I was incredibly anxious about going to a dealership, and completely unsure of what to expect. Jon Walker at North Reading Subaru completely allayed those fears. I originally visited to test drive a used car that they had on lot, but the car had extensive engine problems (which they found when they ran it through the shop, and immediately informed me of). Jon worked with me to find a solution that worked within my budget, and I ended up leasing a Subaru Impreza that I love. Throughout the entire process, he (and the rest of the staff) were nothing but kind, helpful, and patient. Jon took the time to explain the process to me and went out of his way to answer all of my questions, both about the specific cars and deals, AND about the car-buying and -leasing process itself. He worked around my schedule, respected my budget, and truly made the entire experience so much less stressful. In addition, the contrast between the care and kindness with which I was treated at North Reading Subaru (despite my meager budget) and the dismissive response that I received when talking to other dealerships was nothing short of stunning. I could not have asked for a better experience, and I highly recommend this shop and the people who work there to anyone looking to buy/lease a new or used car. More

Sarah Baker-Siroty, my sales rep was a joy to work with throughout the whole process. I told her I was in the market for a new Honda and a friend suggested that I take a look at Subaru and I decided to stop in. Well, I never made it to the Honda dealership. There is a real family like atmosphere at Melkonian which made me feel at ease. The fact that several different employees looked up and said hi as I walked about through the dealership was a really nice touch. Often times people in the market for a new car have bad stories of “the manager in the office behind closed doors”. Well, I had a completely different experience. David Melkonian, the sales manager, came out and greeted me and we actually had a conversation about more than just cars. There was zero pressure to buy. He, in addition to Sarah were both a pleasure to work with. Oh, did I mention free ice cream and snacks? Treats like these make you feel at home and not at a car dealership. I told David I might just swing by sometime just for an ice cream and he told me I was more than welcome to do so. More

Totally stressless I just bought a used car from North Reading Subaru. It's the sixth car I've purchased in my life (and have shopped at many more dealers than that), and this - by far - was the least stressful, most pleasant experience of them all. Our first visit to them was on a very busy Saturday. It understandably took a few minutes for someone to attend to us, but when they did we had their undivided attention. I ended up putting a deposit on the car I had come to check out. Before I left the sales person asked us to wait a moment so the sales manager could come over to thank us. Like everyone I met there, he was really gracious and seemed to be a genuinely nice guy - not like so many sales folks at other dealerships who have a veneer of plastic pleasantness. There was zero sense of being rushed or pressured. When I returned on Monday to finalize the deal I dealt with a different sales person who was every bit as nice and relaxed as everyone else. The car was a 3 year old Crosstrek with low mileage. The price they gave me was totally fair, and they even threw in a auto-dimming mirror at no charge (a $250 item on the Subaru website), which they would install. They gave me about $1500 more on my trade-in than the other dealer I had checked out. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. I can't recommend them more enthusiastically. Fair, pleasant, no pressure, helpful, informed, no BS. More

I would recommend that she follow up more frequently immediately following any inquiry or even signed contract, as a customer needs to know that her purchase is relevant even if there are expected delays in the transaction. I was very happy with Isabel and look forward to working with her again in the future. She even got my inspection sticker for me which she didn't have to do and I appreciate her going above and beyond to satisfy her customer! More

I was working with Paul who I highly recommend to anyone seeking a new Subaru. Because I was trading in my lease for a car to finance, there were a few bumps in the road but nothing that the sales team could not overcome. They worked with me and gave me an offer I, or anyone else, could not refuse. All of this changed when we started working with Jon Walker and the other great folks at North Reading Subaru. My fiancé and I enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere (and ice cream!) and the honest, low-pressure approach to sales. I appreciated how Jon listened to all our questions (and puns) and provided information to help us select a vehicle with features that met our needs without trying to steer us one way or the other. We had our hearts set on the Island Blue color of a 2017 Impreza (which was less common than other colors), so Jon and his coworkers worked hard to find our prefect car and deliver it from Connecticut. The final sales portion of the process with Steve Bova (Business Manager) was easy and he was helpful with answering our questions. Overall it was a great experience and we will recommend this dealership to our friends. Even though we live very close to Wakefield Subaru, we plan to return to North Reading Subaru for vehicle service and to say hi to Jon. More

Painless buying experience I was looking for a replacement of my 2006 Honda Civic with 240K miles. I decided to get a 2017 Impreza, because of its similar size, AWD and very goo I was looking for a replacement of my 2006 Honda Civic with 240K miles. I decided to get a 2017 Impreza, because of its similar size, AWD and very good safety features. I checked 3 Subaru dealerships on the North Shore and eventually selected the one in North Reading because of the best price and no need to haggle at the dealership. The price was set by exchanging few emails with their sales department. Because I wanted the car with specific safety and color options, it had to be ordered from the factory and the delivery took place about 10 weeks later. Isabel Nelson was very helpful throughout the whole process and I would recommend her and the dealership to everyone looking for a new vehicle. More
