Thank you for the feedback. We are aware that our ability to get customers into the shop is extremely impacted right now. We are attempting every possible adjustment to try and draw up that time frame to less time. I am sorry that you are impacted negatively by the engine recall when your engine is working just fine. That is hard thing to deal with. There are other Kia dealerships, though not as close that do not have the same delays that we are working with. I have a window that will not close. I can not drive around or leave my car with a broken window. There should have been a recall for this probleem. Not waiting til people had open windows they could not close. It is all over the internet that there was a problem with the motors in this year model.

Ms. Macbay, I apologize that you are having AC problems. We did not refuse to fix your AC issue. We refused to pay for your AC issue, which is not covered under warranty. Your vehicle was towed in disabled and received an engine replacement, covered through the manufacturer's warranty. Any other needed repairs not covered under warranty are the responsibility of the customer. Feel free to call me again, so we can discuss this further if you would like.

There were NO repairs needed until your staff touched my car! I never had a single issue with my AC until I had repairs done by your CARELESS staff for a recall that was 100% out of my control. Don’t try and act “helpful” and “caring” now because when I called and tried to work this out over a 2 day period you acted as if you didn’t care about my situation, you were dismissive and 100% unwilling to work with me! You lied to me about the entire situation! I stand by every word in my review! This dealership is terrible and by far the worst service I have EVER received, they are unreliable and dishonest!!!!! And I am referring to the general manager, Matt, the service department manager, Jim, and the other rude guy, Anthony!

Miss Conway, I am following up on your service visit, We have been working with Kia techline on your issue and it was an ongoing process. Kia techline had updated your case with more test and checks that they want us to perform, Before we could bring your car back into the shop to continue the diagnosis process with KIA you came and picked up your car. Matt was unaware of the following test that KIA instructed us to perform being it was updated around 1 today and the technician was not aware that your car was going to be picked up. Sorry for the inconvenience and mix up. We would like to be able to finish the diagnosis process that KIA had asked us to perform. So we can try and get some resolution for you in this matter. Jim, we will bring our Optima in on April 14 around 9am. It would have been nice if these tests had been run when we left it for a week and half. Gas is very expensive plus we live close to an hour away. We would like to deal with someone besides Matt. He just walked off when we picked it up last time as a friend was telling him that she had been in the car more than once when we we’ were having problems with the car. We received your other online reviews as well. Mr. Gipe is a long-term employee of the dealership. He has never given us a reason to question his intention or integrity. The concerns that you are expressing have seemed to change from your first negative Google review to your complaint on this platform. Similar to what the service manager told you when you called… We would be happy to supply you with the parts invoice showing where we ordered your replacement engine from KIA corporate, and received it. I believe that you may have felt that you should have received a new engine. We strictly follow KIA corporate’s guidelines on these recalls. We are not the ones who make rules as to what vehicles get a remanufactured engine. If KIA hadn't replaced your engine under this recall then I believe you would have been out of factory warranty. That would have left you paying out of pocket for a new or remanufactured engine. I received the information this afternoon that you planned on getting a lawyer and blowing up our social media pages. But we are simply the middle man for the recall and warranty. We do not “call the shots”. I am sincerely sorry that your working engine is not what you had hoped. KIA corporate may have more to say, but with regards to the installation, Myrtle Beach Kia did as we were told by the person who paid for the repair.

I normally NEVER write bad reviews for any service good or bad. But honestly the way your employee talked to me and my family about a timeframe of when it would be done he flat out lied to me over the phone. I understand these aren’t your shots your calling but I work in the service industry myself and know times are tough but I was not asking for much… just simple communication. Matt told me personally my car was next in line on a Thursday in Feb. i called two weeks later just checking up on things and the other service guy told me I was now number 5. I asked the guy to be honest what kind of time frame are we looking at? I have to return my grandfathers truck he let me use and just needed to around what day I should expect mine to be done. I am grateful KIA repaired my engine. Very grateful. What this review about is how communication lacks in your office and I hate that for you because I truly love my KIA car. But due to the lack of service & communication from the person who is supposed to the elite communicator on what services are being done I am writing this review. He needs to understand he could have handled his words, communication, and customer response way better than he did. I knew a big company like KIA wouldn’t care about an employee being rude to a customer but oh well! I posted on my social media weeks ago but yes I have done that. But I just wanted to share my experience from the MB KIA and why I’ll never buy from KIA again. If I ever move to another state maybe I’ll buy another KIA!
