Duarte was extremely transparent and if he didn’t know the answer to a question, he would seek to obtain that information to properly notify me as a customer. the answer to a question, he would seek to obtain that information to properly notify me as a customer. More

I had once driven in a Mazda CX-5 that my friend Alanna owns out in Yosemite National Park while I was living in California as a travel nurse. So when my Toyota Rav 4 was getting up there in miles, just o owns out in Yosemite National Park while I was living in California as a travel nurse. So when my Toyota Rav 4 was getting up there in miles, just over 180k to be more precise, I knew I wanted to get a CX-5 as my next new used car. I researched a 2016 Mazda Cx-5 and booked a test drive at 9 am in the morning at North Shore Mazda in Danvers. When I walked into North Shore Mazda I was greeted by Duarte Bettencourt who helped me through the remaining process of purchasing my car. Duarte was very professional but what I love most about working with him was that he was super personable and as the world we live in gets more and more technical/technologically inclined, I believe it’s a human’s personability that makes them memorable. He certainly has that kindness about him. I test drove the 2016 Mazda Cx-5 with mileage under 40K and I liked the car a lot but I wasn’t fully in love with it. There were some cosmetic things exteriorly that I wasn’t super thrilled with. While I was test driving, Duarte took my Rav 4 in and had it assessed for trade in value. I was happy to know I could get $1700 for it. I had driven my Rav4 to San Diego and back and I had brought it to many national parks throughout the country. It used to be my mother’s car so I had a hard time parting with it. I wasn’t going to trade it in unless it was for something I really loved. And that’s when I saw my now new car. Just next to the car I test drove was a dark blue Mazda Cx-5 in practically perfect condition and I noted it had leather seats. It didn’t have side rails or crossbars but Duarte had informed me prior that if I purchased a vehicle that those could be added on. This blue CX-5 I was really interested in. When I walked back in from the test drive Duarte came back out to the lot with me and we stood next to and examined both cars side by side. I told him I wanted to know more about the blue CX-5 and he told me it had just been dropped off the afternoon before and had not yet been added to the inventory yet. We went back to his desk inside the dealership and he got me all the information I asked for on the car. My new used car is a 2017 Mazda Cx-5 Grand Touring, dark blue, black and tan leather interior, seat warmers, a sunroof, fully loaded navigation and come to find out Duarte informed me it had one prior owner for a 3 year lease. The gentlemen prior to me owning the car had leased it for his elderly mother who drove it to the grocery store and back and kept it in the garage. This car had get this…4,661 miles on it. That’s it. I worked the financing numbers with Duarte that day and ultimately offered KBB value for the car. I was able to have the siderails and cross bars added. (I do a lot of skiing and surfing so this was a must have for me.) We looked up all the history together and he ran several financing scenarios for me. I was able to go to my bank that day for a bank check and put a good down payment down for the car. I had to wait a week or so for the title to get mailed in from the previous owner/bank but once that was taken care of the process was so easy. North Shore Mazda had the car registered for me to my new address in Mass. The siderails and cross bars were added and my vehicle went through a Certified Pre-Owned 160 point check . When I dropped off my old car and picked up my new one this past weekend, Duarte even helped me cancel my Rhode Island plates from my Rav4 on their website. We did everything from his computer that day and he was so attentive. Brian Coyle from finance is also awesome. He helped me get the warranty on the car that was right for me so now I have service and coverage for the vehicle up to 100,000, as well as coverage for tires and fabric protection. Brian, I gathered is a hard-working family man and was also really personable. As a nurse working two jobs, one in Providence, RI per diem and one full time here in Mass I’m really happy that I have a reliable, great looking car for my commutes that I can count on through the winter. I hope I don’t have to buy another car for a very long time. I want to take great care of this one, pay it off fast and drive it for many years to come but if I have to purchase another car again, I’d go back to Duarte specifically again. I had a used Toyota Camry many years ago that I had purchased as a new college graduate and I have had a salesman in the past be very condescending when I asked if the car could be manual. I remember I was scoffed at, “Kristen can you even drive a standard car?” (For the record I’ve driven manual since age 15, it’s what I learned on) …that salesmen, which, I don’t recall his name, and Duarte are WORLD’S APART. I still drive my Dad’s standard Audi S4 from time to time when I go to visit. Yes I’m a woman, and yes I know a good car when I see one. Duarte was patient with me, all of my questions, and helped me purchase the car I really wanted and would work for me. I drove it up to NH on Sunday to climb Mount Major, the MAZDA CX-5 GRAND TOURING handles like a dream. Oh and did I mention it has a Bose Sound System? It does! Thank you Duarte for helping me get into a great car. I showed up at the right place at the right time and had one of the very best helping me out! Very blessed and fortunate-thank you for your hard work! More
