After visiting a few other dealers closer to my home, I made my way over to Clay Chevrolet to look for a vehicle we wanted to purchase. I met with Tim Fleming and a deal was made in a short time for the vehicle we wanted with the proper options, color etc. Tim was very easy going and good to deal with - no pressure and very different from the other salespeople at dealers we had visited. Only drawback was the time it took to finalize the financial / registration details on pick up day. For some reason, it took almost 3 hours to be able to get myself and family out of there. Tim was doing all he could but there were delays that just didn't make sense. Overall, a very good experience and I would recommend the dealership for a low pressure environment and would certainly recommend Tim for a sales rep if you go. More
On Monday, 4/8/13, I stopped into service department to get a lubrication and was told there could be a 2 hour wait. I asked to schedule an appointment for next day and David scheduled Tuesday, 4/9/13 at get a lubrication and was told there could be a 2 hour wait. I asked to schedule an appointment for next day and David scheduled Tuesday, 4/9/13 at 11:15 AM. I arrived a couple of minutes early, was written up and then had to wait for over 1 hour for the car to first be taken and then over 45 additional minutes until finished. I was told that there were several customers ahead of me and was told they had to take walk-in customers as they come in. This defeats the purpose of setting an appointment to accomodate a customer for service at a convenient time for the customer and to eliminate long delays. I have bought 1 Azera and leased another Sonata from Clay and have had them both serviced at Clay and have never had a problem in the past with being serviced when I have had a scheduled appointment or drive in service. With drive in service I was always told there would be a wait and decided if that wait was acceptable or not. If not I would then schedule an appointment. Due to the delay, I had to reschedule a meeting I had because of the almost 2 hour wait to get my car serviced. Because I persisted in asking Joie when my car would be ready, she and David initially reduced my charge by 50% and I then asked why they had not applied a $5 coupon to further reduce my cost. I was told that my 50% reduction was in excess of that coupon. They then agreed to "no charge" for the service. This was the first unpleasant experience I have had at Clay and hope this will not and should not happen again. I have recommended Clay to friends who have checked your dealership and at least one of them leased a car from Clay. Roy Klein More
Unfortunately a group of us stopped by Clay Hyundai to test drive a car last Saturday. I was up front with the salesman in saying that I had taken down my list of new cars to purchase from 7 to 3 and was test drive a car last Saturday. I was up front with the salesman in saying that I had taken down my list of new cars to purchase from 7 to 3 and was trying to test drive those three cars today. When I had told the salesman that I wanted to drive the cars and would make a decision after I was asked to wait because someone else had taken the car on a test drive. We politely waited and saw the group return with the car. Our salesman decided to start working with another group and we were told that another person would be taking us out on the test drive in about 10 minutes. We politely waited for another 30 minutes with no one even batting an eyelash at us. Finally, we had just decided to give up and leave. The total time for this process was 1 hour and 45 minutes. To get nothing accomplished... Very frustrating and it is a good thing that the other Clay Dealerships are much more attentive to their customer's needs. More
A month ago, I had started my search for a new car after my lease was up. I originally had a 2011 Civic, but when I first got that car I was torn up between the Elantra and that.
