It should be known many people working hard behind sales made this deal happen and left me a very satisfied customer. Your Service Dept shined. Mike Defranze did a great job explaining and then setting up a corrective course. Manny Cardenas completed the work with outstanding service. To date, three total strangers have approached me on the truck. I'm not shy about telling them what a great experience I had at Bob Rohrman's Oakbrook Toyota. More

This dealer was the closest to my home state that had a certified pre-owned 86 with one of my color preferences. I had never purchased out of state before, so naturally, I had plenty of questions. I was able to get a preliminary invoice as an “exception” because I was buying from out of state. On the invoice, I was being taxed 0.5% higher than what they were legally required to collect from me per Illinois Department of Revenue guidelines. When I asked one of the finance managers - didn’t get his name, but an insecure, wannabe tough guy with an attitude problem that probably got picked on in school- why there was a discrepancy, he dismissively said that’s what was shown on his “system” and that it “might be a penalty” for buying out of state. Not what my home state motor vehicle department or Illinois’s Secretary of the State said. There was a $300 dollar “pivotal security” charge as well. It’s essentially a security tag, one which I did not opt for and is installed on every vehicle on the dealer’s lot. It’s not an Illinois requirement, nor for my home state. The insurance the dealer pays on the cars would cover any theft. It’s there purely for them to profit. I understand that they are a business, so I tried to be diplomatic by suggesting that I would shoulder half of the cost. The same finance manager curtly said he couldn’t do that. Fine, at this point, I was ready to drive out to Illinois after work to pick up the car and finalize the deal despite all the BS I was hearing from the finance manager. However, that changed quickly after. The last straw for me was a whopping $216 for tags and title. Again, I confirmed with my motor vehicle department that I would pay around $40 and the Illinois Secretary of State confirmed that I would be paying for my tags and title at my home rate. When asked about the $176 dollar difference, the same finance manager told me that if I was not happy with the price and fees, they would rather not sell the car to me. And that he was not going to pay for my fees, all said with a tone. As if the money was coming from his own pocket. What a clown. I hung up on him while he was mid sentence before I cussed him out. He had a salesman immediately follow up to tell me it’s a 3rd party fee they get charged to process my tags and title out of state. I didn’t ask them to hire a 3rd party to process my tags and title. For all I know, this 3rd party and the dealer could be splitting this fee as profit. This clown trashed a $24,000 deal over $176 and by being greedy, shady, and having an attitude. Not only that, but he cost the salesman his comission as well. Here’s how they were profitting already: -Dealer documentary fee. - Security Tag fee - Certification of the used vehicle. Premium is passed on to consumer. All in all, they do NOT like an intelligent, well informed, and savvy buyer. They are relying on ignorant customers who are swayed by emotions. The fact that the finance manager got testy learning that I had consulted with the Secretary of State and my motor vehicle department is telling. Nothing to fear, nothing to hide. To the locals and out of state buyers: stay away and try another dealer. And no, I was never demanding. I always asked if something was doable using logic. This would’ve been my 3rd vehicle purchase, so I know that these fees and extras are negotiable if the dealer wanted to sell. More

Made an initial offer on a new truck, no counter offer, tried to sell me a demo and let me walk. I bought the same truck at another dealer 2 hours later. The salesman was Don Quilop and he had the personality of a grapefruit. He should stick with his prior career as a computer programmer or get some sales training!! More
