Did an Internet inquiry about the condition of a very low mileage mazda explicitly asking if it had been smoked in since my son is highly allergic. My salesperson assured me it had not been and the car was mileage mazda explicitly asking if it had been smoked in since my son is highly allergic. My salesperson assured me it had not been and the car was in great shape. I drove 400 miles to look at the car. As soon as I opened the door the car reeked from smoke. There were numerous scratches inside, and lipstick on the visor and headliner. Based on another review it appears the dealership all smoke since they can't tell if a car has been smoked in. On our test drive we asked the salesman about the smell and his reply was he has a sinus condition and can't smell anything. Luckily we had other appointments elsewhere. I suggest if you are coming from a long distance you have other options as well. More
This is second time I have been to this dealership. Was there in early 2012 to look at a 2003 Mustang my son and I saw on Internet. Unfortunately they had sold it the evening before, but we did not call f there in early 2012 to look at a 2003 Mustang my son and I saw on Internet. Unfortunately they had sold it the evening before, but we did not call first and had others to look at in the area. They were apologetic and did not try to force us to look at something else. I like that. This time for this review I saw a 1994 Corvette they had and talked with Ms. Watson in Internet Sales via their text message feature on AutoTrader.com. Ms. Watson was very helpful and answered my questions as best she could. I asked for additional photos and if I could talk with the prior owner and she said she would see what she could do. Next day I received an email from Ms. Ingersoll with the prior owner contact information. Ms. Watson checked back in with me two days later to see if I had been able to make contact with the prior owner and if she could provide any additional information. At this time I was handed off to Mr. Welsh who would take care of me from that point. He sent me additional photos that I had requested. I did ask Mr. Welsh that if I did come to look at the Corvette that I did not like to participate in the "deal" process that most dealerships go through and that if I like the vehicle I wanted him to give me an "on the road" price that included all taxes, fees, title, etc. and that would prefer to make a yes or no decision without the "deal" negotiations. Just my personal preference. I urge everyone to do their homework before ever setting foot on a dealer lot. I had done this and had my price already in mind before going. After a week of considering my options I decided to go take a look at the vehicle. Mr. Welsh was very cordial upon arrival and we took the vehicle for a test drive. Vehicle was as advertised both in photos and descriptions. Some minor things out of order, but what 19 year old car doesn't. Decided it was a vehicle that I wanted and Mr. Welsh proceeded to get me a price from the sales manager (did not include sales taxes as I had asked, but not a big deal as I knew what they should be). Despite my earlier request, they did get into "deal" mode and we did not come to an agreement and I left. Mr. Welsh followed up with another offer later that evening after I had returned home (I live in Lexington, KY, an hour away) that still did not fit my price, but was close. I thought about it overnight and part of the next day and made a counter offer that they accepted. Made a downpayment over the phone to hold the vehicle until I could get my cash in order. Went back the next weekend to finalize the purchase. I cannot remember the name of the lady that processed the paperwork, but she was very pleasant as well. They had the car indoors and ready to go. Took about an hour to complete the sale and drove it home. I have since found a few more things not working properly, largest is the automatic climate control that has issues, but as I said before, what 19 year old car does not have some things that need attention. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase. I think the price we settled on was fair for both sides. The staff at Northgate was very professional and accommodating. I still do not like the "deal" process that dealers go through. I would just rather the sales manager come out himself instead of the back and forth game. However, I know this is normal operating procedure. I definitely recommend Northgate Ford if you are looking for a vehicle. They are the third dealership in my lifetime that has earned my recommendation which does not come easily with me. I know this was a wordy review but hope it helps someone that is considering Northgate for a vehicle purchase. More
My salesman, Andre Singleton, is the single biggest reason I returned to Northgate Ford. This is the second vehicle I have bought from him. He has earned my trust and that's a hard thing to do. This is the first car buying experience where I have enjoyed everyone I came in contact with! They were both friendly and knowledgeable. The finance person was great and the salesman wasn't pushy. We enjoyed everyone I came in contact with! They were both friendly and knowledgeable. The finance person was great and the salesman wasn't pushy. We spent ample time going over the features of the car and never felt like they were in a hurry to move on to their next sale. It really was a good experience for me. More
Internet buyers beware, and do your homework!! I will simply state the facts in this review, so my emotions and anger do not cloud my comments. I agreed to purchase a used Ford Mustang over the Internet simply state the facts in this review, so my emotions and anger do not cloud my comments. I agreed to purchase a used Ford Mustang over the Internet with Jenn in the internet sales department. I explained that I would have to take their word for the condition of the vehicle because I lived so far away. I was told that the car was in great condition without any issues. To make a long story short, after a 600 mile drive, I discovered that the car did have some serious flaws. First, the paint on the front of the hood was bubbling from corrosion. Although this is a common issue with this vehicle, it should have been disclosed. Second, the car reeked of smoke. Neither of these important facts were disclosed to me prior to my trip. After quickly sending photos of the bubbling paint to a repair shop, I learned that the entire hood would have to be repainted to fix the problem. At this point (and in addition to the horrible smoke smell) I expressed that I was no longer interested in the car. Someone who I assume was the sales manager asked me if there was anything they could do to help the problem. I suggested that they would be upfront with their customers prior to them driving 600 miles. Not once did I receive an apology or a thank you for driving 600 miles and spending well over $400 in gas, hotel to make the trip. Andre, the salesman who was responsible for completing the sale, was very cordial during the sale, but wouldn't even so much as look at me once I nixed the sale. I got in my rental car and made the 600 mile trek back home. These are the facts, so if you have read this review, consider yourself warned. More

I was very happy with Northgate Ford and my salesman, J.C. McCoy. He was professional and kept in touch with me over a two-month period (while I decided whether to buy a car) without being pushy. After going to a few different dealerships in Cincinnati, I decided to give Ford a try. Out of all of the places I went to Jason Robb at Northgate Ford was the only one that truly took the time to see what I I decided to give Ford a try. Out of all of the places I went to Jason Robb at Northgate Ford was the only one that truly took the time to see what I was looking for, the reasons I wanted a new vehicle, the features that mattered to me and still work within my budget. I don't often write reviews unless I receive exceptional service and I really did feel that Jason worked extremely hard to make sure I ended up in a vehicle that I loved. I have never owned a Ford before but I have no complaints at all about my new 2012 Ford Fusion. I also appreciated that they took the time to show me how the Sync system works, now I use that every day without fail. More
