Frustrating I brought my car in to replace a semi-broken brake light and get the transmission shifter cable recalled. While I already had my transmission cable re I brought my car in to replace a semi-broken brake light and get the transmission shifter cable recalled. While I already had my transmission cable replaced last summer (by a non-Ford dealer), I figured I'd have a dealer do it just to be safe. The car now shifts weird and makes some very concerning lurches; the brake light used to work faintly but now is entirely broken; lastly, the taillight, which has never had any issues, is entirely out as well.
