Exceptional treatment purchasing my Durango at Nielsen Dodge Knowing that the lease on my 2010 GMC Acadia was going to be up at the end of May, I was going crazy looking around at various dealerships trying to f Knowing that the lease on my 2010 GMC Acadia was going to be up at the end of May, I was going crazy looking around at various dealerships trying to find something that appealed to me and that I could afford. I knew, after my experience with the Acadia, that I didn't want another GM product; but there really wasn't anything by Honda, Toyota, Ford, or any other car company, for that matter, that really intrigued me until a visit to another car dealership where I came across the 2014 Dodge Durango and absolutely fell in love with it! The car was absolutely amazing but, unfortunately, the arrogant and pushy salesmen at that agency weren't even close to that! At that point, we finally came to the decision as to the car we wanted. Now, we had to find a new agency to purchase the car through because I knew that I didn't want to deal with that agency! Out of the blue, I came across Nielsen Dodge. With the amazingly-wonderful help and guidance of our saleswoman, Amanda Chevannes, I was able to get the car of my dreams! She was absolutely awesome in every way. She took the time to go through all the paperwork with us, explaining everything, every little detail in full, just so we would be absolutely comfortable with our new purchase. She couldn't do enough for us, from constantly offering us drinks and refreshments, to answering any question that we might have had. Then, after spending about four hours with us, she took us outside to explain and go over every detail of our new car. Because it was a 2014 Durango, you can only imagine how long that took. She explained everything to us like she had all the time in the world; and, wow, does she know her stuff! She went over the car from front to back with a fine tooth comb and, honestly, didn't finish until, I believe, almost 10:00pm! From the moment we arrived at the dealership at 5:30 pm to the time we left at almost 10:00 pm, Amanda was absolutely wonderful to us the whole time and couldn't do enough for us. Just as we were about to leave, she made it known that she'd always be there for us if we needed her for anything at all; and after making a huge purchase like the one that we just made, hearing her say that really put our minds at ease. I can't thank Amanda enough for her patience, consideration, diligence, and incredible effort that she put into our car purchase. She's an absolute wonderful asset to Nielsen Dodge; and of all the dealerships in the state of New Jersey, I can't tell you how lucky we feel to have gotten her as our saleswoman. She's the absolute best! Thank You so very much, Amanda! Special mention should be made for our telephone experience with Sylvia Velez and Julia, who were also informative, accommodating, courteous, and diligent, with whom we negotiated the deal. Love the car...didn't love the experience We were at the dealership for quite a long time to negotiate and finalize a deal on my new Jeep. The car I ended up getting is wonderful and I am ver We were at the dealership for quite a long time to negotiate and finalize a deal on my new Jeep. The car I ended up getting is wonderful and I am very happy with it. But the experience of sitting at the dealership for so many hours was not enjoyable in any way. Our Sales Consultant, Alex Ortiz, was super friendly and did a very good job of explaining things to us. And when I said I didn't want to play a long negotiating game, he did a good job of getting me the price I needed to close the deal without too many back-and-forth interactions. But if I am being honest, I don't feel like I got a GREAT deal at Nielsen. I think the deal I got was reasonable, but considering I had a fairly good trade-in and we were returning customers, I didn't leave feeling like they really gave me their best possible price. That feeling might be compounded by the fact after agreeing to a deal, I then had to sit in the showroom for two more hours to wait for a finance officer to do the paperwork (and such). The dealership also had a baseball autograph promotion going on in the showroom while I was there. I found the event very disrupting too, as it had a DJ that was just blasting musing and long line of non-car buyers in the middle of the showroom. I can't imagine they gained any immediate customers from the promotion, but it surely did aggravate this actual customer. They should rethink such events and only host them when they won't be held right outside of the finance officers where people waiting to hear about bank and loan approvals have to sit. The insanity of the event didn't do anything to help relieve the stress of buying/leasing a new vehicle. More
