The salesman who On 7/12/2019 I went with my son, David Hamel to purchase a car from Old School Auto. We had looked at a 2001 Subaru Legacy Outback. The salesman who identified himself as John David assisted us in test driving the car. After test driving the car, Mr. David informed us that he would fix various things wrong with the car. This including a new battery as the one in the car was corroded, New tires as the steel belts were showing and they were dry rotted, breaks, rotors, struts, a broken hood latch and some minor body work. We placed a deposit of 200.00. On 7/13/2019 we returned with the balance of 2100 plus 65.00 to inspect the car with a RI inspection since we reside in RI. On 8/2/2019 with no notification my son woke up and the car was in my driveway. My husband went outside to look over the car. The car had no oil, no antifreeze or water in the radiator. The battery was corroded and not changed as promised. The rotors, breaks and struts were also not done. Throughout the 3 weeks from the time of purchase to the time of delivery my son spoke with Mr. David who assured my son they were in the process of making all necessary repairs. My husband and I went to speak to Mr. David on 7/3/19. I confronted Mr. David who said he was told by my father to not do the work and deliver the car as is but to make a promise to fix the car as stated. Throughout the 3 weeks from the time of purchase to the time of delivery my son spoke with Mr. David who assured my son they were in the process of making all necessary repairs. This is an outright lie and did not occur. My father did go to the lot to check on the progress and was told by Mr. David that they were in the process of repairing the car and once completed could deliver the car to my house. Please note that my father was not the purchaser and it was up to Mr. David to communicate his intentions to both my son and I on delivery. On 8/3/19, Mr. David told me that he was not going to do anything further to the car and that I was trying to scam him. I reiterated to him that the car was delivered with no official bill of sale, no vin check, no inspection ( which we paid for) no bodywork, rotted tires, no mechanical repairs that we previously agreed upon and a envelop that stated “will make repairs when needed” with his signature. I explained to Mr. David that we were within the 30 days and did not want this vehicle and wanted out money returned. Mr. David became extremely vulgar with me and told me the car was mine and he was not going to fix or refund my money. I asked for the owner’s information which he refused to provide to me. I have filed a complaint with BBB, AG office of consumer affairs, Business and license regulation commissioner at the MA DMV, I sent my story to channel 12 and channel 10. My next step is I am hanging flyers all over Pawtucket and Attleboro so this xxxx does not get to sell another car to another person. I want everyone to know what a horrible person John David is.something in return...... More
My truck purchase I went there recently to purchase a pickup truck. John B. helped me with the truck I was interested in purchasing. There were a couple of minor things I went there recently to purchase a pickup truck. John B. helped me with the truck I was interested in purchasing. There were a couple of minor things that I requested he repair, and I told him I would purchase the truck. I couldn't be happier with the way I was treated. John fixed things exactly as he said he would, he did it in a timely manner, and did a great job! He was courteous and very helpful. I asked that the truck get an inspection before I picked it up, I am from another nearby state, and the truck was fully inspected. I would recommend this dealer to anybody, and I would highly recommend John B. to assist you in any repairs you may need. David was also very professional and courteous. I would definitely go back to this dealer again. More
Total Disaster - Do not buy from this Curb Stoner I bought a Super Duty Ford truck back in August of 2017 and it was one of the worst mistakes I've made. It is now completely worthless and cannot be d I bought a Super Duty Ford truck back in August of 2017 and it was one of the worst mistakes I've made. It is now completely worthless and cannot be driven. When a "dealership" makes you feel like you are inconveniencing them, you really should leave as quickly as you arrived. These guys buy salvage ready cars and slap some paint and fiberglass over the rot, and call it a day. They also have "a guy" who rubber stamps their inspections. And if it looks like you might cause problems, they will promise you the world and then find a million ways they can't get to your car that day to fix the problem. And for some reason I let them take me to the cleaners. Don't let this happen to you. I'm out $6,950, not including all I spent fixing my truck myself, and nothing to show for it. It is one