We needed to get out from under our high interest rate and Jalen helped us get into a new 2018 Accord with an interest rate half of what our trade in had! The atmosphere at North CC Honda was very comfortable, and the process was quick and painless. More
Quick and easy The staff was great and really seemed like they wanted to help and make a deal. They wouldn’t stop until I was 100% satisfied with my experience. We ex We went on-line and found a vehicle that caught our eye. We called North Corpus Christi Honda and spoke with Jalen Gonzales, a Sales Consultant. We explained to him our price range, the vehicle we wanted and made an appointment to visit with him the next day. When we arrived, he met us at the door (even though we were 30 minutes early). He already had several vehicle that met the criteria we had requested. We were impressed with Jalen’s way of remembering every detail down to the color, style, type of seat covers, etc. We also like the way we did not feel pressured at any time . He helped us chose what was best for us. He treated us with dignity and respect. The staff was also very friendly and we were so impressed to find Gilbert in the Service Department. He has serviced our vehicles for many years and we fully trust him with our Honda. This is our seventh (7th) Honda, and we have to admit this was the best experience we have ever had purchasing a vehicle. Our thanks to Jalen Gonzales and everyone at North Corpus Christi Honda for make our purchasing experience a pleasant and enjoyable one. More

Unknowledgeable/Unwilling to Negotiate UPDATE: Today I spoke with Steve Brodsky, the BDC Manager for the dealership over the phone to help each other better understand what happened and UPDATE: Today I spoke with Steve Brodsky, the BDC Manager for the dealership over the phone to help each other better understand what happened and why I left the review that I did. We were able to come to an understanding with each other, and I appreciated his professionalism and sincere desire to understand what could've been done better. He did promise me that my comments would be used as a learning experience and that they would be incorporated into the dealership's training regimen. While I do intend to leave my original review posted for any potential customer to be able to read about my initial experience, I am also compelled to write this addendum that, while the deal between myself and the dealership couldn't be made, they did take the steps I believe were necessary to right a wrong, and are a business with good leadership and potential to grow. ORIGINAL: By far the worst car buying experience I've ever had. I ultimately walked away from the truck I wanted to buy, but I still feel it is important for people to know what to expect based on a real customer's experience, and not the employees fluffing the reviews, as I've read through them. My salesman was extremely unknowledgeable, regardless of the fact that I was looking at a used Toyota, and this is a Honda dealership. He had an entire day and a half from the time I initially came in to test drive to the time I came in to make a deal to do his homework on the vehicle and be able to hold a conversation about it during the test drive. I showed him several other listings of comparable vehicles in emails prior to coming in the second time in order to not only show him what the competition is offering, but give him an idea of the ballpark price I had in mind. Despite that, I was only given a vague promise of a "great deal" in response. Without putting too much emphasis on the fact that the detailing department forgot to clean off all the sand in the engine bay (which isn't necessarily a deal breaker on a used truck for me, especially in this area), and remove the previous owner's GoPro mount from the inside of the windshield (which is a deal breaker for me, because that tells me that the previous owner was potentially abusing the truck off-road,) the negotiation process was a disaster. The absolute first thing my salesman wanted to do once we sat down at the table was run my credit "in order to ensure I'm getting the best possible deal." This is absurd. A credit inquiry is completely unnecessary when negotiating the sale price of a vehicle, and should only be performed once a deal has been reached and the financing process has begun. Also, not only was it apparent that the salesman had not looked at the other listings of comparable vehicles at lower prices that I had emailed him because he made no attempt to adjust the sale price of the truck to beat the competition, he also tried to tack on an additional $700 for some mystery paint sealant that, in his words, "is applied to every vehicle we take in." At this point, I realized the deal was not going to happen, and began to walk out. Before I could, though, the sales manager comes walking out to try and resurrect the deal, except he greets my friend as if he was the one trying to make a deal, and not me. He also informed me that the $700 paint sealant that the salesman had previously informed me was applied to every vehicle on the lot, was in fact only an option. I'm not sure what the truth is. The sales manager then informed me that the reason they were having difficulty negotiating with me is because "I wasn't like their typical customer." I suppose being an informed buyer who has researched the competition and knows how the process should go puts me outside of the training regimen for this dealership's sales team. It was only after I left that the salesman offered a lower price in an email. It was only $1000 lower than sticker. Overall, I just got the feeling that my business wasn't wanted, and that the salesman was ill-equipped to handle a buyer whose only motivation is price, and not relative value. I understand that a new dealership is going to be less inclined to negotiate a lower price than sticker, as they want to maximize their initial profits, but that's no excuse to not even attempt to compete with other area dealerships, especially when it's spoon-fed to the salesman. I can't recommend this dealership to anyone who expects to actually get a "great deal" after being promised one, and I encourage any potential customer, whether looking at new or used vehicles, to do their research about not only other comparable vehicles, but how to negotiate, and be prepared before going in. I was promised a great deal, but was offered no such thing. I also hope that the staff is able to take this seriously and learn from it, as I want to see a new local business succeed. In order to do that, though, a business has to be competitive, and a new dealership can't rely on a sense of value, or a reputation that it hasn't earned yet, in order to compete. More
