The other stores we went to weren't trying to sell us anything, but he was willing to work with us and he knew his stuff. afterwards he went the extra mile to make sure that the front license plate was installed after the sell was complete and everything was in tip top shape. Couldn't find problem other shop did still paid $220!! I went in for a clunk which they could figure out the problem. They had the car for 5 days. The service charge fee was not stated to me when I dropp I went in for a clunk which they could figure out the problem. They had the car for 5 days. The service charge fee was not stated to me when I dropped off the vehicle. They stated all the transmission sensors went on. Another mechanic at a different dealership said that was very odd for ALL sensors to go on. The different mechanic figured out the main issue and the he clunk WITHOUT charging me a fee. The service department acted like they did not know anything about helping me out with the diagnosis fee. Talk to general manager and he said, we will not refund your fee, period. Very fake kindness, rude management. It's said that I bought the car there 8 years ago. Go would recommend not going there for any reason especially service. More
Nice people, but dealer policies treat you like a criminal I wanted a very specific Subaru, and was willing to travel to get it. I found it at Napleton Subaru in Rockford, IL. Since it was a 4-5 hour drive for I wanted a very specific Subaru, and was willing to travel to get it. I found it at Napleton Subaru in Rockford, IL. Since it was a 4-5 hour drive for me to get there and I worked the next few days, I asked if I could give them a $500 deposit with a credit card to hold the car for me for a few days. They would not. Their policy is only to allow a deposit at the end of the day to hold it until the end of the next business day. Luckily the car was still available when I had my next day off. They insisted I pay for the car with a cashier's check, not a personal check, so I came with the necessary cashier's check. But they also required me to fill out a loan application, in case the cashier's check might be a forgery. This seemed absolutely ludicrous to me, but was the only way they would let me buy the vehicle. I found this terribly offensive, and when Subaru finance called me at home the next day for more details about my credit application and I told them I didn't need it, that the dealer had required it even through I was paying by cashier's check, Subaru said they had never heard of such a thing and cancelled the application. Then when the entire transaction was complete, I was offered the extended warranty on my used Subaru. Never in all of the conversations I had had over the phone or the several hours I was there did anyone even mention it before. And I had to make a decision to purchase it within about 5 minutes or it was no longer an option. And that they would take a personal check for. I declined, since I don't like high pressure sales, nor did I like how they handled it. It seems to be their policy, since the person who offered it to me assumed that no one had ever mentioned it to me before. I have purchased two vehicles that required me to fly to another state to pick them up. Both of those dealers held cars with a $500 credit card deposit and let me pay by personal check. Napelton told me that their policies were normal when buying a car out of state, which has not been my experience. The people were all friendly, but the dealer policies seem to be designed for working with criminals. I would absolutely never send anyone to buy a car from them. I have asked around and no one I know has ever had a buying experience like this. More
