I purchased a 2005 Jaguar from Pride Suzuki of Olathe on 7-15-2011. I bought the car with a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty. They gave me $6475 for my trade in, bringing the grand total of the car with warranty to $16975.00. I have had to take the car back 5 times for repairs. The car actually died in front of the dealership a few days after I purchased it. It was doing a hard shift in 6th gear, and giving a "Gear Box Fault" error. I was told it needed a new O2 Sensor. I ended up taking the car to Aristocrat Motors. They told me it needed a new transmission. They filed a claim with the warranty company. The warranty company denied the claim because it has a remanufactured transmission. I was never told this verbally or in writing, during the sell of the vehicle. It was also not on the Carfax Pride Suzuki supplied me at the time of the sell. The Carfax did show the mileage had been rolled back though. Pride Suzuki told me that that was a common error and they would contact Carfax to fix it. I was supplied with a "corrected" Carfax a week later. I took the car back to Pride Suzuki of Olathe, and explained what Aristocrat diagnosed. The Owner told me he needed his guys to diagnose the issue. They determined that the the airflow intake sensor was bad. They put a new sensor on and told me it was still hard shifting but until the transmission actually died there was nothing they could do. I took the vehicle and left, and before I made it home the Check Engine light cam on. I took it back and told them this wasn't happening before I came there. They told me that I needed new ignition coils and it would cost me $809 and would not be covered by the warranty either! Finally the Owner told me to come back the next day and he would "make it right". I came back and he had a Salesman offer to purchase the vehicle I just spent $16975.00 for six months ago, for $8000.00. He wanted me to come out of pocket for another $9000.00 to trade out of the car. This would mean that I would be out the initial investment and have given them two vehicles for one in the matter of 6 months! I'm currently pursuing legal action. More
I purchased a used vehicle on June 6th 2011. I was talked into getting the extended warranty since I was getting a used vehicle, and was also talked into the paint and interior treatment sine I am expecting into getting the extended warranty since I was getting a used vehicle, and was also talked into the paint and interior treatment sine I am expecting my 4th child. The vehicle started having problems hours after i had left the lot. I spoke to Shane about them and was told the would look at it the following Monday when I came back for the paint treatment. a couple days later it was making a grinding noise when placed in gear. I spoke to Shane on Thursday and was told I would be called back after he spoke to the service manager to see if should bring it in right away or could it wait until Monday since i lived further away. I was never called back. I didn't even speak to Shane until he approached me with new paperwork for my boyfriend and I to sign that changed the price of the vehicle to reflect the new interest rate. He instructed us to lie to the bank about our living residence. And then I was told that I would have to pay for the repair to my vehicle. Apparently it doesn't fall in coverage of anything I paid extra for, even though it was having trouble hours after leaving. I was told they were doing me a favor by paying for 50% of the repairs, however I have priced it and I paid full price. I requested to speak to Steve Tolbert personally and was never contacted. This is the most unprofessional place I have dealt with, and I hope this helps others to do research before making a costly mistake like I did. More
Purchase of an automobile with a buy as is. The uautomjobile was defictive with a blown head gasket which was noticed the next day after the purchase. Purchase of a 1998 Cadillac SST on September uautomjobile was defictive with a blown head gasket which was noticed the next day after the purchase. Purchase of a 1998 Cadillac SST on September 17, 2010. Salesman was Matt Buek. He actually cried wanting to make the sales. On September 18, 2010, I noticed the engine heating up. I called and walked with the salesman, and his response was y ou bought , its your problem. On September 20,2010, I took the car to Lindan Automotive and collant was very low. Replaced coolant. Car heated up again on September 21, 2010. Lindan Automotive run tests on the engine and found the head gasket to be blown. I called the sales person Matt Buek again and advised him of the blown head gasket, and his reply was you bought it and its now concern of yours. I asked to speak with the owner Steve Tolbert and was told he was busy. I left my phone number. There was no return call. On September 24, 2010, I called again, and was told Steve Tolbert was busy, so I left my hone number again, and still no return call. On December 3, 2010 I received a solicitation from Steve Tolbert Suzuki, wasnting me to refer customers to them. I sent a certified return receipt letter to Steve Tolbert advising him of the above. Alsolutely no call. I realise this was a buy as is, but it seems to me that under the ab ove situation they should refund me for the the purchase and take the car back. As of this date Steve Tolbert has accepted absolutely no responsiblity for this. The reason I made no personal appearance at the dealership was that Matt Buek was very hostile in his conversations with me in that "you are just trying to cause trouble so don't come here." More
Worst car buying experience I have ever had. I went to this dealership on 1-1-11 and purchased a new 2010 Suzuki Kazashi. I negotiated a price of $14,800.00 cash and my trade. Once I got into the busine this dealership on 1-1-11 and purchased a new 2010 Suzuki Kazashi. I negotiated a price of $14,800.00 cash and my trade. Once I got into the business office the business manager (Mr. Magsalin) manipulated the numbers and completely changed the terms I had agreed to with the salesman and sales mangager. I did not finance this car, I paid cash because I had already arranged financing before I ever went into the delaership. When I realized that Mr. Magsalin had padded the numbers in favor of the dealer I called him on it. He made some adjustments but still did not adhere to the terms I had previously agreed upon. Once I got home and refigured the numbers I immediately tried to contact Steve Tolbert and reconcile the problems. Mr. Tolbert refused to even acknowledge there was a problem or even discuss it with me. To make matter worse, the dealer also charged me $499.00 plus tax for a dealer installed option they say they applied to the car called Xzilon. I filed a complaint against Steve Tolbert Suzuki with the BBB of Greater Kansas City. In the complaint I asked that the Dealership show proof or provide me with a signed, sworn statement that the Xzilon treatment, I was charged for, was actually applied to the car. The Dealer refused to show proof and has refused to refund my money or explain why they forged my name to the Xzilon paperwork. The BBB administratively closed the complaint today because of Steve Tolbert Suzuki's refusal to cooperate with the BBB. They basically stonewalled the complaint. If you buy a car from this dealership get the price you negotiate in writing and signed by the Sales Manager before you go into the Business Office to complete the transaction. Also, note that they are not advertising as Steve Tolbert Suzuki in the Kansas City Star anymore. They are advertising the Steve Tolbert Collection. Any reputable automobile dealer should easily be able to prove that they actually provided a service they charged for. This delaership refused to provide proof to the Better Business Bureau of Kansas City that they actually had documented evidence to support the service they charged me for. More
