Finance Scam I went to this dealership this weekend and bought a CPO 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The car is great, but the sales and financing experience was lacking. I w I went to this dealership this weekend and bought a CPO 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The car is great, but the sales and financing experience was lacking. I went in knowing that I wanted to look at two used cars I had already researched (Ford Fusion and the Hyundai Sonata). I am happy with my choice, but my sales guy was pushy and would not really even entertain the idea of looking at the Ford, instead he wanted me to look at new cars. The process took a few hours and when I finally got into the finance office I was disappointed. Just like I had researched the cars, I had also researched the finances pretty thoroughly. I knew going in that I was pre-approved for a %3.99 72 month loan, and I had already done most of the calculations including down payments, tax, fees etc. The final cost of my loan should have been about $16,000 and brought me to payments of $250 a month (using the loan calculator of the bank I am approved through), but the financial manager told me my monthly payments would be $272. I asked him what the cause was and he didn't have an answer. I told him that's not the numbers I came up with and he just looked at me like I was stupid. I asked him if we could negotiate the dealer fees and he said no, that's their profit. So to "make me feel better" he said he could work in the GAP protection, oil changes etc. which would only bring the payments up to $279. I conceded that a $7 difference was worth the services so I agreed. I had already been there 3 1/2 hours at this point so I didn't look to closely at the paperwork with the final numbers (my fault, but he was also rushing me in a fairly condescending manner). The more research I did once I got home and looked at the paperwork it turns out that he charged me the full price for the extra services and must have just lied about the monthly payment the first time with the intention of working them in, because if I take away the cost of the extras, my payments would in fact be $250. Luckily I realized this only days later and I can cancel the services if I want, but I am not very happy with the experience. I am 23 and a first time car buyer and I tried to do my research, but they made me question myself and took advantage. Definitely learned my lesson. More

New car purchase After dealing at length with Big John, which was a pleasure, we were introduced to the finance manager, to finalize the deal. We told him ( can't remeber his name ) we were paying cash and were anticipating a quick transaction in his office! This manager tried extremely rudly and abnoxioulsy to have us lease our 2015 Sonata instead of purchasing. What shoulD have been a quick transaction took forever. He tried over and over and over to have us lease the vehicle. We told him several times we were not interested in a lease AT ALL but he kept going. He told us he leases both his vehicle, a mercedes and a land rover, ( it says a lot when a car dealer mangager doesn't even drive the product he sells ) and it's the best thing in the universe. In 3 years we would turn in our 2015 Sonata and LEASE a new one and during this period, not spend a dime on the 2015. He said that in 3 years without the lease our 2015 would be basically worthless because of depriciation. At this point my wife and I were ready to get up and walk out of the dealer, but we unfrotunately didn't. Well, it got better. He tried to sell us extra warranties and some product to protect the cars' finish. Once again, we informed him we were not interested in any of it. He said that by the time the car was 3 old it would look like crap and basically self implode because we declined all the extras. He made us feel real stupid by buying this car. Ironically, we bought the car based on its 10 year limited warranty and safety features and reputation after much research. But he wasn't selling any of the great features of this vehicle. Just the Lease and extra warranties so he could make more comission. During part of the process he yelled at some other dealer employee loudly and rudely, as if my wife and I were not sitting in his office and were invisible. This is the worst new car experince we have ever had in our lives. I don't know if we'll ever buy a Hyundai ever again, but we'll probably never go back to Ed Napletons dealer. More