expensive lawn ornament. I actually put money down on the truck in July, but it took them a month to get it prepped and undercoated (apparently - I later discovered - to cover the frame rot). After all kinds of back and forth, I finally forced them to just get it done, and took delivery of the truck after it passed inspection. I drove off the lot and stopped for gas, and when I put the parking brake on and it snapped. I went back and they said I would need to come back to get it fixed. I live over an hour away. After promising to send their guy up to fix it - it never got fixed - there was always some reason it wasn't going to work out with his schedule. They offered to let me leave it with them and they would "get to it when they had time" which based on their track record would be for who knows how many weeks, but I wasn't going to do that as I needed it. As it turned out, the parking brake was the least of my worries. In the first two months I owned it I had to replace the rear brake caliper, both rotors and pads, the emergency brake cable, and then the brake line failed. It was rotted, so I ended up replacing 18 feet of brake line myself. Thankfully I wasn't driving when I discovered the brake fluid leak. Then around the same time the bed began to drop because the supports were rotted. I had asked them to address some of the rust and rot on the bed, they said they did and it was sound, but it turns out they just put Bondo on it. I had to throw a piece of plywood in it to keep from falling through. Then I discovered all the u-joints and center bearing were shot in the driveshaft, which I had to rebuild on my own. Also in those first couple months I continued to have issues with a severe vibration at speeds over 50 mph ever since driving it off the lot. I brought it back down and they said it probably needed to have the tires balanced. I took it to their preferred tire place, and the guy came out and said the tires were not safe and wouldn't balance them. I went back home and paid over $800 for new tires. I've had to do so many repairs, but the worst was the crack in the frame I discovered right behind the passenger front wheel. The starter failed so I had to replace it. As I was pulling the wheel off and wheel well cover to get at the starter, I discovered a crack that ran almost the full width of the frame rail and the top of the frame beginning to buckle. Scraping off the undercoating, layers of rotted steel fell off into my hand. I could pull chunks of layers of frame off with my fingers. I called my insurance company and they sent an adjustor to take a look at it. He declared it a total loss, but of course the insurance company won't pay because it was due to frame rot and rust. So now the truck is not roadworthy. From the reviews I've read online, it seems they have patched or covered over bad frames before. Man, if that starter hadn't failed so I had to get under there, I might have been driving on the Interstate with my family in the truck and that frame could have snapped right at the engine. It could have caused injury or death. They are lucky that didn't happen - this time. They have a 30 day guarantee, but you may also notice they don't hand you the keys until close to the 30 days are about over, and then if there is a problem, offer to take their sweet time to fix your vehicle, which actually never ends up happening because it is too inconvenient. Run away from this dealership. Hopefully it gets shuttered before someone loses their lives in one of the death traps they sell. More

Not only was the mechanic/owner vulgar, unreliable and rude, the car I was sold failed irreparably after 2 and a half months. This dealer says they sell good cars and you can rely on them, simply read their Google reviews to be shown the truth. I am one of many victims of this scam of a dealership. John bucco and company are dishonest, scummy scoundrels who have done this across multiple states and if you think you see a good deal, it's trash painted gold. More

Drove the vehicle straight to the inspection station and was told the vehicle was unsafe to drive. I drove the car directly back to the dealership and was going to switch the car out for something else because I was just looking for a train car to drive back and forth to the train. The dealer hid from me and magically disappeared when I approached for three weeks. Finally I caught him at the dealership and three other customers were complaining about the same thing. I realized it was a scam then. I later found out that he was ousted from Attleboro for unscrupulous business practices. He moved his business to uxbridge and was shut down there, then moved to Worcester and was then shut down there, and moved somewhere else after that. I lost track and didn’t really care until I was driving down Route 1 and there he was in a new dealership again at “old school” auto sales. This man gives car dealers a bad name. More
