DO NOT GO HERE!! Please do not think that I am exaggerating or being dramatic. This was my first time buying a car from a dealer and I could not have felt worse leaving. At first, I thought mayb exaggerating or being dramatic. This was my first time buying a car from a dealer and I could not have felt worse leaving. At first, I thought maybe this is how all dealers operate. Then I spoke to a few people and found how abnormal my experience was. I did some research and found that many others agree with me. It appears that all of the salesman had a heart transplant, but instead of having it replaced with a heart like a normal human, a spawn of the devil holding a burning swastika was implanted (ok, this may be a bit over the top). They treated me like I was stupid and had a new sales pitch every time I refused to pay asking price. First, they would not lower the price at all and sneakily added a "cert" which is a warranty, to the price without my consent. Then they tried to get me to sign a hand written document, saying I would commit to the monthly payment I want. I refused and made then re word it so I would not be legally bound...At the end I was able to get 1000$ off the car. This was after and hour of negotiating and finally raising my voice, yelling I would not buy there 2000$ rip off warranty. Please do NOT GO THERE!!!!! They are very forceful and unprofessional. Oh yeah, another group was sitting next to me and tried leaving during their process a few times. I sat there watching their person beg and demand they sit back down. The first thing the salesman asks for is your license so you can't leave when you want. It is taken to their secret "negotiating" room. More
I would not recommend this dealership. The salesperson was extremely friendly but the new car sales manager cannot be trusty. My husband and i wanted to purchase a CX-7 Sport and have a sun roof, the boi was extremely friendly but the new car sales manager cannot be trusty. My husband and i wanted to purchase a CX-7 Sport and have a sun roof, the boise stero system, fog lights and a compass added to the deal. Jullian the new car manager stated there was no problem with that and went on to say that he found the vehicle we wanted that included the boise system and the sun roof. They would have to add the compass and the fog lights. He initially stated it was coming from Minnesota and then stated it was coming from their sister store but in any case had the boise system and the sun roof and only needed the fog lights and the compass added. This was deal was done before the holidays and Jullian stated that we would have to wait for the vehicle--needless to say we waited and waited and waited. Each time we called he had a different excuse. Finally when the vehicle came in we went to pick it up only to find that it did not have the boise stero system installed. Jullian then claimed that the boise system does not come in the trim we wanted and we would have to buy the more expensive vehicle. If you ask me that seems like the old bait and switch tatic......Also the interest rate the Mazda was offering on these vehicles was 2.9% and they charged me 3.9%. When questioned the finance guy claimed that Mazda does not offer the 2.9% on the CX-7 but when i went home and checked on line sure enough the interest rate for the Mazda CX-7 was indeed 2.9%. When we called them back they said it was an honest mistake but if you ask me there have been too many "honest" mistakes made and all i can say is buyer beware with this dealership...... More
I was very pleased with the customer service at Oak Lawn Mazda. I purchased my Mazda3 Sport from them and I am extremely happy with my car. When I first walked into the dealership, I was relieved to know th Mazda. I purchased my Mazda3 Sport from them and I am extremely happy with my car. When I first walked into the dealership, I was relieved to know that they have a large inventory of cars to choose from. The quality of customer service was great - I was greeted in a friendly manner and was well taken care of. I was satisfied with the answers I got for the all my questions regarding features, warranty financing etc. Overall, I paid a reasonable amount for my car and I would highly recommend this dealership! Oaklawn seems like they have decent prices, but when I sat down with them....it all came to a head. The car was listed at $13,800. It was a great car and worth every cent of that. They tried to offer me p sat down with them....it all came to a head. The car was listed at $13,800. It was a great car and worth every cent of that. They tried to offer me payments of $464 for 48 months! That comes to over $22,000! Then I figured out that they snuck in a $2000 extended warranty package. Even if I wanted the warranty (which I didn't), my out the door cost should have only been $17,000 or less, once my trade-in, fees and taxes were factored in! They wouldn't even entertain that I was preapproved by my bank for 6%. In fact, they would not disclose what interest rate they were using to estimate my payments. It seemed like 30%! They didn't even do a credit check to see that I had a score of 745! When I called them on their lack of transparency, I added the numbers that THEY gave me right in front of them and it didn't come near what they were charging. What were these hidden numbers?!! The salesman seemed dumbfounded when he realized that the manager's numbers didn't add up. I kept asking them to SHOW ME THE NUMBERS....and they wouldn't! In the end, they refused to sell me the car unless I bought the "not required" extended warranty for $2000. Their final offer was $422 for 48 mos, which is a way high even with the warranty....whatever. I walked. More
