Incredibly pleasant experience purchasing a new vehicle After recovering from a horrible experience with a Salesperson and his Sales Manager at another Dalton, GA dealership a day earlier, I decided to see After recovering from a horrible experience with a Salesperson and his Sales Manager at another Dalton, GA dealership a day earlier, I decided to see what Toyota had to offer within 100 miles of my home. So I went out to AutoTrader online and began researching pricing on a new 2WD Tacoma with the V6. I found several in the area online that looked interesting, with many offering rebates and incentives on the 2019s that brought the price down within reason to the vehicle that I had attempted to purchase from the aforementioned "Dealership from xxxx"! With that in mind, I drove down the street to North Georgia Toyota to test drive a Tacoma to see if it would be a vehicle that I would even consider purchasing. My timing could not have been more perfect, as the dealership was a little short-staffed since it was almost closing time. This gave me time to walk the lot and compare most of the Tacoma trucks in inventory. As I headed down toward the office area I was met by their Salesperson Roger Thompson. Roger went through the usual line of questioning to qualify which vehicle I was interested in purchasing and to get a feel for what level of Tacoma I was considering. We, then, rode around the lot in one of their golf carts while I gave him a "yea" or "nay" on the ample selection they offered. Finally, I mentioned a Barcelona Red Tacoma SR5 that we had driven by at least twice. I hopped out of the cart to look at the window sticker, the markdown pricing, and most importantly to see if it had an acceptable interior color...and I determined this could possibly be the truck for me. Roger grabbed the key from inside and we hit the road for a test drive. I was impressed with the firm but smooth ride of the Tacoma and decided to have them "do the math" to see if the monthly payment would be in my range. Fortunately it was on target and Roger gave me a copy of the Finance Sheet with four monthly payment options based on how much I was willing to offer as down payment and with Toyota matching the finance rate that my Credit Union had offered. I left the dealership after telling him that I would "sleep on it" and let him know soon if I would be buying the vehicle. I left North Georgia Toyota that day thinking to myself how this guy represented himself and the business in a manner that was quite helpful and very professional...a total 180 degree experience from what I encountered the day before at the "Dealership from xxxx". The following morning I went back to their website and noticed a Barcelona Red Tacoma TRD was listed as an Internet Special and I contacted Roger to tell him that I wanted his F&I person to run the numbers on that truck just as he had done on the SR5. While Stephen Scully, the F&I guy, worked the numbers on that truck Roger sent me a picture of the TRD's interior to see if it was acceptable. I replied that it looked fine and I headed down to discuss the numbers with them. I met Roger at his desk and he sat down to cover the financing for the TRD, explaining that Stephen had made some minor adjustments with the interest rate to get me closer to my targeted monthly payment. Roger asked what I thought about both available truck options and, with no pressure at all, indicated that I could call him anytime if I decided to go with either one. Roger's demeanor, professionalism, and sense of humor as we talked convinced me that I need not go any further in searching for and purchasing a new truck. I made the decision then and there to purchase the 2019 Tacoma TRD as a result of the positive experience I was having with North Georgia Toyota. Again, no pressure to make a purchase made for such a pleasant experience...so pleasant that I moved up to a more expensive vehicle. Roger turned my attention to Stephen Scully to complete the F&I documentation and discuss whether or not I wanted any of the insurance options. Again, no pressure but sound advice from Stephen convinced me to add the 72 Month / 120,000 mile warranty extension. I had intended to add GAP Insurance and had him include that as well. I realize this has been a bit of a long-winded review, but it is important to me that folks know that all auto sales people and dealers are not created equal. But, you have to filter through some bad ones to find one like Roger Thompson...definitely a class act! And a big kudos to Stephen as well, as he is well versed in his job and never pressured me to make an additional insurance purchase. So, this review process advises us to explain the "why" for giving the overall rating of this dealership. Ok, I gave North Georgia Toyota five stars for one reason...the review process here would not allow me to give them ten stars!! I encourage anyone looking to purchase a new car or truck to contact Roger Thompson for a new Toyota or for one of their many pre-owned vehicles on their lot. Good people here!! More
The experience I want from a dealership. Mr. Curtis and Mr. Thompson was nothing but helpful. I went in knowing what vehicle I wanted to look at, we discussed the truck, drove it and I depart Mr. Curtis and Mr. Thompson was nothing but helpful. I went in knowing what vehicle I wanted to look at, we discussed the truck, drove it and I departed for the evening encouraging that i may be back the following day. They thanked me for coming and didn't try to push me into a sale that day. The following day I was able to return and began the purchase process. They got the paper work under way, insured I knew all my options and respected what ever choice's I made regarding any extras. This is what I want to see. Exactly the reason I returned here to purchase my 2016 Tacoma after buying my 2011 4Runner years ago. Thanks again! More
