonGuard. I agreed due to paying another $179 to get it inspected. I ordered the inspection on 4/19/2021 which was completed on 4/20/2021. After receiving the report from Lemon Squad I informed the dealership that I would like to complete the purchase. At this point I have spent $411 and the dealership is declining to do Escrow still. Even though they agreed to it from beginning and knew I was spending money to do all these services. They would never tell me why they agreed in the first placed and kept changing the rules. I assume something was wrong with the vehicle that they covered up and was not caught in the inspection that didn't even put the vehicle on a lift. They failed to even offer an apology for their actions. More
