WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE, STAY AWAY What is one huge mistake one can make when shopping for a new Honda?-to even consider getting it from Grossinger Honda on Western Ave, in Chicago. A What is one huge mistake one can make when shopping for a new Honda?-to even consider getting it from Grossinger Honda on Western Ave, in Chicago. And this is why: We were looking for a NEW 2016 Honda Crv and this dealer had a couple, we had agreed on an OK price over the internet and drove out there on Saturday to purchase our CRV. This is the ONLY reason we drove to this dealership, which is pretty far from how house with about 4 other Honda dealerships much closer. When we got there on a cold rainy Saturday morning, no one seem to be too interested in us, I had to look for the manager (Mark Fitzpatrick) that I had been e-mailing and speaking over the phone with. Do not believe a word that is written about any of the managers in their bio on the website, in person everything is just the opposite. He grabbed the first sales person to help us, this person was Finnis Bowie. After driving a 2016 CRV we find out that it is far from new, it’s been a demo car for the last 2 years. Very disappointed we looked into 2017 CRV, after driving it, we decided to go with the 2017. BY that time, we had already spent a few hours at the dealership, our sales person showed no interest in us, he kept wondering off and we had to constantly look for him to find out what is going on and why we are sitting and constantly waiting and not being told anything. I still regret not getting up and just going to a different dealership, where customers are treated with respect by sales people and the management. But it was raining and we had already wasted all this time. I will skip the very painful negotiation process with Mark Fitzpatrick, then I was required to sign an application for them to run my credit, we had an outside financing already in place, and I saw no reason for them to run my credit. I explained by Mark, in a very rude manner, with eyes rolling that they have to put a hard inquiry on my credit to verify my identity, but had no way of providing me anything in writing stating that. I did get a note from another manager to that effect that I need to get a confirmation on the legality of this “internal procedure”. While I was in the finance office, my husband had to look all over the dealership for someone to remove the plates from a car we traded in and to install it on the new one, once we got home and were removing the advertisement plate cover from Grossinger, because now we ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY from this dealership, we learned that the plates were basically ripped off the old car and now I have to order new plates as well……..Once we were almost done in the finance office, with the only polite, professional person that we dealt with at the this dealership, I looked at the key and noticed that the color written on the tag is not the color of the car we are purchasing. Lois, the finance person, looked into it further and found out that Finnis put in the wrong vehicle information in the computer and all the paperwork had to be changed. At the end, we were happy that we drove off in a new car, but the stress, the humiliation, the disrespect that came with it, is just impossible to get over. More

So, I have my Honda Accord 2014 and I do regular service for my car at Grossinger. Few day ago I received an email from them with the following content: “I need to take in 3 2014 Honda Accords to expand my inventory and would like to buy yours. As the General Manager, I can offer you more than book value! Please call me A.S.A.P. Thanks. --Brian Weinberg grossingerhonda.com 773-938-9022 “ I made an appointment to show my car and on the next day I came to the dealership. I didn’t meet Brian, but they assigned to me a sales person. He took a look on my car and asked “On how much you can go up with a new Honda?”. I was thinking that they are going to buy my car and I didn’t plan to switch to another Honda. So, I said that I can consider another Honda ONLY if my monthly payment will be lower and if they will pay off my car 100%, which is almost 16k (it’s financed through the bank). I said, that if they can not offer me a lower price - they can just buy my Accord if they are truly interested. He got my SSN to see what I owe to the bank for this car. It took almost an hour. The sales person came back to me and impertinently kept trying to sell a car to me. All this time I was extremely patient and nice to him. Then I got tired and asked to stop wasting my time if their email was a scam. Than the manager came and went by the same scenario. I feel deceived and offended. They stole 1,5 hour of my time. I can’t believe that big company like this using such ugly swindling tricks. PS: A month ago we bought a Mercedes for my husband and their service is just excellent. We didn’t experienced any dirty sales tactics. More
