Buyer Beware !!! BUYER BEWARE !! I am currently in the middle of a nightmare with this dealership, I have learned not to trust anyone's word there, as I have been lied BUYER BEWARE !! I am currently in the middle of a nightmare with this dealership, I have learned not to trust anyone's word there, as I have been lied to & pushed off multiple times by multiple people there, from the Owner's wife Gabriela to the Finance manager Myron. The engine light on the 2004 VW Passat came on during our way home from the dealership. We called immediately and brought it back after having it inspected at the VW dealership. It was found to be LEAKING OIL, LEAKING COOLANT, and NEEDED A CATALYTIC CONVERTER. This never would have passed an inspection. (I took pictures) We were told personally by the owner's wife before we purchased the car, that that the Timing belt was changed, Gabriela went to ask her mechanic ( Bernard Hirsch / who passed the car for inspection also, which I don't understand how a car can pass inspection while leaking oil & coolant ), and told us, assured us, it had been replaced already. We were lied to. we never would have bought a car we needed to sink another 4 thousand $ into. I was told that the timing belt was changed already , as it was past 100k miles,.a deal-breaker I had told them if it had not been done yet, as we could not afford it. (Being pregnant & spending our last penny practically on this $5k + vehicle.) On the 2 days I was there, I saw several customers COME IN WITH COMPLAINTS to bring back their newly purchased vehicles for lights coming on or engine failure. I should have paid attention to that sign. They have now had our car for almost 2 weeks and not a single this has been corrected on it. I spoke with the owner's wife as the general manager was busy, & was received with snide giggles & he unwillingness to admit to the things she said..(as they refuse to give me the owner's name or contact info), I have already contacted Baltimore NEWs & am proceeding with filing a report with the BBB. I was assured by Myron we would get our money back, now he is refusing. How dare they take the last money from a struggling pregnant couple for a car that is breaking down & won't pass inspection. SHAME ON YOU, I hope you never sell another car, BUYER BEWARE (I sent them a copy of this review, no response from it) (currently the engine leaks & converter are authorized to be fixed, after much hassle & double talk) Update; National Motors has lied again, They have taken my car and not repaired it, refused repair while it is under warranty, all because I got the Attorney General Involved, but it is due to their lies and cheating business practice that I had to involve them, which they tell me it is an Urgent & Valid complaint !! More

Good or bad, you get what you pay for My experience with National Motors was about what you'd expect for a first-time car buyer. You go in bight-eyed and bushy tailed, optimistic of what could happen when (a) you find a car you like and (b) whether or not your finances will allow it. Lets start with (a), I found the car on cars.com 80,000 miles strong for $9995, not a bad deal, so i check it out. Initially i'm not blown away by the performance of the vehicle so we try other locations at a similar price point, Including their now defunct Ellicot City branch, to no avail. So upon returning to the Joppa road facility i try the car again and realize its not as bad as the other cars i tried, but there was a humming noise coming from what we presumed to be caused by the tires. Now on to (b), In this instance with the paper work being drawn up we told them that if you could swap the tires to negate the humming noise, we're sold, and they happily obliged. This being my first car purchase i assumed i'd need a co-signer to finish the transaction but, and this is where they shine, are running a first time buyers program, which enables you to purchase a vehicle on your own. Bonus points for that. All in all i had a pretty good car buying experience with National Motors and would, and have recommended them to other potential customers. More

As my family was growing, we had to get a bigger car... I had no idea what we wanted and what we needed. Not to mention what finance options could we choose from. It didn't take us long to get approved for financing at a really low interest rate (savings came in handy with twins:)).
