I brought in my car for a specific issue—a turn signal bulb that kept burning out. Seven months earlier, another dealership had replaced the motherboard, per my request, but the problem continued. After moving to Los Angeles, I hoped Nissan Downtown would finally diagnose the issue properly. Instead, the service advisor tried to charge me $780 just for the diagnostic, claiming it required extensive computer testing. When I said that price was far too high and was prepared to leave, he lowered it to $260! So, I dropped off my car at the end of the day on Saturday, and they returned to me on Wednesday, three days later, with a list of 11 problems (out of courtesy they advise what else is wrong with the car, from fluids to broken parts). The service estimate totaling about $ 5,000! However, they never addressed the signal bulb properly. They never did the extensive computer testing the Service Advisor claimed he would. Instead, they said the part was aftermarket and recommended replacing it with an OEM part. They assumed that because the car is old, I was using aftermarket parts. However, I explained that the part had been installed by a Nissan dealership in the Inland Empire, and I said I would file a complaint if they had used aftermarket parts. Next day, the service advisor called to say it had been a mistake. The part was original, but it was made in Mexico, so the mechanic did not recognize it. They then offered the diagnostic for free. However, the service advisor still suggested replacing the bulb with an OEM one " to save me some money". I explained that the bulb itself was not the issue, because even if it had been aftermarket, it should not have burned out within two days. I told him that need my car fixed because I could be stopped by the police or worse, cause an accident. The problem appears to be electrical, and they either do not know how to fix it or are not interested because it is not worth their time. At that point, I had lost confidence in the dealership. If they cannot resolve a simple turn signal issue, how can I trust them with a more serious repair? I then suggested MYSELF for them to change the wire harness at the cost of $398.77. Well, It has been three days since I haven’t heard from them. The Service Advisor does not return my calls or texts. He left me another weekend, (Memorial Day) without a car. They do not care to reply to my texts or give a courtesy call back. Very disrespectful. Extremely unprofessional service. I even don't know if the service department opens on Memorial Day. I chatted virtually and the virtual assistance confirmed they would. I'll cross my fingers. More
