DECEPTIVE and FRAUDULENT DEALER JUST TO BE CLEAR, NEMET's "LIFETIME" Powertrain Warranty is a giant L I E. I bought a brand spanking new Nissan Platinum Pathfinder from Nemet in 2 JUST TO BE CLEAR, NEMET's "LIFETIME" Powertrain Warranty is a giant L I E. I bought a brand spanking new Nissan Platinum Pathfinder from Nemet in 2014. I've maintained all required vehicle services at their dealership and completed all recommended maintenance at their dealership despite the fact that I live in Long Island. I've done this to stay compliant with their so called "Lifetime" Powertrain Warranty only to have them deny repairing my transmission since my mileage is at 109,000 miles. Although their Nemet LPW clearly states that there is no restriction on elapsed miles (see below) which is posted on their website in full detail, they claim that this coverage expires at 100,000 miles! I asked them to show me where it states that and they cannot. Nemet's phone greeting is "HOME OF THE LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY" and when you're on hold, it repeats this slogan over and over again, and if that's not disgusting enough, they will say it right to your face to entice you to purchase a vehicle from them. That's part of the reason I bought and serviced my car with them. WELL I GOT SWINDLED. I've been nothing but a loyal customer, in addition to buying my car from them, my husband and I have recommended them and leased cars from them in the past. I wonder if Tom Nemet is turning in his grave know knowing how they are running his dealership. General manager Scott Perlstein has not returned my calls or my husband’s calls. Both the Service manager and Sales manager have no good explanation except to state that my mileage is over 100,000 miles and they can't explain their Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. They actually act like they've never seen it before. Makes me feel like I’m in the Twilight zone. I've been trying to resolve this for weeks now to no avail. Interestingly enough I found that Nemet settled a lawsuit just last year with the Queens attorney general representing numerous consumers over fraudulent business practices and deceptive sales tactics. In addition to filing official complaints with various agencies, I do intend on contacting the AG Barbara Underwood's office so I'd recommend that if anyone has experienced the lies of Nemet to do the same and perhaps hold we can hold this dealership accountable once again. If you have the required vehicle maintenance performed at the selling dealer, then Lifetime Powertrain Protection will continue as long as you own the vehicle! There is no restriction on time or elapsed miles. **The real answer to that question is that it expires whenever they want it to. More
