I am giving NYE Toyota of Oneida a poor rating because I was not compensated for an agreed upon car starter. During the negotiating process, my salesperson, Alex Schmidt, stated that an automatic car start was not compensated for an agreed upon car starter. During the negotiating process, my salesperson, Alex Schmidt, stated that an automatic car starter will be included in the purchase price. He stated that they have a dedicated shop not affiliated with the dealership that installs all of the aftermarket car starters. He stated that it costs $300 for the service and that the dealership will include it in the purchase price at no cost to me the buyer. Prior to picking up the car, Alex stated that he could not get ahold of the contractor that completes the automatic car starter installation. I understood that it was not crucial to have the car starter immediately and that we could work out a solution. When the car arrived at the dealership (dealer to dealer trade), Alex showed me that the car does have an automatic car starter which is activated through a key fob sequence. At this time I was skeptical of the reliability and the key fob battery longevity and I said that I would try this method and see if it works for me. At this point he stated (paraphrasing) that if I decide to not get a car starter installed that the dealership would cut me a check for the $300 that it would have cost them to get the starter installed. This way I could get the cr starter installed at a later date, at my convenience, and at a shop closer to my residence. The $300 allocated for the starter was factored into the purchase price of the car. That apparent sign of good faith from the dealership was a factor in my negotiations. I took delivery on the car on Monday 9/29/25. This is after I changed my schedule to accommodate the dealership so they can help hit the September sales numbers. After more than a week of not hearing anything and multiple phone calls to the salesman, he texted me stating that a sales manager will be calling me. That text was on Thursday 10/9/25. I never received a call from the sales manager. I called Alex again on 10/16/25 and left a message to call me back. I called again today 10/20/25 and left another message. No response. I am very frustrated that the salesman, sales manager, or anyone for that matter, does not have the decency to return my call and get this issue resolved. I guess since they have my money, I am not worth anything to them any longer. This dealership preaches a no hassle buying experience. This was not my experience. I though I would get a certain level of respect spending nearly $50000 on a vehicle. I guess I was wrong. NYE Toyota's friendly demeanor is only a facade. They are no different than any other stereotypical dealership. I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with the entire experience. More