I wanted to buy a Mazda3 advertised on internet. I selected 3 of their current listings. When I asked the salesman he couldn't find any of them on the lot. They had other similar cars but $1000 more e selected 3 of their current listings. When I asked the salesman he couldn't find any of them on the lot. They had other similar cars but $1000 more expensive. They refused to honor the advertised price. I did test drive some cars and I decided about one in particular priced sticker price $129000 ($1000 more than similar car advertised). They had very little concern about the value of this difference like the a thousand dollars is no big deal. I give them my trade in for estimate and they offered me minimal value. I was disappointed and I tried to eliminate this variable from the deal saying I don't trade in anymore. When they came with the price it had $3200 added for tax, title and certification. It took the inexperienced salesman 1 hour to explain me in detail what those fees where. It was $2000 the certification fee. This is rip off for a car still in manufacturer warranty on which they didn't repair any cosmetic defects. I asked for my car keys back to leave. It took more than an hour to recover my keys. Really pointless delay because I offered to buy the car if they had dropped the certification fee which they didn't accepted. If you spend time to read this you should know about this dealership that: 1. They are dishonest in advertised price, 2. Don’t value your trade in, 3. Expect to pay more for the same car as other places because of certification fee. 4. They are not friendly with any respect for your hard earn money. More
Oaklawn Mazda advertised a CX-9 GT on the internet for about $25K. I asked if the price was negotiable and they responded No. Still OK, but now that I am trying to close the deal and willing to pay cash ( about $25K. I asked if the price was negotiable and they responded No. Still OK, but now that I am trying to close the deal and willing to pay cash (minus trade in) they have lost interest to sell me the car. Now they have stated they will not sell me the car unless I buy the certified warranty. Why is paying cash so bad? More
I visited this dealership twice. The first time I went to test drive an Mazda 3 2010 S. Sport. The Salesmen has me drive an I Touring 2010. I was naive to the fact that their was a difference in the car the test drive an Mazda 3 2010 S. Sport. The Salesmen has me drive an I Touring 2010. I was naive to the fact that their was a difference in the car the first night. The second night I came back to test drive a S. Sport. I took it on a test drive. The Salesman did not know certain things about the car. He could not even tell the difference between the two models. I just wanted a standard model 2010 Madza 3 S. Sport. They were trying to sell me a Mazda 3, 2010 with a tech package and Sound package. We presented them with a car for trade in value. Our car qualified for cash for clunkers, they did not mention it to us. They appraised our car for less than the Cash for Clunkers value. When I did explain to them what I was willing to pay, they went through the song and dance with the sales manager. He kept trying to ask me to pay more money when I did not want too. We had give the dealership our key for them to give us a value for the trade in. We had to ask for the CAR KEY back three times!! They kept refusing to give us the KEY BACK. Once I was not satisfied with what they were offering in return, I just wanted to leave. They kept us their until the dealer closed. They kept feeding me a whole lot of crap, eventually, they drove up the I Touring and told me that was the Car I wanted. I did not want that CAR. They tried to get me to test drive the I touring again. After waiting outside for another half hour and being more crap from the Sales Manager, the original salesman FINALLY gave me back my car key. I got there at 7pm. I wanted to leave at about 8pm. They did not give us our Key back until 9:15pm. More
Very comfortable environment. We did not feel pressured into buying anything. Our salesman was very informative and treated us like human beings, not like his next commission. I sent my friend to this deal into buying anything. Our salesman was very informative and treated us like human beings, not like his next commission.
